That's why I say Bitcoin should be held for a long time according to plan, because those who hold Bitcoin for a long time are the best investors because they follow the DCA method according to their plan. Bitcoin is the best that's why they buy the most Bitcoin by dumping, and they have a high chance of success. No matter how much you plan, Bitcoin investors who are selling now are basically fools, but should take the opportunity to buy instead of selling. Because there may not be such an opportunity to buy Bitcoin in the future, those who buy Bitcoin at the present time and hold for a long time will be the best opportunists.
The strength of long-term Bitcoin investing is the system, not the prediction. Those who do DCA according to the plan, usually do not waiting for the bottom and do not change their decisions repeatedly due to emotions. So they can increase their stack over time without being afraid of market fluctuations. Drawdowns or red markets often become an opportunity for these long term investor to increase units. Because more Bitcoin is available with the same budget. But this only works if you buy from discretionary income and reserve funds are set aside so that you do not have to sell during times of stress. Many of those who are selling now may be forced to sell. Because they were overexposed or life-pressured. This teaches why it is important to keep budgeting and reserves right from the beginning. It is not about finding the best opportunity at the end. The best results come from regular stacking, discipline, and the ability to give time.

Also the BTC price could go shooting up several times its value, but then the part that starts to get a guy to become motivated to sell is when the BTC price is correcting back down, so in that context, the guy starts to think about how much value he is ongoingly losing when the BTC price is going down, so he might end up selling some or all of his BTC based on a motivation of loss aversion.
This is the realist statement towards reasons why people sell that I’ve heard in this forum, of course it’s not the fact that we are in bear market that lead people to sell but most time it’s because people have seen a good amount that bitcoin price doubling has brought they are not mentally ready to loss the money which basically is not theirs but what bitcoin brought them but are afraid to endure seeing it go down with the correction of bitcoin. You are right people with this kind of mindset will not go far in their Bitcoin investment journey because they lack patient and faith and I also believe they are not a genuine Investor because there is nothing that will make a real investor to sell their Bitcoin no matter the Dip. Before we started Bitcoin investment we knew that Bitcoin will go up and down ( volatility) and so why will someone see their investment grow to some point and then when the price is going down they decided to sell when they have not hit their overaccumulation stage perhaps this is trading.

Now because of predictions and forecast, people are into panic mood, emotions and fear. And when you are into all these trauma, you are bound to make mistakes leading to had i known. My advice is hold on to your BTC for as long as you can. Keep stacking, keep buying, keep hope alive don't mind the forecast or prediction because there is always tomorrow but if you don't have BTC to hold on to then regrets will certainly setting in tomorrow.

Even in real life there people that lack the courage to face challenges. When ever they are face with temporary setback they won't stand to fight but they will give up. It requires self discipline for anyone to be able to face challenges. People should understand that challenges are just setbacks that won't last forever. A dip should be see as temporary setback for those that failed to see it as an opportunity to buy more bitcoin. Is something all bitcoin investors won't escape it is part of bitcoin cycle. Investor should discipline themselves to know how to act during the dip and to have an understanding that it is just part of the challenges of holding bitcoin.

For instance, many people joined bitcoin last year 2025 due to the exploits done by bitcoin from the ending of 2024 until the last quarter of 2025. As an investor, you should be expecting such market downtime at any moment and that's why you also have to be careful with how much you invest in bitcoin. You should only invest the amount you can be able to HODL for a long period of time. This panic management is the reason behind advising that bitcoin investment should be made strictly with your Discretionary income. The best we can do this period is to buy more bitcoin and HODL because price will still rise sooner or later.

Bitcoin value is estimated due to its structural features. But material factors such as demand and global conditions are responsible for the decrease or increase in price. Bitcoin limited supply and the fact that it has become a store of value in a few years should make you optimistic about its future prospects and value. You are not obligated to invest without analyzing anyone's predictions. Apply your own knowledge and accumulate Bitcoin before investing in Bitcoin. You are not obligated to take risks. Accumulate Bitcoin from discretionary income and build a stacking. Plan to implement 4-year initially Bitcoin accumulation plan without considering it as long as possible and accumulate any amount every week. Next target should be more 6 years.

