The team behind the project are the responsible for any changes in the original plan/requirements, the bounty manager is the only one implementing it.

That means in the beginning he/she will never know the plans of the team and is unable to answer the questions of the bounty hunters firmly.

Unfortunately this scenarios are often happening and we are the ones who is suffering from such decision because if you dont follow their additional rules you wont get your rewards.

Recently, I just had this bad experience with a bounty campaign I joined (Vanta to be specific). They've extended the campaign, added some task, and threatened participants that they'll not get all the bounty rewards if they won't participate. I raised my concerns to the bounty manager and I was quite disappointed with the response.

To all fellow hunters, you may want to ask this questions to your bounty managers before joining a campaign:

1. Bounty campaign extension
- Will the team ask for an increase in the bounty pool?
- Will the team close the registration and allow only those participants prior to extension?

2. ICO team inserting rules after the campaign
- Will the team allow ICO teams add rules like exchange voting and require hunters to participate?
- What would be the bounty team's response if ICO teams would withhold the bounty rewards to force hunters to participate?

These questions might help you understand how strong the bounty manager is when it comes to protecting its group of bounty hunters.

Those can be use as our guaranty for the future of the bounty, with all the answer that the manager give us, but it won't be that easy to get the best answer from the bounty manager, cos they don't have absolute power to intervene what the bounty would be.

For me it is more important if bounty hunters need to pass KYC and if the token pool is held in an escrow, to protect yourself that you will surely receive your reward.

Yes, I am going to ask bounty community managers before joining bounty, because they analyze project well and can recommend something to me

In terms of bonus expansion, they are unable to do anything but wait for information from the group. If they still want to expand the bounty campaign, keep the bounty pool intact. We still have to depend on them

There was no guarantee until the token will be sending to the escrow address, remember about doing KYC doesn't mean if you will receive your token smoothly dude. I should remind you there was a bunch of platforms have a lot of problem with KYC dude.

Most times, when you ask some sensitive questions, they may not answer you. Their response might even be that, if you are not comfortable with their rules, you should not bother joining. They do this, when they already have so much participants.
The only way bounty hunters can overcome this, is when we area unified in our decisions.

They cannot and will not answer that, for the simple reason that they have no control it's the main developer who will and can give instruction and besides they can change the rule anytime depending on the situation of the token sales, Ico is really a big risk for bounty hunters in the current state.

You should not just join in an bounty, you should have knowledge about the bounty that you are going to join before you participate. You will just waste your time if you will participate in bounty campaign that have poor team.

Yes, to change or add new rules and requirements for the participants of the bounty campaign is not good. But what can you do bounty hunters participate without contracts, all relationships are built on trust. Manipulation from the creators of projects not excluded.

I will ask other people more experienced than me to check bounty and how good it is. At the moment I have several favourite bounty managers and not all of them suggest quality bounties right now

And you think they will tell you the truth on the start, although i agree that some of the decision like bounty extension could pop up and its dependent on how the project goes but something like the lock up of bounty rewards is what baffles me.

they can break their own rules anytime or change even without prior notice, it is already stated in their rules, so if it is up to you join or not it is very important that we have a reputable bounty manager to handle the campaign so they can explain it clearly.

It is always good to research before joining any bounty program because legit people will always give attitude and will progress their development to the next level. If a company has a real team behind the project will help them to get more awareness about the project by spreading the words about their future developments.

It is good actually, but sometimes there are some bounty managers are ignoring those question that came from the bounty hunters.
They've actually became selective about the questions they want to answer it only. So for me aside from questioning them, it is also quite better if we do our own research in choosing bounty campaign project.

It won't help you either if the rules are changing while the bounty is running, the bounties will get extended normally when the ICO sales are extended so you need to promote it continuously if they have rules like that to get rewards or just skip with the stakes you have earned and find the best bounties if you can.

i think i saw some ico that extend thier token sale but the bounty does not  .  while other dont extend their token sale but they extend thier bounty campaigns because they only want traffic  . they want exposure so that when the coin is listed on an exchange , it can easily gain attraction to potential investors  . most bounty that i join before , are have a fix rules which is good because participants wont get confused  .  those the one that change rules too often are a bit hassle and seems shady .

There are no specific rules in bounty because they might extend the bounty if they didn't reach any hard cap during the crowd sales and i have faced these situation many times. So it is impossible to predict at the beginning of any bounty they will extend according to the situation. Some bounty campaigns will be closed on the specified time limit only.

We all bounty hunters don't really like it but it became a normal thing today. It is so unfair and sometimes bounties are now trying to cheat bounty hunters using their disclaimers that they can change the rules whenever they want to. But I think they will not do that if we are in a healthy market. All that we can blame for all of this is the strict ICO regulations that makes it hard to raise a small softcap.
