It is a good fight card for UFC 241, the most anticipated fight is the rematch between Daniel Cormier and Stipe Miocic and i hope it will be a competitive one than the first one but the return of Nate Diaz will be a much better fight as he is facing Anthony Pettis and this fight will have an implication on the third fight with Conor McGregor as it would be yet another big fight and the young Paulo Costa have a big task ahead of him in the form of Yoel Romero, if he could win the fight he will be the next title contender.

Can Amanda Nunes cut his weight to 125 pounds and challenge Valentina Shevchenko for the flyweight championship? I reckon Valentina should be given a challenge, women's flyweight is very boring.
Amanda's toughest opponent is the weight cut https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQLgbVjxGfM
It would not be healthy for her to shred more to reach 125 lbs. It will greatly affect her power and might lose to someone who is in her natural weight class.
Losing weight will also depreciate your power to withstand for long fights. So it will be good for her to maintain that weight. Enough work outs is definitely good in order to win for her opponent, and that's pretty sure effective instead of cutting off some body mass.

In fact I suspect Shevchenko to have gone down to flyweight category because she saw it would be too difficult to beat Amanda Nunes and take her bantamweight belt. So she preferred to go down to flyweight to win the title...
You have to understand that Valentina Shevchenko was a legit 125 pound fighter and she was fighting all her Muay Thai and Kickboxing in 125 pound weight category and when she came to the UFC they did not have a 125 pound division and so she was forced to move up in weight and fight in 135 pound division and once they opened the division there is no one who could beat her.

I have to disagree with you. According to her records, she was fighting in the bantamweight division before coming to the UFC. She was fighting in the bantamweight class since 2010 at least, so 5years before joining UFC
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valentina_Shevchenko_(fighter)
So it must be some kind of russian urban legends I guess. I hope Amanda Nunes will accept to go down to flyweight class to try to take her belt and win the championship of a 3rd division.

As far 241, I got DC and Pettis winning, but hope im wrong and Nate wins.
I'm having a doubt that DIaz can pull this off because it's very hard to be in good shape and fighting mindset once again. I mean, we all knew that Diaz was gone for almost 3 years and that's not a joke. I think he should triple his effort if he really want to beat Pettis.
I want DC winning for another go at Bones on HW.
HW means Heavyweight? Why that division? Jones is on the Light Heavyweight, maybe it's just a mistake Grin. Anyway, DC vs Bones is not so special already, much better would be DC against Lesnar! What do you guys think?

I'm sorry but you're wrong. Bantamweight in MMA is 57 to 61kg and if you look carefully at her records in Kickboxing and Muay Thai https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valentina_Shevchenko_(fighter)
you can see she only fought in the -57kg weight class until 2009. After that she only fought in -60kg and -63.5kg classes. That is above the MMA flyweight class which is 53 to 57kg... So her natural weight class since 2009 was clearly bantamweight (and even featherweight) class and not flyweight. So the speculations saying she dropped to flyweight because she couldn't beat Nunes are not unfounded.

Pettis is coming off from a huge victory over Stephen Thompson and he is confident going into this bout again Nate Diaz who is coming after a long lay off and ring rust is a real thing, but he is a durable fighter and we might see a war as both are stand up fighers.

Jones Jones moving up in heavyweight to take the belt from Cormier will be a much bigger fight that Cormier coming down to light heavy weight because we have already seen two fights and we all know the result. Lesnar will not be back until he gets any exception from USADA Cheesy.

Win or lose, I think a third fight between Jones and DC will still happen. None in the division can challenge Jones like DC.
I also want Pettis to win over Diaz, I agree with what many observers say that he has more skills. We may see a second stoppage to Nate's career.

The problem is that i like Daniel Cormier as a fighter and i expected it to be a really close fight when they fought, but Jon Jones dominated the first fight and even took Cormier down a few times and he was dominating every round, the second fight he finished him with head strike and ground and pound and it was interesting till that moment but it was not even a challenge for Jones, the only challenge would be if they fight in the heavyweight division as Cormier is not cutting weight and has knockout power too and that will be a contest for Jones.