If people believe in the Long term aim short term dips shouldn't shake people out of their position, a good investors takes patience discipline and conviction selling each time the market pulls back feels more like trading on emotions than sticking to a strategy, of course but if people entered with a long term mindset , so volatility shouldn't come as a surprise.

If they can't overcome those challenges when market is dipping they provably not invest, usually those people waiting for the dip and sell at high price looks like riding on bullish trends. Discipline and having discretionary income is perfect mix to survive on their long term investment goals.

Most people feel that selling is a good strategy for ecaping volatility, they sell when the market drops then time when it goes lower then buy the dip, that's never a good strategy since they can't get the perfect timing of the market, imagine selling at 70k with hope that the market would drop below 65k so you'll back at 60k but then the market goes to 90k instead of dropping to 60k. That's the perfect example of not being able to get the perfect timing od the market, Bitcoin is a long-term investment system and people should stick to that concept, a true investor would always stick to long-term goals regardless of the situation of the marketm

Yes, that's why when we invest in bitcoin, we have to think carefully when events like this occur. Because price corrections will always happen in bitcoin, but that doesn't mean we have to sell our bitcoin assets too. Because basically we still have a long way to go, and selling bitcoin now would be like undermining our existing foundation. So, the point is, even though it's true that when prices correct, the profits we've seen can decrease in value, it's only temporary. Because it's certain that after this, the price of Bitcoin will rise again, and everything will be better. But it can't be denied that many Bitcoin investors haven't been able to anticipate situations like this price correction. But that's okay, because the most important thing is that we remain strong in holding onto the Bitcoin we own.

Even if there is likely some semantical element to the argument, you seem to not sufficiently appreciate the difference between investing and trading.
Sure, 4 years likely feels like a long time for guys who are not used to investing, yet maybe you should try to imagine some potential scenarios that guys might buy bitcoin (or even spend 4 years accumulating bitcoin) and then maybe they have saved up enough value (or bitcoin had appreciated), so that they have some target thing that they want to buy or some target place that they want to put their bitcoin value, so then they sell all of their bitcoin and they put the value into the other thing... they then end up as a no coiner to the extent that they had sold everything or perhaps a low coiner to the extent that they greatly undermined their earlier bitcoin stash.. to put themselves into such a status of not having very many coins.
I doubt that you resolve the issue of "investing" versus "trading" merely by the passage of time, even though surely time is an element of investing (and trading too).
What I have learned from my experience is that every investment need time to give you good return and its no surprise that Bitcoin is taking 4 years to give you good return. Those investments that claims to give you quick return have high risk associated with it. Since we are here to talk about Bitcoin and key point is that risk associated with Bitcoin investment goes down if we buy and hold Bitcoin for at least 4 years. The more you hold Bitcoin, more will be your return. If you do simple calculation on https://dcacryptocalculator.com that if we invest 100$ per week from Feb 2012 to Feb 2025 then after 4 years our ROI will be +170. Everyone is free to do such simple calculations to understand the importance of investing for 4 years.

That's the perfect example of not being able to get the perfect timing od the market, Bitcoin is a long-term investment system and people should stick to that concept, a true investor would always stick to long-term goals regardless of the situation of the marketm The average buying price is the sum of the each buying prices divided by the number of buy. Let's say you buy Bitcoin every week and buy 208 times over four years. Each week will not have the same accumulation price. The variation and mix of buying prices will show an average price at the end of a cycle. The DCA strategy for Bitcoin accumulation is very impressive and a great investment example for any investor. Market declines are more risky to sell during this time because some investors sell during this time fearing further price declines. But DIP periods tempt you to do more aggressive DCA. If you have floating cash funds, buy more Bitcoin. This is a good decision because during DCA, only smart investors consider dips as the best buying event and increase their Bitcoin stack.

