So I'm VERY new at this - so take it easy on me please!

I bought an Antminer U1 rated at 1.6Gh/s.  I followed the instructions I found online...installed the CP210x USB to UART Bridge VCP Driver and reinstalled it with Zadig, I'm using cgminer with the proper string, etc.  Everything seems to be working perfectly EXCEPT the hashrate.  The fastest rate I've gotten (over a 3 day period) is 0.23 GH/s - far less than what I was expecting.  Shares are showing up in my pool so I know it's working, just very slowly.  Any ideas as to what's going on?  Driver issue?  Faulty device?  User error (most likely)?

Thanks!

What's your "proper" string?

That's what might happen if you used an ancient version of cgminer that did not actually support these devices. Upgrade to the latest (which is 4.1.0)
