Here in the Philippines we could use our local wallet called coins.ph to buy load pay for our electric, water and credit card bills and even book for travel.
Yes,it was but also there are so many wallet that we could use for everyday life here in the Philippines ,i think our country was totally embracing what is crypto was,so im totally glad to have here just like what you express. The convenience of having that kind of crypto wallet app is really something! Imagine not having to stand in line just to pay the bills is definitely a dream come true. I also use the same app to pay my bills, however, I don't really use bitcoin to pay for those. I simply use the local currency wallet instead. Bitcoin is the future so I'm saving and holding as much as I can.

here in my country philipines, we dont need to use a bitcoin for buying anything or something in mall or hotel and convenient store, because Bitcoin is not totaly well known by the people in this country of philipines even the coin.ph is not totaly use. my idea or my opinion is to hold the Bitcoin token and gamble for another transaction and to earn more.
Coins.ph is really helpful not only on receiving and sending BTC, ETH,XRP but only on paying utlity bills it was a great help for payment convenience. I'm glad the government let this type of platforms operates inside the Philippines. But again BTC is not accepted currency to any merchants, only conversion.

In fact, Coins.ph has done a great job introducing cryptocurrency to the masses, even if you do not know anything about Cryptocurrency, their rewards system is enough for you to verify your account, they also had a lot of articles about Cryptocurrency, I'm using Coins.ph to pay my bills and I do not need to line up, it makes things life easier for me.

In my country, there are lesser stores that accept bitcoin as payment. And for the record, if you heard GCASH, that is the used wallet in my country.

Yes it's true! Actually they are also collaborating with banks to send and receive money through banks. Last April 3, 2019 they collaborated with western union (Check this article:https://www.unblock.news/news/coins-ph-collaborates-with-western-union-for-money-transfers).

It is good that btc can be use to pay bills and other expenses, but the question is, is it really wise to use btc to pay for your bills instead of using fiat? don't get me wrong, am also in support of global adoption et'al, but i do think it is more expensive to pay in btc than in fiat, so i would rather make my payment using fiat, it's not like btc is very affordable to all, what happens if the price of btc go back to what it was 2yrs back? will people still be happy to make transactions and pay bills with it? (food for thought)

It is good to know that a lot of countries are starting to be aware of crytocurrency. Using coins.ph in our country is really convenient. We get rebates and discounts too if we use the web wallet to pay bills nd utilities.
Philippines seem to be the luckiest to adopt cryptocurrency for her citizens. The government of the Philippines are doing great becasue her citizen can use cryptocurrency to pay bills and also, give them the power to accumulate coins to their respective wallet for use. Using coins.ph look great as it come with some discounts. That is right we are lucky citizens of this country which is the Philippines because count to think of it we have own wallet and if we see their service they are better compared to the other wallet. I like coind.ph because we have rebate like 10 percent if buy load using this wallet and also we have promos like money if we pay bills using this and msny more promos and discount.

I prefer to pay my bills the old fashioned way with my debit card via an online paying portal because there are no fees. I am a proponent of crypto businesses pushing the technology and convenience of paying forward, but their services usually have cheeky fees chucked everywhere and it's definitely a no go for me as a frequent method of payment. My 2 satoshis.

But I wouldn't use Bitcoin to pay for anything that fiat can pay with unless it's very necessary, if I were you. Bitcoin is a provably scarce resource, don't waste it. HODL. Maybe what the OP is trying to say is that in the Philippines, you can spend your bitcoins just like what others may have wanted it to be, for micro payment transactions. I'm sure that with the OP's rank, he knows a thing or two with the word, HODL. He/she may have experimented paying monthly bills with his bitcoins, but for sure he/she may have stash some of it for the purpose of HODLing. obviously haha if people keeps on saying hold your btc then bitcoin adaptation is far from real if you wont allow yourself using it to pay your bills ,your foods even your travel expense right?

It is encouraging news from a country when Bitcoin can be used to pay bills even to travel, but even though this can be done using Bitcoin, of course I would choose to use fiat. because I will collect as much Bitcoin as possible.

I've noted a large amount of users from the Philippines on this forum. They have a very low minimum wage in their country so that may be the reason a lot of them flock here. Crypto is much more widely used in Asia compared to the western world.

For me its just the same thing bro, later on you would be withdrawing your bitcoins to fiat to pay for bills if you are only base on bitcoin earnings, and it makes paying more convinient by you not going to stand a long line on paying

According to some information published in online newspapers, you can pay most of the costs in this country. Now that the Philippines has installed the first Bitcoin ATM in this country, you can convert Bitcoin into pesos and vice versa. The Philippines is a great country, and this is where we should travel in the future.
Yes, with this exchange wallet if you have Bitcoin to use for travelling in our country you don't need to bother going to banks changing your money or fiat into PHP. Instead, you can just send some BTC to your coins.ph wallet and cash it out on banks and money pickups. It is easier here if most of the tourist spots are accepting Bitcoin, that will be more efficient to tourists that want to spend their BTCs. Not only that, there are 7-11 kiosk around wherein you can buy bitcoin. But I would agree that if tourist spots started to accept bitcoin, I'm sure it will be more convenient for most tourist. I'm not sure how much is adoption in the country except for coins.ph as major exchanges in the Philippines. I think that it is a great idea there are so many tourist spot in the Philippines I think it would be great if they would also starts accepting crypto payments. We can use bitcoin to pay bills, load and for travel in the Philippines but we are using a third party program. We can't really use bitcoin to pay in an embassy, or a loading center or even in some bills center directly. Although on that third party program you can pay your bills, have load, and travel without any hassle. In op, it's like its hyping everybody on how bitcoin works in the Philippines but no. Yup I am aware of GCASH we are also using it here in the Philippines. I think we are all aware of it that we are using third party program whenever we are using Coins to pay our bills, buy loads and other stuff. I am not hyping it I am just simple proud of what we could do on our crypto here in the Philippines.

It is not still applicable directly to use bitcoin in any transactions such as paying bills and others, you have to go through coins.ph to exchange it and through coins transferring it to your local philippine wallet then you can already use it in paying your bills.

It's really great. But the question is how much profit able thing for you. Because bitcoin is such a precious cryto coin. You better to hold it. Who knows one day it will rise 100000$ per coin.

several shops and shopping centers on the island of Bali, Indonesia. also can accept bitcoin as a payment tool even though our country has made regulations about it, but not all financial activities we can do with bitcoin, here, we use bitcoin with limits.

It is a good sign that the Philippine government is starting to adapt crypto currencies even thought they haven't legalize it. Paying some bills using crypto currency is very interesting as it will help our daily activities more faster.
Thought bitcoin or any currencies still has a long way of acceptance especially if the government will not legalize it yet. Let's just hope that in the near future, Philippines will be the additional country to legalize bitcoin and other useful currencies.

Most of the countries around the world has got such a limited access to bitcoin usage. Philippines being one of the country with the increased number of bitcoin users giving access to such a large number of usage with direct bitcoin acceptance is really good. Though it is a small country they are highly adoptive to technology. Following this can expect more countries to adopt bitcoin.
