There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Any chance for listing BCN at Bittrex or a relisting at Binance?

Nobody knows about future listing only dev has this info what efforts they are making right now. But to be honest I don't have good hope about this it will restore on Binance.

Thanks for the enthusiasm, addicto!

I think Bytecoin devs have stopped working on this project. and this coin will not be listing on the new exchanges.

Hi, searchcorve!

Nope, still working, it is just an intense period Smiley We will release the info and the roadmap soon, so stay tuned.

can you please specify when will be that "soon" ? days, weeks, months or perhaps when polo buy order filled on 0.00000019 ?

Any chance for listing BCN at Bittrex or a relisting at Binance?

There are many smaller exchanges that have low fees and look responsible like coinex.com and freiexchange.com.
Some will even list for free if you ask them.  You do have to be careful to not put too much volume there, but I think
this coin does need more exchanges.

more exchanges will significantly increase the volume especially if it can be listed on the market like bittrex and binance so it will raise this prestige coin

Dear All!

I've used a desktop wallet. Have used. Now I don't know where am I because of it's impossible to call it "use".

After the v3 was published I have found out that my wallet is out of sync, devs have changed the blockchain storage type to SQLite, the old blockchain is useless and there is no a new blockchain to download. So I had to resync my wallet from 0.
It took not so long time, just about 4 weeks. You know, it's more than 3 and less than 5.
4 weeks!

Meanhile a new wallet was published, v3.3.2.
And my wallet says it's out of sync again!

What the hell is going on? You mean I have to wait for a 4 weeks again?

Now I have about 85GB of the various official blockchains, 0 warnings about such critical changes as a change of blockchain storaging type and no official information about what is going on.

Is there any ways for normal use of BCN in present time or should I forget of it?

Why can't you publish a blockchain/bootstrap/fckng-sync-file or something else not to waste my time and electricity!

its a new technology, in constant development some amount of teething problems should be expected

How few weeks ago news about delisting were coming out one after other I decided to take a break to stay relaxed. I started to read again and saw an update on the last day of last month that hashpower was touching new all time high. That shows the interest of miners is high in spite what we went through as community. BCN has faced that wave of uncertainty and looks more stable than before without doubt.

You think I should waste more 4 weeks to resync and feel happy?

Hey, devs! What about blockchain download?

Not saying you have to but at this time, yes
mine is a virtual machine with about 5 snapshot done once a week revert to a good one when corrupt, hoping they will get it right before its too large.
This is my bit, can the blockchain be more be more like torrent?

Hi, Leningrad00!

We are sorry to hear about your issue. Thanks for the info.

There was just one time it was necessary to resync the blockchain this year - when updating to version 3.2.0. It is an inconvenience of sorts, but it allowed us to change the database format, and it got noticeably faster and smaller.

What you can do is connect to the public node you trust and avoid syncig the blockchain altogether. All you need to do is go to “Tools” -> “Wallet daemon parameters” and use the following command with the IP and port of your node of choice:

--bytecoind-remote-address=<ip:port>

Take a look here for the node address, for example:

https://node.bytecoins.world/

What is worth noting here is that as our tests showed, in most cases the harddrive is the bottleneck when syncing the blockchain. During the sync, the software not only downloads the data, but also makes a lot of cryptographic and read/write operations on the harddrive. The actual amount of information, transferred through the network is around 10 GB, less than the half of the blockchain. As a side note, we recommend you to check how much time the network and the harddrive are busy to determine the bottleneck.

Also though, a decentralized exchange has the benefit of not having to pay for hosting/platform costs and only development costs, and doesnt have to follow legislative requirements in theory.

If the BCNex team is serious and isn't a Bytecoin foundation 3.0 then I feel a decentralized exchange would be the best way to go, gives a lot more freedom exchange wise and money doesn't have to be continually spent on hosting and such.