Most people feel that selling is a good strategy for ecaping volatility, they sell when the market drops then time when it goes lower then buy the dip.
This isn't investment, it's trading. A good investor doesn't consider dip in it's investment. Price shouldn't be the may reason for your Bitcoin accumulation Market declines are more risky to sell during this time because some investors sell during this time fearing further price declines.
This happen majorly to people that don't know the principle behind Bitcoin investment or people that invest in Bitcoin thinking of making potential profit within a short time. Bitcoin investment isn't a quick money making scheme and the more you know this, the less you are eager to sell even if price fall. DIP periods tempt you to do more aggressive DCA
Buying more during this period is an additional advantage to lower the price of your Bitcoin generally. But one should just be careful not to be tempt to an aggressive buy that will lead you to buying with your useful fund or emergency fund.

Traders don't trade because they are afraid of some kind things they trade because of greed and also they want to make quick gain or profit thinking that short term in bitcoin is were they can make more money, but they forgot to know that the little gain they may get in trading BTC can never be match with when they actually keep buying BTC and hodl for a longer period of time, the risk in trading is much higher I don't know of traders knows this.
The reason traders trade is not really because of greed rather the reason they trade is because of impatient and they are eager to make money don't get it twisted because someone can decide to trade not necessary because of greed but because he lacks the ability to wait for a long period of time and sometimes it is not because they are ignorant of the fact that what they are doing is risky or the fact that long term is the goal but they don't regard all these things because of quick profit ( impatient) Wich is not even sure. Bruh, I go can’t even relate to your message clearly, are you trying to defend some reason over another why people decide to trade ?? Because it seems like it is what you’re doing man. Btw you should know that regardless of what is making anybody trade rather that making responsible investment decide is just a result of a very very poor mindset, if they have got the right mindset about Bitcoin, and why people has chosen to accumulate rather than just gambling with it, then they would not be stuck with that impatience thing. So let’s not make it be about defending reasons, it should be about fixing the mindset behind those action. In addition are you not aware that those investors that are selling currently are regretting it because investors are not buying at a favourable price form the sellers which will to be profitable, which is now a great concern for the sellers and this will make you not to have a good return in future of your investment, will even slow down the number of years you wish to get to your over accumulation stage, so if it will not be profitable and beneficial to you now and in future, why are you selling your investment. When investing in volatile assets like Bitcoin, investing step by step with a long-term plan using the DCA method is a good method. However, there may be some reasons for those who are selling now, many may sell for their personal financial needs, while many may also do it for portfolio restructuring, that is, there may be various reasons. However, selling intentionally or out of fear is not reasonable. I think investment decisions should never be made based on emotion or overconfidence. Decisions should be made based on your own financial capacity and risk management.

From my perspective, the only viable reason an investor should sell his Bitcoin is if he’s experiencing a life threatening situation that his emergency fund is not enough to foot the bill or he has reached his over accumulation stage and start his sustainable withdrawal. Any other excuses just to sell your Bitcoin because the price is on a bearish momentum is coming from a trader standpoint. If there’s a reason such as portfolio restructuring as you’ve said, why not take the present dip as an opportunity to restructure your portfolio. If you’re really determined to restructure your portfolio, then reduce your expenses if possible and increase the amount you allocate to your discretionary funds, so you have enough to continuously maximize your Bitcoin stash. Instead of selling and buying again in the guise of restructuring your portfolio.

