What is the deal with Minergate? They seem to come from nowhere with an incredibly polished product that as far as I know is the only stratum-like implementation of mining a cryptonote currency. They also seem to have a deep understanding of the protocol given that they were able to assemble a working block explorer. The only contact from the team behind it posted this in March:

What about Mac OSX? I am the begginner and to be honest not good in hardware and sofware good for mining. I mean I am not a noob in it but there's a lot to learn

which leads me to believe he or she is not really the primary developer of the software. Do they have any presence elsewhere? There is no source code available for their miner so it's hard to tell if they are somehow related to the BCN team. I've tried running the miner in a vm as I'm still a bit sketched out by the absence of source code, but that machine so far does not seem to have been overcome with any obvious issues, viruses, etc.

I'm using minergate miner since 1 week, in a dedicated server and everything is ok, no viruses, no issues, and a very very good profit (1000%)

I thought BTC payment automatically gets you a slot, not a X-amount of votes. Tho I can be mistaken. Would love to hear from someone who know better.

"Comkort also welcomes paid votes. As a user you can express your confidence in an emerging coin by offering 0,00005 BTC for each additional vote."
I think 0.3 BTC was enough =)

If you pay 0,00005 BTC for a given coin, 1 vote is added.
Now have a looke at the BTC payment address for BCN: https://blockchain.info/address/17CwKeNmCFkiAtYW4GDezzNzqdZnMyL64P
0,3 Bitcoins have been paid, at a rate of 0,00005 BTC per vote, this equals 6000 votes.

tadaaaa 1st place.

Sometimes reading just answers a whole lot of questions.

How do I check if the coins were mined or transferred in? I remember I applied for the giveaway a few days ago, but I'm not sure if I ever received it or if the giveaway is even still active. Took me some time to figure out how to get it going properly. Either way, the coin is definitely intriguing.

wallet.keys - this is the main file, with this file you can restore your wallet any time.
wallet.bin is not necessary

Scam coin

Client like Jurassic Park

3 days trying to make a transaction

Run people nothing interesting here!

or stay in the shadow

Monero: the first crytocurrency to bring bank secrecy and net neutrality to the blockchain.HyperStake: pushing the limits of staking.
