You don't realize, speculation is managing this market. If you want to raise your token’s price, you must buy a lot of accounts to advertise. Therefore, people are still buying these accounts. I have just sold many accounts for ico startup.

maybe so but anyone buying and/or selling an account should be not be trusted and should be banned. Buying/selling accounts totally undermines the entire meaning/purpose of those accounts.

I’m here since 2013, who isn't reliable? I sold more than 600 accounts and everyone pleased for trading with me. A lot of people joined Bitcointalk campaign for earning money and when they get paid, they bought more Bitcoin for holding. Buying and selling accounts are legal in here. Someone may give red trust because of their arrogance but they are pathetic according to me.

wow 600 accounts? so there are 600 fake accounts here just from you? sad...

the reliability is that no one can trust the accounts you sell - you might have leveled them all up to whatever status they are at and have no negative feedback zero negative trust ratings but how can anyone trust the people who buy your accounts who did not earn it?

true if they start acting inappropriately they will get banned but will they care if they are able to rip people off who trust their high forum level and trust rating without knowing the person did not earn it?

It has nothing to do with arrogance.

18. Having multiple accounts and account sales are allowed, but account sales are discouraged.

All us DT members are doing is making it discouraged. Also, this is theymos' thoughts on the matter:

I'm wondering whether you specifically disapprove of account dealers being tagged--not necessarily your opinion on the matter, but whether you'd consider that an inappropriate use of the trust system.

Since some people view account sales as fundamentally untrustworthy, I think it's an appropriate use.

Unfortunately, as rule 18 stated above, account sales are allowed. So no one is getting banned just for buying/selling accounts. I think the rationale behind this has to do with the fact that many of these account sales are done offsite, anyway. And it is impossible to definitively prove that an account has been bought or sold unless someone comes out and admits it. The staff only want to ban people for infractions that can be definitively proved.

oh I know they are not going to be. I just simply said they should not that they will. Selling of accounts totally defeats and ruins the entire purpose of the trust and ranking system of these forums. It means that there is no trustworthy trust rating outside of your own personal experience simply because you will never know if it is a legitimate account or if it is simply a bought account.
