The lending board used be such a friendly place, where lenders respected one another and all was just and fair in Bitcoinlandia.  Then the neophyte challenged the lending legend by advertising a rate so low the internet broke.  And so begin the Rate Wars.

We really need better no collateral lending options. I think shasan was the main lender prior to my entry into the market again. shasan took on much larger risks and as a result, the more trustworthy users had to pay a higher rate to essentially pay for the defaults of the risker users. I still think that someone could make a profit charging lower rates than what I'm currently charging.

I've matched jbdee for general collateralized loans (no 'loyalty' required). I don't really want to enter a rate war on that front.

I have succumb to the pressure as well.  I'm also charging 0.1% daily for collateralized loans, and 0.33% for non collateralized loans.

That's the problem with the non collateralized loans, they need to provide incentive to the lender to take the risk, and they must remain profitable despite the occasional default.  You've done a pretty good job weeding out the deadbeats, and I've had a good run as well.  Even with one default I made a reasonable return in the given time frame I've been offering loans.  

When offering non collateralized loans the lender's security is really up to the lender.  Diligence in researching your client is key, and therefore non collateralized loans require more time invested.  Another legitimate reason the lender can expect them to be more profitable.  And the lender really owe's it to his trustworthy clients to keep his defaults to a minimum so he can keep his rates reasonable.  

I've been using a checklist to expedite the process, while still investigating a potential borrower thoroughly.  The checklist is always in progress, and I've been thinking about adding values to certain member attributes to help generate a sort of "credit score."  My plan is formulating a "risk" level to help calculate a reasonable, but not too risky amount to lend.  As I get better at spotting riskier borrowers, and I could mitigate the risk of non collateralized loans, lowering rates would be an obvious next step.

Have updated my Lightning Node lending terms:

• 24hr loans - 0% for the purpose of testing the lightning network.  Usually you would ask for a repayment request, or, I would send one at the same time the loan is funded.  24 hour loan capped at 0.0001 mainnet and 0.001 testnet.
• Up to seven day LN loans - I can send a seven day loan repayment request at the time of funding. Terms 1%.
• Over seven days - currently not available.

Loans are still fixed at 0.0001 for main-net and 0.001 for test-net primarily for testing the Lightning Network.

Update on my LN lending thread:

Will be back in operation around about June 01, 2020, 02:00:00 AM (your local time) for main-net and test-net lightning network loans up to seven days duration after having managed to finally get all my funds out of the old Éclair wallet and install a new Éclair wallet with healthy inbound and outbound capacity.  Main-net: (Inbound BTC 0.02 and outbound BTC 0.005 - Test-net is similar)

You might want to remove OSS from the list as he mentioned that he's no longer servicing loans.

Similarly, my micro lightning loans thread is now locked and won't be reopening until about March 2022 at the earliest.
