This is the third time when I decide to describe my own story in this forum.

The first post "about myself" I wrote here after winning the first merit ever Short story about being merited….
51 days later, when by some miracle I was promoted to full user rank, I wrote another (though significantly shorter) post about my own story „Self made” Full member thanks to Theymos? Not exactly, but in a sense…
Today, another 4 months passed (although in fact 2 because between 27 November and 23 January I hardly looked here) and I managed to achieve the rank of Sr. Member.

The last days have been particularly kind to me, although actually i should say not days but some users, and in particular several merit sources who strongly boosted me in the field of merits.

Ok, that's enough of admiring myself, so I'll get to this what's really important. If any of you have read any of my previous posts, which I mentioned above, you know that I really came across this forum hoping for easy and quick earnings thanks to the bounty. Changing the rules of promotion (at least 1 merit to become a jr. Member) "forced me" to start real activity and contribution to the forum.
After receiving the first merit, it turned out that getting merit is not impossible, what's more, there is a real chance to get at least a few of them. A few days later, I found out that even if you are not a professional crypto player, you can get a lot more Merits and it is not impossible to get promoted to the next level. I understood that what is really important is to contribute to the discussions and be active in it. Nevertheless, at the beginning I tried to create posts "that are supposed to get merit", but later I focused on the contribution to my local (Polish) board where we had a real lack of posts and our board was overlooked even by our local users. It turned out then that even without hunting for merits, only by focusing on the standard posting, the merits appear themselves.

What is the most important i'd like to show through this post (especially for low ranked users who think, that they are not able to get higher rank): YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A PROFESSIONAL AT CRYPTO FIELD TO GET PROMOTED EVEN WITH THE MERIT SYSTEM. I am the best example - being still an amateur who was not afraid that he would never reach the rank of jr. member (whole one merit!) in 171 days I managed to get here ...

Finally, as in the previous post, which I wrote after promotion to the rank of Full Member „Self made” Full member thanks to Theymos? Not exactly, but in a sense…, I would like to thank several users of this forum:

Firstly I have to thank @Theymos - although he did not help me directly, his decision to introduce new rules was the catalyst that mobilized me to work.

Secondly but much more I want to thank all of you who have read, criticized, discussed, sometimes even quoted but in particular rewarded my posts with merits.

Sepecial thanks to:
@DarkStar_ for giving me my first merit ever and also the hope that I’m able to get any
@TMAN  for giving me as many as 12 merit for single post
@DdmrDdmr for  Bitcointalk Merit Dashboard , @Piggy for Tool to run online SQL queries over Full Merit Data and @Vod for Announcing BPIP - The Bitcointalk Public Information Project! - all of them have created great tools for merit and user analysis which helped me a lot to get many of my merits
@wwzsocki and  @Tytanowy Janusz for their efforts to improve the level of discussion on the Polish local board
@BitCryptex for inspiration and encouraging me and many other polish posters
@suchmoon, @o_e_l_e_o and @dbshck for boosting my promotion

and
@adamvp, @bitart, @BitMaxz, @bones261, @cabron, @cornl, @Direwolve735, @Don Pedro Dinero, @DooMAD, @Faper, @Farul, @Flangler, @Foxpup, @guybrushthreepwood, @Heisenberg_Hunter, @Hexah, @hilariousandco, @iasenko, @JayJuanGee, @Jet Cash, @Kemarit, @kotwica666, @krogothmanhattan, @LFC_Bitcoin, @loughlin, @LoyceV, @LTU_btc, @malevolent, @marlboroza, @nid125@pawel7777, @poptok1, @S_Therapist, @Sheme, @stingers, @stompix, @STT@taikuri13, @vlad230, @Welsh, @wgd for rewarding my posts with merits.

I took a look at the first page of your post history, and most of them are just 1-liners in Meta that don't really add much.  You don't seem to be a bad writer, so perhaps if you put more thought into what you write about, i.e., expand upon your ideas, you might earn more merits.

OP, congrats on ranking up this far.  It's not easy to do so, and it's not supposed to be, but at least by tooting your own horn a bit you call attention to the fact that it can be done.  And there certainly are others who've earned a lot of merits very quickly (Coolcryptovator, cryptobraineurboss, and others) without English being their first language (and while posting in the English section, too).  You and the members I mentioned put some time into what they write, and that tends to not go unnoticed.

Earning merits isn't rocket science, and I've said that plenty of times.  If anyone is still befuddled as to how to earn them, just take a look at the members who've earned the most, either recent or all-time.  Their posts should be a guide for how to do it.

Ooops.
You made me shocked, OP.
In fact, I known about your story days ago, when you got massive merits in-a-row and ranked up.
Your case, once again, a very good example that merits come naturally to quality contributions (posts/ topics).
Sometimes, they come sparsely, whilst sometimes they come abundantly and consecutively.
I experienced it myself, too.

Before ranking up to a Full Member, I felt tired, extremely tired and almost gave up.
After the day I ranked up, consecutive weeks later, merits come to me in-a-row, I earned around more than 120 merits since Dec. 2018. It's too fast.
Recent weeks, it seems that I got stucked again, but I will keep contributing constructive, helpful things, and don't give up.
Some day, I will cross the Senior Finish Line.

Congratulations, cryptovigi!

Congratulations.... once again you prove that merit system working fine. I know the feeling about self made. Although it's not very easy to earn merit, but once we rank up by earn merit there is different happiness. Hope you will contribute yourself for forum like before.

I have also earned Hero potential merit but due activity I am still Sr. Member. Hope soon I will got my appropriate rank.

