I think we are in the same country, dude. It was a time when internet was not still introduced or as high-tech as it is now and people need to find things to entertain themselves and betting on spiders was one of them. Adults really love that and they really search creeks and canals under just to catch the best spider to challenge other ones. Honestly, it was really entertaining but it was just quick and the losing spider became a meal for the spider who won.

I do bet for insect fight.as I remembet when I was at the age of teen ager I do insect fight like a spider fighting.
We bet for small amount of money that can buy candies only.

I will still bet on that since you will analyze the insect, you will consider several things on where you will bet, you can consider the size of every ant, their arms or how big their arms/feet.

That sounds really crazy thing, I did not try to bet with any insects matches because I am afraid what is the possible thing will cause if they have bitten you since they are very aggressive insects. People will always find ways to bet with any insects or animals that possible they are fighting each other and have match fight. I did not see ant fighting only spiders and scorpions as far as I've known.

In my town there are ants that only appear once a year and it is common for children to capture one and start a fight against others ants.

Exactly, it is hard and it is unpredictable to judge that which insect is better than other. If anyone have perfect information about insect then he can judge, otherwise, majority of the people have no enough information about insects. Also i don't like to fight with insects or animals for betting wise.

Cockfighting is known to everyone but insect fights, I don't think so. Spider fight is common to our country, not only kids have played this fight but also for adults, and they bet for a huge amount in every fight. But, this is illegal and we know the consequences of doing this as it is against the law protecting animal life either we got into prison once caught by the authorities or fine for a certain penalty.

      I can relate what OP mean to be because insect fight like spiders are very popular in my country either child for their fun and some adult for gambling with betting on it fighting on the stick.

I am just amazed in your ant fighting game in your contry. Here in our contry we use spider game once a year we have a game like that(when I was a child) and we bet money sometimes, just a cents. So we did find a good spider for us to win the game it was so fun and really enjoyed it. I love being a child  we can also do this game if we want, we can bet and enjoy it.

Yeah I think we have the same country thinking that spider betting is.known here locally. In fact I have some.spiders kept ready for a match. Spiders will be more tougher if it will be put to its keep for few days and it will just make the insect more hungry for food and ready for a fight.

Some are also using medicine to keep their spiders being tough. Anyway, whats best is that an owner knows how to match the insect to another opponent. There are win rate for thr spiders depending on its colors.

It made me laugh a bit. You know it is the game of probability. Bet you would have won the gambling on weather had you seen the weather forecast earlier. Speaking about the original question, I think there is no joy and fun in gambling over the insects because you would not even know which player are yours and which is the opponent.

I haven't heard of ant fights for gambles and bets but it looks cute though.  I usually see spiders fighting which is played by children here in our country.  I also played that when I was a kid.  We hunt spiders with my friends and we put in a match. It can be duel between two spiders but sometimes three to four spiders are fighting in a stick. We sometimes make small bets but we usually do this for fun only. 

Back to the ant fights,  I think I'll enjoy betting in this game, it would be fun to watch these ants fighting each other. But if I were to put bet,  it would only be small amount of money only.

There is no need to laugh because it is true, betting can be done over any fight, some people do this for animals some for cock fights so the same it is beneficial, betting for insects like spider is very famous in south areas if I ever got the chance I will surely bet for it because recently one of my friend won almost 40k dollar on spider fight.
