Well it does sound bad, but its really the way to go. We have like 40 new altcoins each week. You cant succeed by doint nothing. You cant succeed by only a loud community, you need the all around package what includes a accepted exchange that people like to use. Probably replace bribing by the voting most exchanges have now, its absolutely stupid and sometimes brings a lot of money to the exchange owners, but it works.

As long as we dont land on cryptsy and be doomed @ 1 satoshi i am ok ether way.

N00b question: is there any point in CPU mining Slothcoin using a regular desktop pc?
I tried solomining with the QT client, and I got the following stats:

Whats the use of that? After the initial pump of few satoshi it will hit litoshi levels again just like right now on atom...
Billion block reward meme coins just doesnt work right now, its 50% premine national coin hype.
We are better off building this coin slowly before hitting more exchanges.

I strongly believe any coin will die within a few weeks that tries to take it slow. People want to be on the "new coin train that will for sure explode in a few days/week" not "the coin that probably gonna have some services sometime in not so near future and then probably will get a reasonable worth". Also isnt the National coin hype over already?

IMHO, this is just how i see the altcoin market.

Its always a good start anyway. And yeah the downvotes are getting normal on anything related to a specific coin. Its sad, usually we should respect other coins and upvote those we love
