No funds no project idea makes me sick and tired of ICO ,I never like the idea right from the beginning ,why? Well to me if you are the owner of your business or company and you have struggled a lot to build it you won't dare want to let go or see it crumbled and fail,this is not present in ICO cases ,ICO is just like "oh if not much funds then I will back off and reopen another project maybe we can reach the hard cap" ,well if every developers are the ones funding there projects they will be more serious to make it a successful one,the easy safe path of backing out if hardcap is never achieved makes it feel easy for every one especially the scammers, I'm not been heartless ,if you don't have money to fund your project just don't bother ,many coins out there have no ICO ,no premine ,no bullshit with fine price per coin ,they never want any funds ,coins like masari ,Loki,haven project, dero rely on nobody fund yet they perform better than hundreds of ICO.

Then just go back to old school investing. Go altcoins which are trusted or go all the way to bitcoin.
Issues about scam ICOs are getting larger. You might want to keep yourself safe and not risk too much.

Bitcoin and Ethereum is being offered since like a decade ago. Greed should not take over because that is the time you go for this ICOs when you want larger profit in a small amount of time.

After the massive dump in the last year to till this moment, complete cryptocurrency market is facing downtrend hence you need to be attentive while you invest on ICO or any other cryptocurrencies as well. I always looking to invest on the good project by researching the facts such as team, wp, product and token allocation. These things will allow me to check and confirm which is the best investment.
If the product is ready before the ICO pre sale is ready, you may trust that kind of project somehow.

I understand your feelings. However, it seems to me that it does not come from wanting to scam people, but from lack of experience and inability to manage the project. Most projects did not predict such a large drop in cryptocurrency prices and kept the accumulated funds mainly in ETH. With time and with the drop in prices, the funds have finish and projects have fallen. The situation looks quite different when the bull run starts on the market, so let's be optimistic.

ICO is made for companies that do not have the funds to build their businesses. The ICO project collects funds to build its business. Yes, I agree that many ICO projects have failed now, but that is because the crypto market conditions are being negative or bad, causing the funds to be drastically reduced. Masari, Loki and Haven received fund from VC and some from ICO. The model you painted above is fading, hardly will you see any project now coming out for funding without any MVP. There is no issue with the model but humans that abuse the process, I have invested into some rubbish project, which was painted as the next big thing but later realize they are just sham

It's all about the experience. There are people who initially knew all the pitfalls of the ICO market, and invested only for sure. Their experience has remained extremely positive, while the majority are more likely negative.

I agree with you there, I mean a ICO doesn't have to reach a hard cap to proceed, with just $200k some developers can get  on board and then they can continue and even attract other investors if needed if truly needed.

I have rarely seen a platform that needs all the funds it is trying to achieve, still if there is new tech being involved and is plausible then some investments would be needed.

Take a look at Scroda.io a project of mines we want to implement Biometrics with the use of EEG and break the current barriers in blockchains in relations to privacy. It would not be so easy to get started without the proper funds being raised.

The thing I really see going on though is people invest in shitty project with a good team because they know that they will make a profit, a ponzi scheme at it's best because the earlier they invested the bigger the profits.

Still I would never give up on my project just because I didn't reach hardcap even if it took a year or two I will still keep going and keep going even on top of that because the project is part of me my idea my creation.

You are not the only one sick about the ICO issues, their failures and gross incompetence. That is why I also want an end to ICOs and crowdfunding projects.

Then stop participating in ICOs if you keep feeling sick. ICOs have high risks so you can ensure the profit that you may get. It is better if you will just buy coin in an exchange for you to lessen the risks that you are taking.

The ICO market is suffering very much for the lack of investors. Last year, many investors went out from investing in ICOs, where everyone can invest in established ICOs! Almost every ICOs are not making success or investors are losing their capital! The current situation became worst since bear market remains stronger for the past year, and yet more panic holders lose their hope with ICO. Scam project showed up and drowned people of losing their funds like their savings. That's why I was only investing in the trusted ico that backed by the big company. There are some icos just like London block exchange which has already cancelled its ico and they are trying to developing the platform used their own funds that they can get from their live product.

It's annoying for the investors and the bounty hunters who wasted their time. However, if they don't have enough funds then they will release a product that will not have any value, and they can't afford the listing fees for an exchange so tokens will be worthless anyway

I absolutely agree, ICOs are a waste of time. The idea was decent in the beginning, community fundraiser a project to success. But now it is all scams, and money directly to CEO pockets, not for the project.
That why I look for projects that don't have ICOs. Helios Protocol, the one in my signature, is a perfect example. Self funded, organic growth, and real technology. The team works hard because they believe in the blockchain. No ICO needed.

I understand your rant, but ICO transactions are completely voluntary - nobody is forcing investors to give ICOs money without background checks. I've personally profited greatly by ICOs because I pick the good ones, if I can, so can others.
