Only 12 Days To Go, April Fools Is Coming...

Though we already expect theymos would do something crazy again, so let have an early discussion on what he might do next?

I think:
Shutting Down bitcointalk.org and Run Epochtalk and let us ecperience the whole thing for a Day. - though it might turn out some Beta Test and not an April Fool Thing.
(although it wasn't yet finish)

I would hide the merit and trust system. Come up with an overly confusing and convoluted reason for it.

People would go batty on both sides. It would then obviously reappear for the 2nd. A good old fashioned prank to get peoples feelings on a bit of a rollercoastee

That would be deliciously cruel.  You know damn well that there would be a certain percentage of members who would totally believe it, especially those who haven't been here for previous April 1sts or who haven't been paying attention (though last year's prank would have been hard to miss).  However, I would much prefer that Meta not become a septic tank, even for a day.  Last year was bad enough with all of those fake attributes Theymos added. 

OP, don't spoil the fun.  And I'm pretty sure if Theymos pranks everyone this year, he's already thought about what he's going to do.

Yep, adding some fake/random negative feedback to users for one day could be an interesting April fools' social experiment 
It could work better than simply reversing the numbers.

I really can't wait for the April Fools to come. If somebody here has a correct guess on what theymos will be doing, I will give that user my remaining sMerits and a dollar

Or even better, removing all airdroped merits would demote most users to very low ranks - it would be probably less then 100 Legendary members, and anyone who is not get at least 1 merit would become newbie + locking Meta board

Probably Theymos has some good idea which will confuse many users, but this is the essence of April Fools

- Doxing all connected accounts with the same IP (fake or real, who knows …)
- Creating a social media campaign in the Altcoin section with the objective of getting Bitcointalk to become trending topic (wait, that could be a real one).
- Banning Merit stats and Trust stats from the forum (whoops …).
- Creating a bot section (for bots to chat).
- Sending a temporary ban message to all unmerited accounts … or to all merited accounts.

2017 April Fool by Theymos.

Happy April Fools.

It was actually 100% random. Each user got between 1 and 4 coins, with fewer being more likely, and for each you would get a random cryptocurrency. I organized the cryptocurrencies into three tiers according to recognizability/popularity: tier 1 coins were more likely than tier 2 coins, which were more likely than tier 3. Then a random title was added to each coin name. There were a little less than 100 coins in total: I took the top 100 based on market cap and discarded a few that seemed to have never had any real interest.

But as I'd hoped, even though it was random, plenty of people just happened to have badges that were complete matches or mismatches.

This is an april fools joke.

While merit improved things a lot, clearly more adjustments were necessary. Therefore, some new rank requirements have been added in addition to the old requirements.

For example, consider someone with these stats:

Merit: 40
Activity: 56
Politeness: 36
fMerit: 56
Imagination: 36
Virtue: 40
Coins: 56
Karma: 40
