It looks like Visa is also interested in to joining crypto currencies

According to the job posting on SmartRecruiters, a San Francisco based recruiting firm, VISA Fintech is looking for a technical product manager to manage the product strategy and roadmap for cryptocurrency related opportunities

The job posting also clearly states that ViSA is planning to establish a “Visa Crypto Team,” with the to-be-hired product manager directing strategy within their evolving “cryptocurrency ecosystem”

http://bitcoingape.com/billion-dollar-payment-platform-visa-posts-job-opening-for-cryptocurrency/

Kind of madness with that giant companies
We had news about JPM. Facebook and IBM payments system https://www.theblockcrypto.com/tiny/ibm-signs-6-banking-clients-for-its-blockchain-based-payments-network-announces-stablecoin-partnership/
And today i read about Visa

One more news worth to mention is that E-commerce giant from Switzerland  will accept payments with some crypto currencies.First only in Switzerland than also in Germany

https://coingape.com/switzerland-ecommenrce-giant-accepting-bitcoin/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_source=Mailchimp+subscribers&utm_campaign=21c7bb1b4e-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2019_01_23_06_57_COPY_24&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_acc72fc580-21c7bb1b4e-75480287

From all that news i see that there is no more talks about illegal use of crypto currencies what is best news

Good news, VISA is no brainer a huge company.

Good news, VISA is no brainer a huge company.

So this is the result of what they've said before that crypto's aren't threat and the planned made was last year of moving to crypto assets.
They already made all opponents offside while themselves entering the crypto area. It is meaningless to have VISA cards if there is a better alternative for making payments in both real and online life.

The word cryptocurrency is now being used for every digital coin, though, like the JPMorgan or Facebook coin, it will be a central coin that may be a bit decentralized, but wherever a specific intervention is possible if needed. From a regulatory point of view, a bank or a payment service provider like Vista will never be able to rely completely on a "real" decentralized cryptocurrency.

Here's a bit from the job summary and job description for VISA's Technical Product Manager

Job Description

Are you passionate about the intersection of payments and cryptocurrency? Are you deeply familiar with permissionless blockchain technology and have a close network of experts in the fast moving cryptocurrency and fintech ecosystem? Are you excited about the challenge of developing new products for Visa to deliver value to fintechs looking to support cryptocurrencies?

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the product strategy and roadmap for cryptocurrency related opportunities
  • Define product scope and feature prioritization and be flexible to iterate/change per latest developments to meet deadlines
  • Ideate and execute opportunities to build products that leverage Visa’s core competencies
  • Influence and provide market feedback and knowledge sharing to the entire cross-functional team and executive leadership
  • Work closely with all stakeholders to ensure successful end-to-end delivery of products
  • Keep up with cutting edge technology especially open source projects, and strive to contribute to Visa’s IP portfolio

I think with Visa's Job description and responsibility it just confirms us that there is some kind of crypto product coming from their company. And I think them being a popular card company will receive a lot of backlash by having another kind of payment system not related to their main business, well it will still depend on what kind of crypto product they will release. If it does not affect with their main business and it supports it then I think their users would love the addition.

Good news but I don't think it can improve the market condition. As mentioned above, VISA is possibly looking to create their own "cryptocurrency". Though I'm not sure, but it's also possible that they will accept other crypto for the purpose of their business (collecting fees from transactions).

Anyway, looks like blockchain is going to stay.

It could be considered for them as a great financial move, and we know that there are possible bigger players that will come to the crypto space. It is possible to have higher prices, but I think they have a different plan with that like they would create their cryptos like JPM or any other big companies that want to have complete control over it. It's just financial gains they want and to have full control over that, they need to control the coin itself.

That's great news. Time will come when all the tech giant companies will realize the usefulness of the blockchain technology either for tokenization of their products or for transpiracy then adopt the technology.  We already have the like of Facebook coming into the market and now Visa. very soon master card will join the party and many more fin and tech companies, resulting to the next bull run.

it seems to be the same as it already is, everything is just a mere discourse or just a hype when crypto became popular and is currently falling.

Visa seems to be interested in creating their own cryptocurrency and embedding some of their technology to produce an ever faster, more secure and more efficient payment system. We literally know that they will never leave fiat alone knowing that's where the bulk of their profits came from, and perhaps this is just another service they want to offer people through a different medium and by riding the hype of blockchain and cryptocurrencies lately. You know it's serious when even the world's largest payment processor wants to get a taste of crypto action, be it directly or indirectly, embedded on their services.

I suspect that they are going to use cryptocurrencies for their bank transaction. Like you are using your bank card like you usually do but transaction is performed in crypto stablecoin that is attached to your local currency and everything will happen on visa blockchain.
In this case it might reduce the transaction costs and then decrease fees for users. I'm sure they are not going to make a coin with a free price.