There is no ideal time to invest in Bitcoin because Bitcoin cannot go so low to the price that will be suitable for you to invest in Bitcoin. The best time to invest in Bitcoin is today and another best time to invest in Bitcoin is tomorrow. If investors feels that the price of Bitcoin is too high for them to invest in Bitcoin they can adopt the DCA method to accumulate Bitcoin, and the DCA method will still give them a chance to even buy Bitcoin in the dip if there is a crash in the price of Bitcoin during their investment process.
Bitcoin price is unpredictable and its very hard to predict the future price of Bitcoin. Anyone who is following Bitcoin for last two years can figure out that just four months ago price of Bitcoin was $120,000 and now it is half of that price. Old users can see themselves that its good opportunity to buy Bitcoin. If you have no coin then any time is best to start your Bitcoin accumulation journey because you have to start from some point. The number of Bitcoins you have is an important factor that tells you when to buy and when to take a break. Those who have adequate number of Bitcoins may take a break while price is high i.e. $120,000 but current price of $69,000 is ideal for everyone to buy Bitcoins. You have just spoken my mind on those investors or newbies that has the opportunity of buying and accumulating Bitcoin gradually by gradually as they can, determine on how their discretionary income comes to them because as you have set a good example about how Bitcoin price was in the four months back, it was really good seeing Bitcoin at the rate of $120,000 then and now it is nothing to write about but the best advise i will give to those that has consider buying due to serious fluctuation of Bitcoin price in market should consider buying and accumulating gradually by gradually with DCA strategy because we can just wake one day to see Bitcoin price bounce back again to $120,000 or more that since Bitcoin is not what any investors can predict rightly.

The average buying price is the sum of the each buying prices divided by the number of buy.
Undoubtedly.there is no problem with an investor effecting an aggressive DCa if it is within their capacity. Most lot mix this two up, but there is a massive difference between being aggressive and then being over-aggresive(or reckless). Aggressive DCa in dip means you are utilizing the opportunity of price reduction and increasing the level of your exposure because of the conviction you so much have bestowed in bitcoin.

I find it funny to see that a true bitcoin investor would see bitcoins drop in price as a setback, or should I say why will a long term bitcoin investor see the bear market as a setback. Having been in the game its widely known that bitcoin price is not stable, it keeps fluctuating on a daily and the fact that the price of bitcoin is down doesn’t mean it will not improve in the near future. Seeing it as a setback is a trader’s mindset because that thing you are seeing as a setback there are other people who are actually seeing it as an opportunity for them to even buy more at such a reduced price, everyone is obviously going to be happy to buy bitcoin at a very cheap price so I don’t know why most people are seeing it as a setback and that’s why I said they are not true bitcoin investors but traders who are in for short quick profit mindset. they panic when the market isn’t going their way. There are even traders of bitcoin who are happy when there is a price drop, they pray and wait for a moment like this so they can dive into the market and buy immediately and wait for a little increase in price so they can sell for quick gains, and if the price isn’t improving after buying cheaply they panic. That’s why it’s better to treat bitcoin as a long term investment so you don’t see any price drop as a setback, rather you’ll see it as an opportunity to buy more and add to your portfolio to have a more healthy and decent portfolio for the long term gains.

This is true what you both are saying, this makes me wonder at times and ponder on what GREED is, how much is enough?, what price and how long is enough!?.. why we aim for long term is because we want maximum returns on our investments,(let’s not bullshit about that) what then happens when we see a high pump in a short term. Sometimes I feel like greed is relative. I might be having a high return in a short term and choose not to sell because I’m hoping for a higher return in the future but another person might decide to sell partly and later buy back to continue his accumulation. Where lies the greed?…..

When price drop after a big run up it feel like you are losing money even when you are still in profit. But as a long term holder I don't see price correction as ' losing value ' I see it as market correction, an opportunity to accumulate and volatility reset. Bitcoin has always moved in cycle because it's volatile nature and there is a sharp corrections after a strong rallies. At times traders that always rush to take profit whenever they see Bitcoin price drop are those who always buy Bitcoin with money they can't bear to lose, don't have conviction in their thesis and watch price daily instead watching it quarterly or yearly.
