Philippines is really making it easy with crypto currency. They made a local wallet for the people in the Philippines to use for the crypto , They made it easy to convert crypto into Fiat and making it easy to pay bills with crypto you wouldn't have to leave your house just to pay bills no more waiting for your turn in the counter , You could just easily pay it with just a few clicks .

Here in the Philippines we could use our local wallet called coins.ph to buy load pay for our electric, water and credit card bills and even book for travel.
There is a thread in the gambling discussion saying that we should not gamble our bitcoin and that changed my mind. He's right, bitcoin could grow any time soon. So, why do we need to use bitcoin if we can gather more from it in the future? Well we all have different opinion and of course Bitcoins price could grow but let's not forget that it could also drop down as well. And the question is why wouldn't you use it as a regular currency? We all want Bitcoin to be accepted and now that it is being accepted you aren't going to use it, Why would you demand for acceptance if you would just ignore it when it is being accepted?

We can gamble in bitcoin anytime, we are always welcome here in this forum, we should gather more and more bitcoin as price is now not very high, whenever you invest in bitcoin price will rise even if it is low but with time it will rise higher, so it is easy in my place we will we can pay for anything we want to do with money, we are able to do with crypto currency today.

That's very simple, when the usage and acceptance of bitcoin increases automatically there will be good circulation of bitcoin in the market. Also the need for bitcoin will increase high, but when this scenario exists people tend to hold to experience the growth and get good profit. Most of the users who ignore after acceptance and keep hold were the low volume holders.

Yes that is true, because i already did that and also i buy load from it , so digital currencies here in the Philippines was totally accepted and i think there's no issue about it,because it totally give help for us to be use as fast transaction and also for investing.
Well, the Philippines is crypto friendly. Many Filipino people like to used crypto because there's nothing implemented a law that may against in crypto or just even having tax they did not do that. If I not mistaken they are talking about Coins.ph app which is commonly used or let say majority used by a crypto enthusiast in the Philippines. That wallet has many functions, can do trade, paying bills and E-load system, also very convenient it withdrawing fiat.

Holding back as much bitcoin is good and not pay it, but without utility it will become what it has been through these days. Only the real usage would make it more stable and so I would prefer to use it and should I want to do earn from storing it, then I would just keep some for the right time.

But I wouldn't use Bitcoin to pay for anything that fiat can pay with unless it's very necessary, if I were you. Bitcoin is a provably scarce resource, don't waste it. HODL. yes I agree with you. it would be very disadvantage if we use bitcoin to pay bills or necessities of life, which we can actually pay for using fiat money. bitcoin is a digital asset that we must save and then we sell when the price is high. we must be patient waiting for that day to come.

Yes. I agree. Just hodl the bitcoin you have and do not use it for buying goods only if necessary. I am a filipino too and when I first had my access to coins.ph way back 2016 I just wasted it in topping up my mobile and realized that it will grow.

They all want Bitcoin to grow and now that it is growing by showing it's being accepted most of us are ignoring it.

5 years and 5 time i ve got to the Philippines only first year i used visa
after it was only bitcoin, i can say i was so happy with that no need any card anymore just my cryptos and converting btc/php fees is far less than using your card where you have such huge fees even if you don't use it)
there you can cash out pesos form your bitcoin in less than 5 minutes with cardless atm (unless it get stuck happens lot of time) and also no id needed (other cashout you need id and wait and fees)
when here in my country i need to withdraw to my bank and still takes couple of days
only bad thing there is the very very slow internet speed, you need to pray first to use it lol i hope they will work on better internet
1 time i get stuck there lot of days because i was not able to make a transaction when i was in mindoro internet speed is close to 0kb/s there

The Philippines is an ever-growing country about Cryptocurrency. A friend of mine said that when he travels to your country, everyone can pay some of the expenses with Bitcoin or some other popular Altcoin, but not everything is okay. Accept payment by cryptocurrency. But I hope to come here and experience this.