Indeed a good and welcoming news but honestly I am not surprised as I highly expected this types of adoptions. Not just visa, we can expect each and every business and government may come forward to adopt either bitcoin or blockchain technology in near future itself.

In my observation, businesses are now a days started getting convinced to adopt blockchain technology for improving their business and this must be a first step toward adopting bitcoin as one of their payment option later on still it may take a decade of time too before they will be realizing the benefits of adopting bitcoins for efficient (cross border transactions, for example) business.

I read this news yesterday. It seems to me that this is very indicative news. Large companies see prospects in the blockchain and cryptocurrencies and do not want to keep up with competitors. No one wants to be behind in the new technical revolution. This once again proves that those people who continue to hold cryptocurrencies in the future will be generously rewarded. Patience is the best benefactor. Personally, I am ready to keep cryptocurrency for 3-5 years. Blockchain is a very young technology, and it seems to me that it will still have a very strong impetus.

US Payment Giant Visa Seeks Crypto and Blockchain Talent for Tech Product Manager
https://cointelegraph.com/news/us-payment-giant-visa-seeks-crypto-and-blockchain-talent-for-tech-product-manager

American payment services firm Visa has published a crypto and blockchain-related job opening on San Francisco-based recruiting software firm SmartRecruiters on March 6.

Global financial services corporation Visa is seeking blockchain talent for the position of Technical Product Manager at Visa Fintech in their Palo Alto office. The person will be responsible for the execution of Visa’s product strategy within a cryptocurrency ecosystem, and will be required to manage the roadmap for crypto-related opportunities.

According to the job description, the person should be possess a functional knowledge of the crypto industry and major players involved, as well as in-depth knowledge of distributed ledger technology and a deep understanding of existing retail payment solutions. Familiarity with advanced cryptography will be preferred, the job description notes.

The individual will be working in close collaboration with the Visa Research team in order to develop new products to deliver value to Visa’s fintech initiative.

Last year, Visa CEO Al Kelly declared that cryptocurrencies do not pose a challenge to the company’s dominance in the payment sphere in the short- to medium-term. Kelly stated that crypto needs to move from being a commodity to really being a payment instrument before it can represent a real competitor to the traditional financial system.

In late 2018, Reuters reported that Visa is acquiring a partner of major cryptocurrency company Ripple, the entity which runs third biggest coin by market cap XRP. With the acquisition of Ripple’s international payments-focused firm Earthport, Visa reportedly intends to integrate Ripple’s protocol into the company’s existing payment network to boost cross-border transactions.

Recently, founder of crypto investment firm Morgan Creek Digital Assets suggested that major United States retailer Kroger should use the blockchain-enabled protocol Lightning Network as a payment system, following the brand’s decision to stop accepting Visa at some locations on March 1.

It is still good news because it can help to promote the cryptocurrency to other people. We know Visa is big company . So it means millions of user are using Visa so we have possible to have millions investor also in the future. Incase Visa are really creating their coin own cryptocurrency it will increase the price fastly and it is still helpful to the crypto market because we know before they buy Visa they will able to purchase first bitcoin and the money will add to the funds of the cryptomarket.

It's means that Visa has seen crypto has big potential financially that's why they are testing the waters now. They are looking for a Product Manager, which means that they are really interested on joining crypto.

Might be the same as Facebook though, but still this is a welcoming news as Visa is a vocal proponent of bitcoin before so this sudden switch is an indication or probably set a precedence for other services to join the picture as well. So let's see how it goes, potentially 2020 is a good target, as everyone says that this is when the bull run starts.

We still not sure for its process in payment either they created their own coin and that's the only accepted coins for them. But we can't neglect any possibilities that they'll also accepting Bitcoin and Ethereum.
Anyways, it is still in the rumors and we just wait for its final lunch to see how it affects into crypto adoption.

Visa being one of the big firm who has his role on each and every transaction that's been made digital now coming with the plan to enter cryptocurrency is really a good news. Visa already does a large number of transactions every minute and the same is when gets incorporated with bitcoin acceptance it'll surely move forward making a big change in the entire cryptocurrency network.

I assume they are going to perform transactions on their own blockchain and if they launch a cryptocurrency it will only be available for VISA users. So i am not sure what impact will this have on the cryptocurrency market since this could possibly be a private coin, just like JPcoin is.

Of course, Visa wants in on crypto. You must be living in a cave if you don't know that blockchain technology will flourish and take over the world. And we know that tokens/coins and their use are what makes the blockchain network valuable.
