Who we serve

We serve hotel owners and other hospitality services providers by:

• Attracting customers to their listings
• Giving them a cheap, simple and reliable payment system
• Giving them a simple all-in-one platform for managing their business

We serve travelers, be they on a vacation or business trip, by:

• Offering them up to 25% cheaper booking
• Giving them a safe, trustless way for booking
• Providing them with more information about listings, so they can make a better, more informed decision

Sector overview

The hospitality industry generates $550 billion annually in direct revenue alone and at least another 150% in adjacent sectors (restaurants, bars, transportation). Approximately 20% of the sector's revenue is raked by middlemen (OTAs) between hotels (and other hospitality services providers) and end clients (tourists and other travelers). Large part of this is pure profit due to the nature of the OTAs' operation.

Another ~10% is lost on the account of OTA taxes and transaction fees.

Despite the middlemen’s split the sector has been consistently growing throughout the past 10 years at an average rate of 5-6%. It is projected to grow further at an average rate of ~5%.



Problem statement

The booking industry is dominated by 2 massive corporations (booking.com and Expedia) who:

• dictate 15-20% fees to the entire industry
• offer unfair preferential treatment
• stifle competition and innovation to keep the monopoly

• Taxes are applied on top of the OTA's commissions and transaction costs, raising total fees up to 33%.
• When booking for a foreign country the clients also carry currency exchange costs.
• When entering a foreign country with foreign currency the traveler must carry a lot of cash, which is dangerous, and if the traveler runs out of cash there are lengthy and costly procedures for obtaining more.
• If a booking is lost or misplaced (given to the wrong client) the client's entire travel arrangement may be jeopardized. This does not only present a potential financial loss for the client but also a massive schedule setback which may be unrecoverable.
  When customers have difficulty negotiating a 14 day leave with their boss, the last thing they want is to see it go to waste due to a clerical error.

The above problems sum up into $100s of billions in losses for customers, and $100s of billions more in unrealized profits for hospitality providers.



Problem solutions

• As the above problems mostly stem from greedy OTAs, Tryvium is a direct competitor to the current dominant OTAs and has vowed to keep its commission at 8%.
• Since Tryvium will carry out transactions with TYM, thus avoiding bank fees, saving up to further 3%.
• And most importantly, Tryvium is a licensed business registered in Malta, the hefty taxes which apply to conventional OTA's fees are also void.

This means that all bookings done through Tryvium Platform will carry a flat 8% commission with no hidden costs. The traveler and the hospitality provider thus save 20-25%.

• TYM is permissionless and global, there is no need to worry about exchanging currencies, paying exchange fees or running out of the local currency.
• Tryvium Platform functions on the blockchain, bookings cannot be lost nor misplaced. They are verifiable at all times and can only be activated with the customers' private keys. The latter are within the customers' respective mobile app.
• Above also applies to all the TYM funds the customer carries on the trip, which makes them far harder to steal than conventional currency. Especially when clients use our built-in cold wallet and biometric locking.

Why we are different

Most new innovations, especially in the blockchain space, focus on serving either businesses or end-clients, and by this create a rift between the two - the side which the innovation was not tailored for has no incentive to adopt it. Due to this, many seemingly great innovations are now struggling to gain real-world traction as they cannot attract one of the two sides. It is a catch-22 - clients bring providers, providers bring clients.

At Tryvium we are building a bridge between clients and providers, giving both high incentives to adopt our system. This will ensure our products have a sufficiently large group of users right from the start. Additionally we have onboarding bonuses for early adopters, for travelers and hospitality services providers alike.


Often startups come up with an idea, build it and in the end realize there is insufficient client base for it. At which point they either need to hard-pivot or shut down the business.

Tryvium's business model is similar enough to classical OTAs that we know end-clients will adopt our services, and while our B2B model is more novel, we know businesses will adopt our services because several have already onboarded.


Many if not most ICOs were started for products which were not intended as monetarily self-sufficient. They had no foreseeable cashflow that could generate revenue.

Tryvium is designed exclusively with cashflow in mind, as revenues generated by the Tryvium Platform will be the sole income stream of Tryvium Company LTD and its owners. As such, Tryvium Company LTD will not play speculative games regarding the ETH prices with the ETH raised during the Tryvium's ICO.

• 2020 Q1 - The Tryvium Platform will be officially released and tuning will start. Meanwhile development of the Tryvium’s All-in-one solution will start.
• 2020 Q2 - The Mobile Apps will be officially released for both Android and iOS; also, mobile apps tuning will start.
• 2020 Q3 - Development of the Tryvium Gift Experience Alpha will start. Meanwhile there will be a massive push to affiliate a larger number of hotels to the platform.
• 2020 Q4 - The Tryvium Platform will be fully released. The All-in-one software closed beta test will start.

Our vision

Most Business Plans start with a vision and mission statement, Tryvium decided to start with facts first.
We consider our vision as a guide to the final milestone on our path, not as the starting inspiration for beginning the journey.

Yes, of course, we intend to list on the most prominent exchanges, and are doing everything in our power to comply with the various legislative/regulative limitations different exchanges have to operate under.
But as the listing requirements are ever changing we cannot say where and when we will be listed - after-all, we have not even conducted our ICO yet.

In the long-run, we hope to be accessible on most, if not all, exchanges, including the upcoming DEXes.

Correct, hospitality services providers will be paying us an 8% commission on all bookings made through Tryvium Platform. Of course in practice this means that the 8% really come from the end-user (consumer).
Just like VAT tax is technically paid by shops, but in reality consumers bear the cost.

