Even after Ten years still Bitcoin is used by Geeks and majority of common citizens doesn't seems to use Bitcoin as a currency or even for trading purposes and I think this situation has occurred because still it is not approachable and that is because even it has all the features for a proper usability majority of people doesn't see Bitcoin as an usable currency for anyone who has basic technical knowledge which is not true but in order to change this situation and make Bitcoin more approachable to common people how its path should change in the future both technically and socially to convince it is a currency for everyone

Bitcoin prices that have such a large fluctuation are the reason why Bitcoin has yet to get regulation from the government. it may take several years to reach the phase when bitcoin can be used legally in various financial transactions in the world. .

people should stop expecting bitcoin to be as simple and convenient as swiping a credit card. it's not just a payment method; it's a monetary system with built-in storage/banking, and a payment method all in one. that requires a nuanced economic design, including decentralized (inefficient and cumbersome) relay and validation. not many people but geeks can appreciate its beauty and utility---it takes price bubbles for most people to realize it might be important.

we already have sleek desktop/mobile wallets and hardware wallets that are user-friendly. what may help is the lightning network bringing faster and cheaper payments to users. right now, it's really only recommended for tech savvy users.

at the end of the day, most people aren't interested in alternative forms of money. many people won't bother until it starts becoming the norm.

That is true but don't expect that people will know it since we are talking about Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies here. I am saying this using the popular exchange in our country, coins.ph, but you can't really use Bitcoin to pay on markets, some places do accept Bitcoin but most of the places don't. Even though Bitcoin is legalized in our country, I don't think even one-fourth of our population knows or uses Bitcoin in their lives.

Bitcoin will become more popular in the future, and I am sure that many business and company will accept bitcoin. But right now, not all country accepted bitcoin, and if we can count in a big city, there are only a few offline stores that accepted bitcoin too. But when they see the big opportunity from bitcoin, soon they will accept bitcoin as the second or even the primary payment method. Bitcoin can change the people view about payment system and bitcoin will reach more people to join.

You should actually change your topic to this " How to make Bitcoin more approachable to stupid users " because most common/normal people are already using Bitcoin. The stupid people are pointing fingers and laughing at the people who are buying bitcoins, because they do not understand the technology.  

i don't think we're even close to most people already using bitcoin. i'd be surprised if even 5-10% owned crypto in developed countries, and i would expect much less in undeveloped countries.

perhaps most people have heard of bitcoin, but that's about it. anecdotally, i've only met two people IRL who use bitcoin (and they really only invest or trade). they're both millennials. of the dozens of other people in my life---no one.

i think lots of older folks in particular are intimidated by the technology.

You might have misinterpreted what I meant with "common" because I should have used my own description for it. By common, I mean the average Joe on the street. I am just trying to group the average person in a group that are separate from the totally clueless people out there. Those people who do not have the IQ or the drive to experiment with something new.

Bitcoin is not as difficult to use as many payment processors. If you can use the centralized ones why not Bitcoin. There are couple of Bitcoin wallets with very simple interface.
 Centralized payment processors would demand kyc before linking to your bank account... Owning Bitcoin doesnt require these things.

You will not change the technology of bitcoin blockchain and its use for social and technical purposes is impossible. Bitcoin is a digital currency that's all. To use it do not have to be stupid and specifically something to learn - and so it is available to all who want to buy it.
If you want to say that ordinary people do not understand how blockchain technology works, then you just need to read the literature and learn programming, but not everyone is capable of it.

Yes people are now investing having faith for bitcoin and they are sure about increasing value so it will not take much effort to make people use it all over the world. Do not worry about making it approachable to common users, they will come eventually. They were even here even when they know nothing about bitcoin, its the returns that will make them wanna come into crypto.
