I am actually waiting for news about forks to change current algorithm to a ASIC-resistant one, dev.
Anyway, this new partnership with Trust Zone VPN is good for Bytecoin community
[/quote]

We actually have no plans to limit ASICs at this point because any kind of hardfork for this would remove a users anonymity which is something we absolutely will not allow for our community. You may read more about this decision here: https://bytecoin.org/blog/the-asic-statement-clarification-from-the-bytecoin-team

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Check out this great analysis about the Bytecoin hardfork delay and our recent AMA with our users in the Reddit community! We hope this clears up any remaining questions our community might have! goo.gl/qq6RNF

Delayed hardfork, so when will be the final official hardforking day for Bytecoin?
Hardforks to deal with Cryptonight ASICs is important to the survival and healthy condition of Bytecoin network.

I think Hardfork is the requirement for BCN and also it will improve its price.  I would like to know the exact date of hardfork of BCN and hope it will pump up again high as it was on the day of listing on binance.

It's real? I think this will be hard to achieve. But maybe I'm wrong. I hope all be fine

Major News! Trust Zone VPN and Bytecoin have made a partnership for the use of their services! Now you may use an anonymous coin to keep your anonymity while you surf the internet!  http://goo.gl/akkFWV

I dont think its a good idea, its a game you will not win, the ability to design new hardware is going to pick up pace as the coin becomes more popular In my mind (may be a puny one) it will create more complexity for the network and also shift focus from needed development of new features.
So let them build hardware, focus on usability and security of the coin at this stage, making it easier for dumb guys like me to use it every day.

Bitmain release Antminer X3, a CryptoNight ASIC Miner  (XMR, Sumokoin ,BCN etc. )
https://themerkle.com/bitmain-announces-the-antminer-x3-a-cryptonight-asic-miner/
Question:  Is the hard fork to make BCN ASIC-resistant ?

and what is the issue with ASIC miners anyway?

personally I see no problem letting some ASIC mining - it all supports the network

a mix  of miners won't hurt- "the more the merrier" I say

Hello Bytecoin believers,

Our aim is to add value to the whole crypto community by giving the best user experience to analyse cryptocurrencies.

It would be really great help from your side if you can spend 60 seconds of your time and give us your valuable feedback for our two recent updates 1) Snapshot and 2) Colourful interface of Bytecoin at: https://cointopper.com/coin/bytecoin

Constructive criticisms are always welcome at CoinTopper.  Thank you!!

Miners are still needed to process transactions... if BCN doesn't go up in price the fees wont be worth it and mining will cease, ending in demise for the coin. If BCN prices go up, by a lot, then miners will stick around for transaction fees.

With the 1-month historical price chart of Bytecoin, like this one: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bytecoin-bcn/
Is it right time to re-invest money into Bytecoin project again, everyone?
Low trading volume, and its price has almost fallen back to its bottom before recent unbelievable pumps

Personally i do not think we are at the bottom again. i think this will fall back to mid / late 60s. I maybe wrong but looking at the charts im holding off buying again. Unless the bulls come into the market BCN will stagnate again on a the flat line or until they sort the hard fork out.

It is very hard to predict the price when market is facing bearish waves as whole. To be honest price can go either way before taking any decision do own research once you are settled at some price then go ahead and buy. After that don't pay attention to short term changes in case of decline. In the long run you can be more relaxed.

Personally I also have same feeling there is big chance to see price at more low level it losing its value consistently that is why I have plan to buy this coin around 55 satoshi. But this is very hard to predict the accurate price where it could fall down.

BCN network is strong and IMO will be even stronger. Verge was hacked 2 times recently, but I cant remember of any such hacks with Bytecoin...i have strong confidence in BCN despite all the fud and current bear market.

i'm new to bytecoin and have just installed the windows desktop wallet.

is it correct that the bytecoin addresses/public keys are very much longer than the addresses of other coins?

the thing is that in the wallet there is no "receive" option (just a "send" option) and at the top of the wallet right under the menu tabs there is a very long chain of digits and letters like a coin address but much longer than usual (about 3 times as long as a bitcoin address/public key).

it doesn't say anywhere if that is your public key.

i just want to make sure that i can send my coins from the exchange to that address or not.

oh i see... this coin obviously doesn't have a very active community.

but if anyone happens to come here to answer my last question he could possibly also respond to my next issue.

now after a while the wallet suddenly switched itself from the "overview" window to the "console" window and some strange text and command lines are running in there endlessly now (for more than 24 hours already).
all the other window options (like "overview", "send", "contacts",and "mining") are greyed out and cannot be clicked anymore.
what's wrong with this wallet?

i have already some experience with other qt wallets of other coins but these strange issues are new to me.

My experience.
1. I sent BCN from Polo to my desktop wallet which was specified only my wallet address.
2. When I sent back to Polo , I have been specified both wallet address and private key. ( Because Polo need both ). Please click option for filling private key.