Wasn't Jones juiced up during their second fight? I do not consider that as an easy win. I don't expect Jones moving up unless he gets bored. As he said in one of his interviews, he plans to "attack" the division. I think that also means he will wipe out the entire division. Comier still wants that fight to happen and he knows he'll have to cut weight for that to happen.

I'm sorry but you're wrong. Bantamweight in MMA is 57 to 61kg
Let me clarify that 1 KG is 2.20462 pound and you are proclaiming that bantamweight (135 pound division) in MMA is 57 to 61 in kilogram, it is an international metric and i am not sure which university you studied those metrics Roll Eyes. You have the wiki link and you make your own calculation, but make sure you input the correct international metric while converting pound and kilogram and not your own calculation  Tongue. I am following shevchenko's career right from her Muay Thai days and i said that 125 pound is her true division because of that and not because of her MMA career while she fought mainly at bantamweight because there was no 125 pound division in MMA when she transitioned to MMA.

LOL I didn't make my own calculation, why I would do that? It's just written here: "competitors between 126 and 135 lb (57 and 61 kg) as bantamweights"
"The bantamweight limit, as defined by the Nevada State Athletic Commission[2] and the Association of Boxing Commissions[3] is 135 lb (61.36 kg)."
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bantamweight_(MMA)
or here: "Women's Bantamweight Championship 126 to 135 lb (57 to 61 kg)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_UFC_champions
So she obviously fought during most of her career at a weight above the flyweight class,

Thank you for sharing the links about the fight but it is not an easy fight to predict, DC is really good at heavyweight and i know he is undefeated in the division and last time Stipe got caught by an upper hand from the clinch and this time around i am sure that the fight will last much longer and Stipe will make sure to keep a distance and not to get inside the clinch and get knocked out again  Cheesy.

No doubt about it! Diaz is a durable fighter but more appropriate to say that he got a very hard face. His face can endure a lot of punches and it seems that he feels nothing  even if he is in blood bath already. Aside from his cocky attitude, this thing what I like the most from him. Actually, Pettis got the same factor so let's expect a bloody war from their match Grin.
As he said in one of his interviews, he plans to "attack" the division. I think that also means he will wipe out the entire division.
Planning, huh? He should think a million times again before deciding to enter Heavyweight because it is a whole new different level. The contenders there can knock out opponents with just one punch and most of them are as tall as him thus having a significant advantage for him was so slim. But it was interesting tho, I wonder what would it be like if Jones got knocked out. Lol jk.

~snip
We started this debate about the natural weight class of Valentina Shevchenko being 125 pounds, all the fighters in a respective weight class cut a lot of weight to get to that division limit and Valentina Shevchenko weighs around 135 pounds even when she is not fighting and hence you cannot call that her weight class to fight, to make things clear to you Amanda Nunes when she is not fighting weighs over 160 pounds and during training camp starts her weight cutting process to come down to 135 pounds on the day of weigh ins. I can give you many examples of fighters if you want, Meisha Tate walks around 158 pounds before a camp and so does Ronda Rousey and so does all the fighters who cut down to 135 pounds  Valentina Shevchenko was fighting all throughout her career without cutting much weight, hope you understand now what i am talking.

Looking forward to this weekend  Grin

I'm actually quite a fan of Miocic, he's the only heavyweight champion that I can remember defending his title three times (Overeem, Santos, and Ngannou) but I think he's going to be outmatched against Cormier. DC has faster hands and although Miocic has a boxing pedigree he can't hope to compete on the wrestling side.

Going to go with Cormier to win via KO, probably in the 2nd or 3rd.

As for Pettis v Diaz I'm fairly confident in Diaz taking the win, but it's probably going to be more of a drawn-out fight.

Pettis is arguably the harder hitter, but Diaz has speed on his side and tends to lure opponents into the kind of slug-fest he thrives in.

I'm going for a Diaz victory via decision, unless Pettis can utilise his BJJ/wrestling skills to bring Diaz to ground.

You can check out our odds for the weekend's action here.
