Crypto crime increases day by day such as hacking, wallet theft, identification theft, and many others are done everyday by many fraudsters and hackers, and we cannot do about it except to refrain from doing things that is too risky to get close enough on such hack. I also think to refrain opening phising sites that are message to us on our email to refrain from hacking.

I was a victim of binance's hack. What can I do? What can we do? Security enhancement is not enough to secure our money. The trading floors seem absolutely insecure. no government can manage blockchain technology, crime is out of law. we are useless

Sadly, despite the rampant crime and theft in crypto space, nothing can be done to curb it to the barest minimum because of lack of authority and regulation. although If every user and exchanges can take proper precaution, then we can reduce the effect or minimize the crime.

https://news.yahoo.com/cryptocurrency-thefts-fraud-hit-1-211446327.html

In Q1 alone of 2019 there was $356m in theft of digital currencies from exchanges and scams while losses from fraud hit 851m. This number includes the QuadrigaX scam which accounts to about $134m in total losses.

What can we do to help stop these from happening and getting worse?

well. there is not so many things to do to be honest. i would say it is the community's own risk. to decide to trust or not to trust. this ecosystem is supporting the anonimous people so it is the nature of the crypto market.

unregulated cryptocurrency make it so hard for us to do something about that crime. But if that happend on exchange we can do simple thing. Just don't save our money / token /coin on exchange. if you wanna save it then store it on cold wallet

The solution is simply regulation. Basically to check mate the sort of scams perpetrated by Sparkster admin. Every coin or dapp creator with monetized asset on coinmarketcap should be made to under go kyc. Exchange operators should be made to undergo such processes too. This effort will drastically reduce crypto scam

Not only exchanges robbed people for millions of dollars but also ICOs and other custody services. Is this really what we need for mass adoption? Investors are scammed on every corner.  Roll Eyes

As regards the issue of ICO scam the only solution to that is regulation of the conduct of ICO. On the other hand, the issue of exchange hack has been a great concern and its above the power of the exchange itself because hackers are at work everyday and exchanges are prone to attack by the hackers. I think exchanges need more security in this aspect in order to stop hackers threat against exchanges.

This is seriously getting worse as the day progresses, but let's not forget that in the past, there has been some major cryptocurrency heists that has gone down in the history books as some of the biggest cryptocurrency hacks, we just have to be more security concious about how we secure our personal funds and never keep your funds in a wallet you don't control it's private keys and this includes exchange wallets.

Others experience people should give advise like this, scam or crime won't never finish, just low possible. Dump cryptocurrency market plummet by scammers, this will help for next bullrun by protect crypto.
It never to think that scammers will stop beeing a scammer but instead, they'll find another way to have more victims. Likewise, there is no such way to rid them out from doing it cause they consider crypto the best place to hide their self and fully engaged in scamming activities. Only we need to be more vigilant and never endure into a promising look of a project but it ends up nothing.

What we can do is to secure our coins. Since we can't fully trust even the big exchanges, we need to be prepared on every possible scenario. We can't dictate those exchanges to secure their site using advanced softwares or security protocols. So it is up to us on how we will attack such situation in the future. We are relying on ourselves on this matter.
Secure our coins (bitcoin, or whatever crypto currencies) is not difficult, we all can spend a few hours to learn those simple steps to do this. There are so many guides in the forum, that is presented in easy way to understand and pratice. Like this one: [GUIDES] on Bitcointalk. Index thread (until there is a dedicated subforum?)

Your private keys - your funds, always use wallets that avails you your private keys. Avoid storing funds in exchanges at all cost. Stay away from hyip programs and lastly always treat all ico,ieo and crowd funding as scam until proven otherwise.

Keep your PC secure, don't keep money on the exchanges, own your own private keys, do not participate in shitcoin ICO's and you'll be fine. Most of those crimes happened because the victims were dumb or uninformed.
Whichever way you choose to secure your cryptocurrencies there is always going to have a weakness, hard drives fail, PCs get stolen, people get mugged and forced to give private keys and many other misfortunes, it's all a matter of luck that you don't get to the losing side even after putting all necessary measures to secure these coins and not that people are dumb and misinformed!
Not long ago one of the best exchanges got hacked can you say people are dumb to use a reputable exchange.

There are always two sides of the same coin. Firstly, the majority of community do not want to have any regulations, because the core advantage is the anonymity. But on the other hand, without regulations the amount of scams will only increase.

In order to curb crypto hacks and scams from affecting crypto enthusiasts, everyone should make use of their personal wallets to store coins and not exchanges. Exchanges are always the target when it comes to hacks, so use exchanges to trade and not to store coins for mid to long term. Also, to avoid scam, bookmark the exchanges you use regularly so that you don't use clone links to give out your login details to scammers.

Crime is inevitable especially in an industry that has billions of dollars moving around the world in a daily basis, to curb these crimes from affecting you as an individual, be security concious.
1. Save your private keys well.
2. Don't use third-party keyboards in your phone's (and don't copy and paste?
3. Don't leave large funds in any exchange for long periods of time
4. Spread your funds in multiple wallets.

And most importantly, stay safe.
