I'm getting a bit discouraged. Every now and again I try to start a topic for discussion, but often they don't seem to attract much of a response. So if we leave out the primary topics of Bitcoin technicals and help, and board maintenance such as ban appeals, what would you like to see discussed in the Bitcoin Talk forum that doesn't appear regularly?  We can skip the underworld topics like bounty and ICOs as well.

Unfortunately, most of the interesting topics are overshadowed by the sheer volume of posts required by most campaign signatures. The attention is mostly focused on completing this quota and topics that are actually interesting are ignored.
I find topics interesting under off-topics and the serious discussion as everyone seem to reply with thought and maturity.

Lately I've been thinking about ways to spend any bitcoin that I get my hands on, and I'd really like to see an updated (and maintained) list of online merchants that accept bitcoin as payment.  Yes, I've done google searches on this, but some of the lists aren't kept up and merchants on them sometimes no longer take bitcoin.  In particular, I'd like to know of sites that sell a wide variety of goods like Amazon, but I'd be interested in pretty much anything.  I haven't seen such a list in quite a while on bitcointalk, and it seems like it'd be important to have such a thing and to have some sort of discussion around it.

I'd also like to know about some of the more well-known members personally, but I don't suspect that many of them are willing to share any details.  Sometimes I feel like most of the people here are just bots with no personality whatsoever.  Most shitposts are written so generically that they don't say anything about the person who's writing them--and with the vast majority of posts here being shitposts, I am getting very tired of empty platitudes and statements that say nothing.  I was very happy to learn a little about Jet Cash and that some members I'm familiar with actually live within a day's drive from me.  That's the stuff I'm interested in.

...
If you sign up for a bitcoin backed debit card (I know it's really rare to find a really working one, there were topics, updated regurarly in the past, about these cards), you can buy things from every merchant using your bitcoins. But I know that you have to complete KYC and AML checks to be able to get a working bictoin debit card, so it won't be a good solution for everyone who wants to spend bitcoins here.
In a few years time we'll see who will accept bitcoin and who will use different coins for instant payments...

I’d like a list of community projects. I’d love to offer my help or support to projects that interact with the blockchain, but all I ever seem to find is people selling goods with a Bitcoin logo on them for their own profit. I’m sure there are people working on cool stuff that exists on the blockchain, for reasons other than enriching themselves, but I only know of one.

Altcoin Development and Technical Discussions in general. Basically this board but only focused on anything that isn't or can not be implemented in bitcoin. In fact for some time now, I have been wishing we had such a board as a subcategory of the board I linked.

I am more interested on knowing some users that is currently students like me, and using bitcoin and ethereun for trades. Also expecting for some gamers and anime lovers to be in here,...

And you can add the mining discussion where students wants to participate in just a small amount of invesments.

(Student Community For Bitcointalk Smiley - Well its kinda more likely a Beginners & Help though.

I would love to read about users life experience maybe on the serious discussion or Ivory tower board. How bitcoin has affected their life's, I know we have many senior citizens among us I'll love to tap from their knowledge and experience on how life should be handled. Take some break from discussing bitcoin price and when moon or lambo and just discuss general stuffs that affects our everyday life.

I have little to absolutely no knowledge on how mining works, what are the ASIC's used currently, by what technology they are being developed etc. Also I am not interested to have a step in the Mining Board with less knowledge to what is happening and to understand something new (Mining board is strictly moderated is another fact). Hence I would like to have a Mining Discussion board for beginners like me and along with that I do have a interest in Alts. Their technology inspires me to read more on them, but I dont see any good discussion taking place in Altcoin Discussion. Hence I would like to see a general Mining Discussion board and a Alt Technical Discussion board.

Though I have never visited the off-topic board recently, but they tend to consist of some interesting and hilarious topics to discuss. But sadly most of them are getting derailed from the Op with lots and lots of spams. Hence an alternative would be to create something like Serious Discussion board for discussing very usual general topics. We also need to note that, anything which doesn't fit in the Btc discussion are getting moved to the Off-Topic board, thats primarily the reason people are not interested in creating and discussing such topics. I also like to have a Telegram group filled with non-spammers of this forum which will also help us in getting connected more often. Smiley

I would like to see more topics about Lightning Network and people's testimony of using that in shops, microtransactions, etc., not about the technical stuff like this.
Currently, this information is spreading across the internet and very difficult to track.

Small-scale business owners promoting their services/merchandise on a dedicated sub-forum and not just on the Services/Service Discussion/Local section of this forum. It's about time that we actually try to help the little guys trying to integrate bitcoin and crypto in their businesses and are trying to help the adoption of crypto in general. We are often busy focusing on large retail chains and services accepting crypto on their payment methods that we forget the little guys striving to get the word out to other people.

If you want to participate on Bitcointalk in hard-mode, try to post a serious topic in Altcoin Discussion and see how many responses you get there.
Almost guaranteed that your topic is just buried, if you're lucky you might get one or two responses.

The only topics that work there are those that have clickbait titles and talk about some sort of price speculation related topic or bounty hunting.

what would you like to see discussed in the Bitcoin Talk forum that doesn't appear regularly?  We can skip the underworld topics like bounty and ICOs as well.

The topics I always find most interesting are those that talk about innovative new projects made by the members of this forum.
Could be anything really, someone making an interesting cryptocurrency-related art project or someone who's developing an interesting application.

They do appear sometimes, especially in Project Development, but even there you usually find stuff that's already been done before.

It would be nice to get to know and discuss the most interesting examples of actual use of blockchain technology taking into account the consistent growth of the digital currency world and the fact that a blockchain up-ends almost every area.

I would love to read about users life experience

You can learn a lot from me, especially about the things you shouldn't do. For example. if you are going to have a long term relationship, don't choose a girl in San Francisco when you are living in London. One of the great inventors stated that creating successful innovations is 5% inspiration, and 95% perspiration. I have tried to reverse this, but without a great deal of success. I've also tried to split myself between HODLing and trading, and have ended up spending more time talking about it than making money.

On a more serious note - if you are going to use any crypto-currencies, I believe it is important to understand the basics of Bitcoin and its blockchain, and this forum is probably the best place for any newcomer to gain a basic understanding. Once you have an idea of the future potential of the banking revolution it spawned, then you can decide on alternatives/additions.

One thing I would like to see is a training Blockchain for Bitcoin Talk members. It could let newbies run a variety of nodes without the overhead of downloading the full blockchain. I'd support this if somebody wants to start it, but I'm having to cut back on projects that I'm ( trying ) to run at the moment. I'm aware of the Testnet, but I believe a BT members' one would attract more interest, and could be of benefit to the forum and its members.

I would like to see a brand new Bitcoin Discussion board with genuine discussions and not a spam fest. Opening the board and seeing 200+ replies everywhere I look is sad. Although it is getting a little better now but it is still not a place where I want to spend my time.

The way you are now, I know you can actually write a book yourself, about things that can be of help for the community. Though I'm not pushing you to do it but I think its just a good thing. Tongue

I'm also interested on your story mate... I think we can spend a time on Mcdonalds in the future Cheesy Just stay healthy so it can be possible, a two more years I'll be graduating from college.
