~ CMC needs a bigger volume from a lot of coins or tokens to be able to show the market cap movements and adding them will attract more users.

They don't add just any token or coin, but you are right in general, it looks like they are trying to list as much coins/tokens as possible. It's no wonder that have added the words in brackets to their Listings Criteria recently:

For a cryptocurrency to be listed on the site, it must meet the following criteria:

- Must fit the definition of a cryptocurrency.

- Must be traded publicly, and actively traded on at least two (2) exchanges that are supported on CoinMarketCap (if the cryptocurrency is an exchange-based token only traded on its own exchange, we may add it given that off-platform withdrawals are possible).

Note that these are only necessary conditions and meeting them does not guarantee a listing. Please see tips below for increasing chances of your project being listed.

We've got over 2,000 coins/tokens listed on CMC already, and we are going to have much more of them in the future. And yet I think creating your own coin and adding it on CMC is not that easy and definitely not free. I guess it's $10,000 minimum, and it's much more than that in most cases.

Creating a token or starting your own copy cat coin is nowadays as easy as that a high school boy can do that. So, it's normal that thousands of coins are there but problem is everyone is shit.

if you have $100 you can have your own token and a whitepaper for your project, this is a very cheap for a start an additional $400 you can launch your own ICO you can hire people on the service section or on Fiverr to be part of your team and create your website, you do not need to spend more on bounty campaign you have your token to give away, that's how easy it is.

Yes, it has turned much easy for anyone to launch their own token sale along with the Initial Coin Offering sale which is heavily crowding the ICO markets. Peoples are trying to create as much as possible scam projects which have no other intention rather that collecting the funds and running away.

I think trusting only those ICO which are been running since years might be good for each investor as newly launched ICOs can’t be trusted.

and they have a decent market cap worth 1000's of dollars..
How do people just make there own coins that easy? and how are they raising so much money??

I do not know how it is done, but I can assume that this is a very profitable activity. Also I think that only people with connections and money can do it.

Getting into the coinmarketcap is not that easy now, these new coins that have been added have gone through a lot of processes, you should check the announcement sections and see how many coins are added daily and these coins will have little chances to succeed or even get into the coinmarketcap.

It's not a profitable activity but it's a very bad thing, the total coins already increased a lot but remember CMC never try to delist the dead coins and that means if they are all still trying to keep these dead coins.

Indeed, every day there are just new coins added to the market. Now it's easier to make new coins because we can make a ride on another blockchain coin. I only suggest to developers to make coins that are really useful. I hope that developers create coins that have good technology and can compete. If the coin that appears only duplicates the previous coin technology, then the coin should not be raised because it only makes the market full of something worthless.

Yes, it is possible to skip a sequence in CMC with a few trading transactions. But now it's not easy to get into the CMC. The conditions are getting harder every day.

I think this is easier now, because volume is no longer the benchmark. As what I said before;

The minimum is traded on 2 exchanges (Exchange listed on CMC), and has cryptocurrency characteristics.

Now, the volume is easy played by bots.

Was going to start a thread on this issues of thousands of tokens out there with hundreds coming up weekly. So crazy with useless or no product, some will still want to do ICO leaving greedy Investors who can do due diligence to suffer at the end. Too bad

It is not listed there without a reason. first of all you need to list on an exchange and have a volume of more than $10,000 within 24hrs to get listed there.
Actually you also can create a coin out of nothing. you just need a team and an advisor and also a project that support your coin.

No they have been harder in the past I think when you needed a lot of trades to qualify for their website. Today you don't need that much anymore.

Even though the coin is new but can provide results and can be used correctly, of course the coin will be used by many people and will be used.
if only a new coin is useless and has no value, it will become rubbish and useless.
so we choose new coins and we find out whether they can be used correctly or not.

Many of these coins, as the market capitalization increases and bitcoin grows, will increase their volumes and become liquid. It's a matter of time, my friend.

There are lots of coins and tokens being created on a daily basis, but not all of them get listed on exchanges let alone on an index and some are created as more a hobby for geeks or enthusiasts whereas others are created for professional purposes such as startups who want to launch their own utility or security token or community driven projects that want to launch a new innovation so determine what types you find most interesting and avoid the ones that aren't useful
