Since it involved changing of email and locking of account. The procedure you shared in the link should be the best option for OP rather than wait for mods because they won't be able to help him.
He has to email the account recoveries team with the original email he used to register the account precisely stating what exactly happened.

I don't think moderators will unblock this account since OP tried to change email address. It will be consider attempt to hack account since OP locked his account. It would be better to follow account recover process, Recovering hacked/lost accounts ,

If you get a message similar to "your account is locked"

You should be given an email address in the error message. Send an email there and you will be given further instructions.

The total amount of accounts in the forum is more than 2.5 million if I am correct. A lot of people face this kind of problems. The queue should be long, you have nothing but to wait.
