what is happening in Philippines currently is something i will love to see happen in all other countries. Government of different countries should accept and adopt the use of cryptocurrency and bitcoin for use same way the Philippines are doing currently. I hope this will be possible in no distant time

But I wouldn't use Bitcoin to pay for anything that fiat can pay with unless it's very necessary, if I were you. Bitcoin is a provably scarce resource, don't waste it. HODL. I think paying for bills with bitcoin and saving excess bitcoin are positive for the ecosystem and for the value of the cryptocurrency. This is especially true in developing countries with a history of currency instability. Thus, saving and spending bitcoin should not be seen as mutually exclusive.

in my country there is also a digital wallet, the name is DANA. but I only saw it on a TV ad, and I haven't tried the wallet.
it seems, the wallet can also be used to pay for electricity, water, and others.
slowly digital development will force the public to accept this transaction service.

Here in the Philippines we could use our local wallet called coins.ph to buy load pay for our electric, water and credit card bills and even book for travel.
Of course yes because of local wallet that called"coins.ph" you can use it as payment method that you don't need to place to make pay your bills even buying a load in the store. Many people in the Philippines do that so it can't hassle to them to pay their bills and I think it's convenient.

That's really one big advantage of using your coins.ph account. But you need to understand that it takes 3 business days for a clear out. But absolutely, if you are tired and doesn't want to go out and you have funds in your wallet then try it sometimes just to get the experience.

I am from the Philippines and Bitcoin or any other crypto currencies are not that popular. We are a third world country, it is true that we are not getting behind the development of technology but there are a lot of people that still don't use them nor know them. Some still even think that Bitcoin and other crypto currencies are a scam. Also, for me, it is not like we are using Bitcoin directly but using the exchange wallet's services.

I'm happy with this method to pay bitcoin to bills etc but in my opinion it's okay to hold bitcoin is just that it can increase the value in the future. There are other options like fiat that can be paid. Coins.ph is the most popular digital wallet in the Philippines, but I would prefer earn bitcoin instead of paying bills. Soon because the value of bitcoin will increase again we all know it

I liked the idea of this bitcoin wallet it can pay a lot of merchants it is very convenient but I think they don't have a rival in the country right now that's why their rate is too low from the current price which is not good. And with this wallet you dont have access to your private keys.
Well that is the only problem that I see right now, It is against the Bitcoin anonymity they have your personal info and your private key, But at least you could pay anything with their wallet. Here in the Philippines we could use our local wallet called coins.ph to buy load pay for our electric, water and credit card bills and even book for travel.
I read all the replies but I haven't seen anyone posting any proofs. So I will be posting mine: This is for my telephone and internet bills: (PLDT) Credit card bill: (BDO) And water: (Maynilad) Why I'm using my bitcoins to pay? Because I believed that they should be treated as currency, simply as that. Well, a great proof that using bitcoin as currency is starting to become more popular but do you feel that you are wasting your bitcoin or not? Because with the speed of bitcoin, we will soon be able to see better prices in the future, which means that if we accumulate now with bitcoin, our future assets is giant, you should limit the use of bitcoin for payment, we can use cash, I believe that many people will have the same opinion with me, bitcoin should be used for larger purposes, instead of paying for bills only. Thanks for the proof , I don't really have a proof because I don't use the wallet for any bills payment.

I'm also from Philippines but I don't use bitcoin to pay those expenses. I do hold that is why I use fiat money instead of Bitcoin. By the use of Bitcoin you can travel Philippines through bitcoins. Using bitcoin is an advantage to everyone especially those Pilipino who uses bitcoin. Its More Fun in the Philippines with Bitcoins you can travel beautiful views and eco-friendly resorts. Philippine's technological use really improves because they/we accept bitcoin as a payment and use it as a household expenses payment.

It looks like you are mocking pro-hold people? Lol. Anyway hold doesn't work that much in this current market. It didn't stop people from buying and selling with Bitcoin during the good old days volatiliy. More people still bought and sold stuff with Bitcoin then acccording to statistics.

It does cost that much because the system will automatically convert your bitcoin to your php wallet and that will make a transaction fee. The problem with is that the higher money will be transacted the higher also the transaction fee will be deducted to your wallet. So, it is not ideal to use bitcoin in paying bills and other ways that one could pay online. I prefer G cash wallet than coins.ph in paying online like load but G cash wallet has no available crypto in it. I am not sure if many entities have been accepting cryptocurrencies in that manner. I have read that some banks like Security Bank has been accepting and transacting cryptocurrencies once it is linked with trading platforms. However, that's the only bank I have read that does that, therefore, if you plan to use cryptocurrencies similar to how one uses a credit card, I am not sure if that could be useful since not very many business entities accept it just yet. Maybe, the best thing one can do is to exchange it for money, then use the money like it has always been used.

Philippines still not fully recognized bitcoin in country.
It is fully recognized in the Philippines, our government is currently monitoring bitcoin exchanges and one of the popular bank in the country is launching their own crypto atm( source). I think this is an trial and error if this will be error all btc will be waste. Wait until the price of btc return and sell it into dollar so you can pay your bills.
The risk is always there when investing and everyone should know that. Maybe, the best thing one can do is to exchange it for money, then use the money like it has always been used.
If people are spending it on the same thing(bills, load, food) then it's best to do it directly.

In the Philippines bitcoin can be used legally, especially in tourist areas. Because the government realizes that many bitcoin owners visit this country, so they don't want this opportunity to just disappear. Of course transactions can occur on the agreement of buyers and sellers who clearly see a hotel and shop dietalase. So, there is nothing to worry about as long as everything is going well.

Happy to hear from you. You guys are lucky. But unfortunately Bitcoin is illegal in my country. Hope one day we can also use like you.
Unfortunately, that is a sad thing to know that there are some countries against Bitcoin. So, what country you are now that Bitcoin is illegal to use? Here in our country(Philippines) the government and people were very well known this crypto to them. So far so good because not only wallet platform we had that supported Bitcoin there are also some Banks supported cryptocurrency just like UnionBank here in the Philippines. I think people didn't use as of now their crypto asset they wait the price will increase.
