There is no "conspiracy" in the press. I worked in press for 12 years, I can tell you there is nothing of the sort. Journalists are pretty independent to post whatever they like.

since I was in this forum. often read articles or see tv news about the bad of cryptocurrency. when the market are bad or when the market is good. the news is almost the same "bad". in my opinion, those who make news don't understand about cryptocurrencies and as if they were economic experts. aim to influencing the market or just looking for its own news popularity. this is very irresponsible, because the news should be made based on facts not opinions or imagination.

Whales will do everything and this kind of strategy is one of their goal for sure. If there a big pump then the best thing to do for them is to sold more their holdings, creates FUD news so the price will dump again and the whales will buy more coins again. This can't be stop because its legal in cryptomarket, we just need to apply that game plan into our own investment decisions. The market will not dump again this time, its too early for this one.

I think that constant amount of FUD and all kinds of negative news and cryptocurrencies in general is present all the time. Some triggers for more negative news appeae from time to time but I guess this is something we already got used to. Anyway, the only thing that can be done is to use your brain and common sense, critical way of thinking so that you don't believe everything that you read or hear. Although it's proven that people tend more to believe negative than positive news.

i could see a flash crash to $1800 but why must it happen? i'm as hesitant to predict a bull market as the next person, but it seems more like a coin flip than a sure thing.

This crash prediction is on what base ?
On the base that almost 50% investors would remove their investment and dump the coin ?

I don’t think this will ever happen again, the only time I expect a little bit of down price is when BTC reaches $10,000, some few investors who cannot wait till the ATH will see it has an opportunity to remove their capital leaving the profit to continue to grow and this action won’t be more than 10% of investors, which is not enough to crash the price below $6000 talk less of dropping that low. So, all those advise I am seeing people give to investors to sell their coin really does not hold much weight.

it's true that Whales can give cryptocurrency prices at their own pace without anyone being able to manage them but you have to know that Whales will not pump the price of cryptocurrency if there is no good news to make Whales affected.

I'm personally looking forward to seeing my coworker's reaction from here on out. Every couple of days he'll talk about how stupid cryptocurrencies and blockchain in general is, and make some joke about me buying bitcoin.

Yeah, it's nice when you're able to legitimately tell your coworkers to go F- themselves.  It will be even better for you when bitcoin hits $10k again, and you can rub it in their face that you doubled your money since April.  Hopefully it won't take too long for us to get there--I'm pretty sure bitcoin is headed toward at least that price, but it's just a question of how long it's going to take.

Speaking of negative sentiment, where's Kwuckduck these days?  He usually rears his ugly little bearish head right around the time when bitcoin starts to take off, and you'd think a price bump like what we've seen in the past week would be like cockroach attractant to him.  And pay no mind to any negative articles you read on the news sites.  They've all been published before, and bitcoin has proven its resiliency over and over.  It's here to stay, which was something I was skeptical about just a few years ago.

What you said about some crypto haters to say something or write negative article about Bitcoin is not something new and was always the same strategy used by some groups of bankers/crypto haters all in the act of making people to panic sell.

Now that the bottom is done and the bull market is back

The crypto posed a good strength since a couple of days but we still need a couple weeks before we can really know if this is real bull market.

A 50% (or 65%) crash in Bitcoin is never that surprising. We just crashed 50% a few months ago, so why couldn't it ever happen again?

To crash that hard, you don't need 50% of investors to sell at all. The price is determined by supply and demand on the exchange market, which has very limited liquidity. It doesn't take that many coins to crash the price.

True, FUD didnt really stop even if we are already on a bearish market as expected there are really news that would tend to make out bad publicity
with bitcoin so its still not surprising if these things do still continue to this market but even though Bitcoin is still standing inspite of all those attacks and bad publicity.

Crypto is different though. It's largely an unregulated mess where major sites like Coindesk are owned by very wealthy individuals who are only out to do themselves a favor because they have bags to pump.

Overall, people are different the way they process news and predictions. I remember how people were called a troll of fudder for saying that the price could potentially fall below the $3000 mark, and we almost did.

People are so emotionally connected to their investment that even though they realize things could play out against them, they hope that the opposite will happen and the price pumps instead of tanks hard.

I agree there's not a conspiracy in the press, its just that the vast majority of people aren't into bitcoin (yet!), and so those 99% of people often have feelings of anger when they see something that other people are getting super excited about that is making them rich left and right. Most people will feel they couldn't possibly have missed out on something so spectacular so it must be fake, it must be a fraud, or a bubble that'll pop and never come back, it must be all hype, the technology must be useless and just scamming people because no real useful asset could ever just keep going up like that. So on every bull run they scream "fraud", "fake", "scam", etc and then on every bear market they say "see told ya" and figure the bear market will last forever, and as soon as it turns around they started screaming the usual negative things born out of ignorance and will claim that this is just a temporary swing up before the decline continues. And every time they are wrong, which furthers the feeling of insult they have at not only missing out but also being wrong time and time again.

The press are just normal people, and most people haven't researched bitcoin appropriately (including the people in the press who write about it) will think this way until they do finally do the proper research, because they can't comprehend something that anyone can buy and take part in could just keep exploding in price and make anyone rich because there has literally never been anything like Bitcoin before.

There is no conspiracy against bitcoin, it is simply ignorance that makes people think nothing can keep going up like this, because they don't realize that this is the first time people have been able to invest directly in a technology, rather than investing in a company that uses a technology and only that once the company is made public once the wealthy early investors have already loaded up for years while it is illegal for anyone who isn't rich to buy in. And of course it doesn't hurt that bitcoin was literally designed to continually explode with adoption in price due to the supply cap and halving schedule.

FUD doesn't seem to work and affect that much during upward trend maybe because they are currently thinking positive. They seem not worrying as long as they are seeing the price doing good. Well, wether we want or not, FUD will always be here and it's part of crypto world. As long as you trust btc, there's no bad news that could turn your beliefs about btc.

FUD doesn't seem to work and affect that much during upward trend maybe because they are currently thinking positive. They seem not worrying as long as they are seeing the price doing good. Well, wether we want or not, FUD will always be here and it's part of crypto world. As long as you trust btc, there's no bad news that could turn your beliefs about btc.

There may be a difference this time and fuds may not have the effect it once had on both holders and traders. I think the people who usually gets affected with fuds are those that doesn't really know a lot about the market. The good thing about the 2018 bear year is that it taught us to make our own studies first before making any investments. So people now know when to shrug off fuds if they can.