I don't trust coins.ph in terms of storing money or cypto assets since aside from BTC, you can also keep XRP, BCH and ETH. Try to check their their thread in Pilipinas section and see how many complaints we're posted specially in the option to cash out and accounts with big amount stored are closed without notice.

I know that the Philippines accepts bitcoin for payment transactions and hopes that this will be an invitation for other countries in Southeast Asia to jointly legalize bitcoin, which means a step forward in the application of digital currencies, because it cannot be claimed by a country. As for domestic daily needs, they still use their own official money. If a country legalizes bitcoin, we can be sure the development of bitcoin in that country will be very fast.
Now this is a pretty interesting one. More things need to happen before the economy of a country develops further, like for example having enough economic freedom for the private sector to move relaxed enough to expand their operations and doing that they can produce more tax revenue which ultimately benefits all the country. Better foreign trade deals and a lot other aspects that needs to be carefully assessed by the economists of that country. In fact, how would foreign trade develop?. In Bitcoin? What if the other country is not using it? That would be pretty interesting to see in the future.

Coinsdotph needs some competition. I admit, coinsdotph has been very efficient since bitcoin craze entered the Philippines. But as years passes by, it seems that they are taking advantage of being the only RELIABLE btc exchange/wallet in PH. Taking advantage in the sense that Filipino bitcoin users has no choice but use coinsdotph to encash their btc earnings, and that it turns out that they are monopolizing the btc exchange in PH (in terms of BTC to PHP exchange). Other than that issue, I am fine with coinsdotph. I just hope they'll take another step to level up their service.

Here in the Philippines we could use our local wallet called coins.ph to buy load pay for our electric, water and credit card bills and even book for travel. But how effective is this? Are you able to use this local wallet for shopping in the super-markets? Are you able to book flight tickets using this mode of payment? I researched a bit about the legality of Bitcoin in the Philippines. The good news is that it seems to be 100% legal there, unlike the situation in countries such as India and China.

It would be nice as an option, so long as the people of the Philippines are aware of a couple things:
A. If the power goes out (with all the frequent storms), you might not be able to use your BTC. B. The price can fluctuate wildly. When the bubble burst, many people lost the majority of their money, would hate to see that happen to people in the Philippines.
Maybe have some Bitcoin set aside in case it goes up, maybe some on the side to trade and buy things with, but don't let it completely replace other forms of cash, as it may not be the best payment option.
Have a great day, The Cyberius team.

That's great but i wouldn't use bitcoin to pay for bills etc, i would rather hold it because it is scarce and i know bitcoin price will hit 5-6 figures in the future. Using coins.pH is good but the fees are enormous, time for some remittance company like western union to enter crypto.

Well If I am not mistaken we could book flight with our local wallet and also pay for some online shop like LAZADA . We could use our credit card or debit card for purchasing online and we could pay our credit card and debit card bills through Coins so basically we could pay anything with BTC. Coins is our bridge to spending crypto into the real world.

Obviously, all of us will be affected not just the Philippines if ever there is a wild spread black out as transactions needed to used the internet. B. The price can fluctuate wildly. When the bubble burst, many people lost the majority of their money, would hate to see that happen to people in the Philippines.
I'm sure they have that in mind, most Filipinos here have been here prior to the big boom in 2017. So they should know by now how crypto works to their advantage. Maybe have some Bitcoin set aside in case it goes up, maybe some on the side to trade and buy things with, but don't let it completely replace other forms of cash, as it may not be the best payment option.

I don't think that Philippines will be a cashless society, I'm not seeing it in the next 5-10 years or more. They still rely on their local banks, but at least those they have more options right now and happy that the current administration is very supported of crypto-currency although coins.ph is heavily regulated (KYC/AML compliant).

The Philippines is one of the countries in Southeast Asia that is thinking forward where to improve the world of tourism, opening up to the use of cryptocurrency. The government only makes regulations that can reduce the abuse of crypto for the progress of development in their country.