Wondering why there is no any activity sources Grin

Congrats bud, I gave you my last merit as you deserve it. Your story reminds me of my own story as well (even though I didn't wrote/posted it) because we're almost the same, I guess.

I've been here for some time and joined a lot of discussions but I'm not a crypto professional as well. I shared what I know and able to helped others back in 2018 where I spent my everyday visiting and reading discussions (days where I still have a lot of free time) here in Bitcointalk without being a crypto professional. Like what I said on this thread lately, we don't really need to be a crypto legend in order to join discussions and participate here in Bitcointalk, we just need to cooperate and understand each other, and you really are one best example of that person.

Congratulating you again buddy, ranking up from zero to Sr. Member is really a challenge but you still managed in time. Keep it up  Smiley

Edit.
I have also earned Hero potential merit but due activity I am still Sr. Member. Hope soon I will got my appropriate rank.
Activity isn't a problem  Tongue You're too lucky that you just need to wait for some time to rank up.
Anyway, I'm too disappointed that I didn't managed to monitor your Merits since we were at the same amount of Merits before? Tongue (if I'm not mistaken as I become inactive for a long time). But besides, congratulating you in advance as hero member, I'm afraid that I might missed that day due to busyness  Grin

The case of cryptovigi, demonstrates the fact that promoted users will got abundantly merits after each time they ranked up.
Look at this, after promoted, cryptovigi got more than 20 merits in a few days. That is the same as what I experienced after promoted to a Full Member months ago.

And there certainly are others who've earned a lot of merits very quickly (Coolcryptovator, cryptobraineurboss, CryptopreneurBrainboss and others) without English being their first language.

Aww that's nice of you to notice me even without starting a thread to congratulate myself. Although you misspelled my name, could this be cause by the lack of we encountering ourselves on threads regularly lol. You need to keep a tag on beginner and help board Phar, the board is clean 99% of spammers and interesting disscussion are attracting new merit sources like Suchmoon, Welsh, dbshck etc. They boosted me.

OP congratulations on your achievement but don't relax because where the challenges lies is in ranking up to Hero member only (deserving) users achieve that rank. I was to use this stats gotten from DdmrDdmr for my upcoming topic but stopped.

Statistics for users that ranked up from newbie, Jr, member, full member and snr member to Hero rank.

This is a screenshot from the BitcoinTalk Merit Dashboard:

What it shows is that:
From newbie to snr member then to hero member: 0 (I may be the first in a couple of months)
From jnr member to snr member then to Hero member: 0
From member to snr member then to hero member: 4 (names on Dashboard)
From full member to snr member then to hero member: 10 (names on Dashboard)
From Sr. member to hero member: 22 (names on Dashboard)

Aside from that, the Merit Dashboard tab called “Ranking-up pipeline” shows that:
-   1.200 Sr. Member could have ranked-up to Hero, but lack the Merits.
-   16 Sr. Member could have ranked-up to Hero, but lack activity.
-   5 Sr. Member are near to ranking-up to Hero, but lack activity and merit (need less than 20% more on both accounts).
-   798 Sr. Members lack both activity and Merits (in greagter than 20% on both accounts).

   DdmrDdmr

I am also not pro and nor do I expect anybody to pro. You need every type of people to complete a ecosystem.
I guess ,in our ecosystem we need technical people, miners, translators, traders, innovators , marketers ,service providers ,end users and so on. Nobody should feel that they are left out in this forum.

Congrats mate, you deserved that rank. You gave me more confidence and being motivated in my self to have a good post in order to rank up and even I am trying hard with my English proficiency skills still stuck up on this rank. You proved that the merit system will work fine even others say that it is dying.

The following is a summary of your personal stats, which are already outdated since you’ve gained 42 sMerits since last Friday. What is also important to point out is you contribution to your local board, which is very important to keep them running with a certain degree on interest, andr that is not easy to maintain at times.

Congratulations!

Congratulations, cryptogivi.
You are a strong guy, survived and promoted well thorough the merit challenges.
Eventually, merits are unable to ruin your life.
Additionally, it is more impressive promotion with the time you moved between Full Member and Senior Member ranks.  It is a really short period.
You motivated me a lot with your fastly promotions, two times (firstly, Full Member promotion; secondly, Senior Member promotion).

Thanks guys - all congratulations and warm words that you wrote in this thread perfectly tickled my ego ;-)

In addition, I received a very cool poster from my Merit (promotion) story from @DdmrDdmr for which I already make room for the wall.

I particularly like the words CryptopreneurBrainboss:
...
OP congratulations on your achievement but don't relax because where the challenges lies is in ranking up to Hero member only (deserving) users achieve that rank.
...
I've written it many times, but I think I will repeat it again. When it turned out that I needed one (whole 1) merit I was depressed and regained Jr. Member seemed impossible (at least in a fair way). A few days later, when there were a few merits on my Merit account, I noticed that such a promoted system - through merits - is fun and challenging so I started looking at Full member rank and then senior. I still find it difficult to get Hero, but on the other hand it's really just a repetition of what I've managed, so I'm sure it's within reach...
So maybe ... in a few months ... you'll read one more similar thread from me... we will see ... ;-)

and @tranthidung
...
Recent weeks, it seems that I got stucked again, but I will keep contributing constructive, helpful things, and don't give up.
Some day, I will cross the Senior Finish Line.
...
I'm sure that we'll meet at Senior line  no later than in a few days... I will wait here for you ;-)

Thank you for the tip. It seems that I am satisfied with full member rank and 'not trying enough'. Where there is will, there is a way, otherwise excuses.