Additionally hospitality services providers will be buying (if they want of course) our software and additional services.

The user (consumer) will only bear transaction fees (which will be negligible if the consumer uses TYM, if the consumer uses other payment options - like paypal or wire transfer - the fees will be as high as the payment provider sets them).

No stake is needed, we believe that would limit the adoption speed of Tryvium among hospitality services providers. Also it would make Tryvium similar to a master-nodes system, which could make it more difficult for the Tryvium Company LTD to navigate the legislative requirements.

Nevertheless the hospitality services providers are incentivised to buy TYM - as all payments they make (to the Tryvium Company LTD) will get a discount if they pay with TYM.
Similarly to the way that travelers using TYM are incentivised with loyalty points and cashbacks.

To on-board on the Tryvium Platform and/or buy other services provided by the Tryvium Company LTD, the hospitality services providers register in the same way as with classical OTAs.

We were recently asked about this on Reddit, this was our answer:


Why blockchain is needed:

Blockchain will guarantee that bookings done through Tryvium Platform will be unalterable and always accessible to the parties who agreed to it (the buyer, the seller and when necessary one or both country’s governments). This ensures that neither the tourist, nor the hotelier can alter a booking thus avoiding legal disputes over false claims from either party.

It also enables 100% accurate, reliable and provable tax reporting, which is necessary for decreasing hoteliers’ overhead and legal risk.

Cryptocurrency payment will decrease transaction costs which can be considerable for some countries. And for some countries using conventional payment processors is not possible at all, Tryvium will open them up to the world.

Yes, a part of our services could be accomplished without blockchain (we could decrease the fees from 25-35% to ~10-12%), but to succeed in our endeavors a holistic approach is needed. And for that blockchain is needed.

Many jurisdictions and exchanges consider buyback programs risky in terms of such projects being considered as securities. This would not only limit the number of exchanges we can be traded on, but more importantly would geographically limit our reach (countries we can do business in), thus we do not have a buyback program as it would harm our adoption.

After that we could expand to booking flights. The letter is a very different industry that is why we are not yet actively considering it as we would be overextending ourselves.

Yes, all bookings will be on the blockchain, since the giftbox is just a transferable booking it will also be on the blockchain - transferable just like a normal coin/token transaction.

In the first phase the giftbox will only be digital, because we have not yet found a truly safe/secure way of delivering a physical giftbox with its booking "intact". It is however on our to-do for the mid-to-long term future, because selling a physical box would allow us to gain additional exposure through retail stores.

SYS market capitalization at the moment is $33 million, probably around half of that is tied in masternodes, some of it is in cold wallets. Thus if we tried to raise our full ICO amount in SYS it would create a significant disturbance in the market.
For one that can cause legal problems for the Tryvium Company LTD, and it would also result in a loss of value of the gathered funds for us when we would sell the obtained SYS to pay our running expenses.

A SYSX token fluidly converts from an ETH token to a SYS asset, thus the total number of TYM tokens will always be 880 million, but the ration between the ETH & SYS will automatically change at every block depending on how users are using the TYM.

Yes, this is our long-term goal, however it is still very distant.
First we will build a large hotel-base and traveling community.
After this we will focus on transport and restaurants.
In the final stage we intend to expand to all other services a tourist requires.

We have not emphasized this part as it is far in the future, but we hinted on it at the end of our ANN, in the 'Just Imagine' heading.
To sum it up:

You come to a hotel, register and just walk in your room - without any additional payments and complications. You walk out and head to the beach, a spot is already reserved for you and a cocktail is on the way.
No need to get out of the sun lounger to pay for the cocktail, your smartphone already took care of it.
As you are lying on the exotic beach, cocktail in hand and a nice breeze in your hair, your thoughts turn to  a nice juicy dinner. Pizza, something exotic, something local, all orderable with a flick of your finger.

No train has been mentioned, however planes, ships, trains and even buses can end-up on our list.
But, as stated in the beginning, that is still a long time away.

This is a fantastic idea as the level of black-hatting we see on the airdrop1 applications is truly amazing and is taking our airdrop managers a lot of time to check everything. So this method would save us a lot of time.

At the moment it only has one content site and basic graphics/looks, as it is more important to begin ranking it as fast as possible than to polish its visuals.

Any news about Bounty or Progress of this project? You guys really should to create a telegram group for community right now or they will leave!

It is already Q4, are you going to release your beta this quarter or it will push a lil bit? I am guessing that the booking platform is not yet live, right? It says the site is having issues (i.e. crash report) whenever I tried to search for a place and the availability.
Also, have you look into having collab with hotels or tourism spots? If there's any, can you name at least a couple of them?

Dear followers, our recent silence is due to big business developments happening behind the scenes, and signs a big event coming for Tryvium in the near future!
We can not disclose yet what the most recent development is, but you will see it when the Tryvium Platform goes online   🍷

The current booking platform is an alpha version, beta will be fully operational. So far we do not foresee a delay for beta coming out this year.

So your Tryvium booking platform is already out of beta? yes, since most hotels and travel destinations are in lockdown and flights cancelled, it is good opportunity for you to fully develop your platform. so once this pandemic situation is over, you are ready to cater the community with your services. by the way, what happened to your pre-ICO and ICO stages?

I can't find information about the ICO, but what I'm worried about is, that bounty participants who joined the campaign, they didn't get anything for the work they were supposed to receive after the ICO ended, but there wasn't any updates on that. Also the progress you made is so slow,
