This is the reason of why i don't believe that Bitcoin will  disappear or a bubble as many countries are already supporting Bitcoin with more and more are now considering to support it as they are now starting to draft their own regulations. Hopefully the whole world will accept and recognize Bitcoin so that it can be use anywhere like the US Dollar.

It's kinda funny to realise that bitcoin is illegal or restricted in most of the "not-so-democratic" countries.
The real problem is the unclear status of bitcoin in the Tier1 countries(USA,UK,Canada,Australia,New Zealand)+the EU countries.By 'unclear' I mean that bitcoin isn't considered a currency.It's still considered as a digital asset.

I think the whole lot of countries that are listed as legal status for bitcoin are just positive for it as digital assets. Otherwise, if all create legal status for bitcoin, then the acceptance level would have grown more than what we have today. I think most of them are just positive.

This is a good news. It is slowly adopted by the mass. Maybe 10-20 years bitcoin is legal all over the world. Imagine? people are using bitcoin in their daily lives, all merchants accepts bitcoin and the government supporting it.

It sounds a bit too optimistic that chart. I can see my country
is in dark green on the map but nobody from our government
has ever issued a statement that Bitcoin was "Completely Legal"
having said that though they haven't said it is illegal.

I think there are a lot of countries in "default" mode, meaning
they haven't acted either way. Maybe Bitcoin doesn't pose a
big enough threat to FIAT to warrant action.

Look like whole South East Asia either considered it illegal or restricted it. OP is expressing happiness that is legal in 111 countries but OP is unable to take the account of the population where bitcoin is considered illegal and restricted.

Population of Indian Subcontinent + China is 50% of World population and atleast 50% people of world cannot use bitcoin freely.


On side note, we have lot of people to be added in network if government of these countries change decision in future.

i think most country do this? for example, in Indonesia most government only accept bitcoin as digital asset. i think that's enough for now, at least they don't ban it. in the near future they should started to accept bitcoin as a means of payment when the prize is stable enough. even right now, payment processor convert bitcoin asap when they receive it, so that means bitcoin needs to be converted before it can work.

With all due respect, the crypto community probably doesn't care at all that those countries (most of them with oppressive governments) don't want to make Bitcoin legal. Most of those countries wouldn't even have large bitcoin volumes even if it were legal and most likely it wouldn't have a big impact on the market if some day they decide to legalize bitcoin. Now China and India are a different story, if they were to legalize bitcoin there's no doubt that it could have a big impact on Bitcoin, I believe that in the long run they'll change their stance on Bitcoin and just straight up legalize it, or at least get rid of most of the restrictions.

111 vs 10 it's already a big win for Bitcoin and crypto, it's a matter of time before the masses adopt bitcoin and we can kick off the adoption phase worldwide.

I can neither confirm nor deny the validity of this chart, though I can say that most of the countries in the chart only considers bitcoin as a digital asset and not a currency per se. Anyway, this just goes to show that more and more countries are recognizing bitcoin's capability thus making sure that it goes within their legal frameworks and be safe for future dealings. This doesn't necessarily mean that their stance regarding the said cryptocurrency will change though, as was the case for China for years, but it's a good thing that more and more countries are trying to establish bitcoin's legality on their books.

I don't know how accurate your information is, but I know Vietnam is not watching bitcoin illegally, because I am a Vietnamese citizen. In my country bitcoin, not supported by the government but not banned, people can trade bitcoin together, this is completely legal.

It made me peek to the local boards of Vietnam but it's locked since 2017. Those countries that 'restricted' bitcoin will soon turn their tables and will announce that the people loves to use bitcoin and it is unstoppable so they have to adopt it.

Looking at the numbers where it is legal. People who have been doubting it will definitely be encourage to see this info. More legal countries means that more people who are trusting and using it, mass adoption is coming

It's indeed a good sign that the global community is not against Bitcoin. To be fair, though, the list of the countries where Bitcoin is supposed to be completely legal is not very accurate. It includes some countries were Bitcoin is neither legal nor illegal. Take Ukraine, for example. Can people here use Bitcoin? Yes. Are there websites to exchange Bitcoin for local currency? Sure, plenty of them. There are even some stores that accept Bitcoin. Nevertheless, Bitcoin is not 100% legal here, because no law has been passed on this matter yet. Moreover, as the National Bank of Ukraine once stated, it does not recognize Bitcoin as legal tender, and using unrecognized money is illegal. And who knows how many other countries on that map are not supposed to be that green.

Legal doesn't always mean the country is favorable towards crypto, a lot of these countries tend to have very heavy regulations on crypto.  Especially the regulations on privacy coins.  The main reason they made it legal is to bring in more business that they can tax.

As bitcoin is accepted more around the world, the cost of rejecting bitcoin will exceed the cost of adopting it. Bitcoin will begin to assume money’s traditional roles and gain institutional and government support. It will become all money and form the backbone of a new global economy. This continues and each halving creates big demand for bitcoin as the coins to be mined is very less in number.
