I need to start placing more bets on UFC fights.
In last two events I predicted exact outcomes for main events, and it is good to see Charles Oliveira got his belt again.
This was a good day for fighters from Brazil because Caio Borralho also won his fight against Reinier de Ridder.
I am not so excited about upcoming event Emmett vs Vallejos, so I am skipping this one, and waiting for Adesanya vs Pyfer.

A lot of bad things being said about the UFC at the Netflix fighting event today. Ronda Rousey and Francis Ngannou didn’t hold back their disdain for the company. Ronda especially was taking shots at fighter pay and saying Dana isn’t in charge anymore…

How good are you with those degen parlays? Ever managed to get a big win out of few bucks? Why dont you try first your luck in games and rounds UFC predictions? There are lately lots of casinos offer results prediction contest where you have to predict multiple winners to get the prize.

What are your thought on UFC White House hard? Main and co-main events are nice, but the rest... Nickal vs Daukaus? Rising (maybe not ) star vs Mr. who... O'Malleys opponent. Chandler who will lose again. Now, as few days have passed and I have time to think about card; ffs, where are big stars? First ever event at White House and they have made card that is just like average numeral event. It would be a disaster if Gane pokes someone in eyes again and screws event. Trump would kick out Hunter and UFC from States if that happens

These degen parlays are clearly something more like buying small into a memecoin at under 100k market cap and hope it's the next huge runner that'll go over 1 billion USD market cap.  Lolol.  It's a loser's play but it's fun.    If somehow I hit one of these, I'll be happy to share some of the winnings with you guys...  So mark those picks.

As for the White House event, it's fine but pretty disappointed it isn't Topuria vs Pimblett and Pereira vs Aspinall.  And I love the other match ups they got in so far except for the O'Malley vs Zahabi one.

Daukas vs Bo Nickal is a decent match up.  Daukas having a good run on his return in the UFC and Nickal still needing to get more experience in the cage.  I don't mind it.

Diego Lopes vs Steve Garcia is gonna be a baaangeerrr!!!  As you guys already know, I'm a huge Garcia fan but why does the UFC do him bad like this.  Lopes is gonna be a tough one for him.

Ruffy vs Chandler is gonna be another banger.  Chandler is still game to go at it even at his age, while Ruffy...  Before Fiziev I knew he's good but I didn't think he was that good until I saw him finish Fiziev which I am also a huge fan of.

I have read that Dana is disappointed because two big fights were dropped. I think they were: 1) Bones refused to fight at White House for payment equivalent Conor Benn got when he signed for Zuffa Boxing. That is 15 millions. 2) In some interviews Makhachev named potential dates of next fight and they were June; maybe he was planning for White House. But now it has revealed *just recently) he has hand injury, needs surgery so he skips that event. Maybe the fights were Bones vs maybe Pereira or Gane, Makhachev vs Topuria in welterweight.

If Pereira faces Aspinall, he will fall victim to Aspinall due to his weak ground game. The UFC would never put Pereira in such a challenge. They don't want the bubble to burst...

I wish matchups were determined by some pre-set, publicly known rules. For example, the champion must fight within 4 months, or challenges from close weight classes must be answered within 5 months, or other fair rules...

Another thing about Jones is he's been having a recurring hip injury that might need hip replacement.  At least that's what the word on the street is.  Not sure if true.

If it's true what he says, that they made him an offer, then he has a point. It wouldn't be the UFC rejecting him on the basis of a lack of trust that he would show up or be fit enough. It was all about the money.
It's a bit of a shame. Jones Vs Pereira sounds much better than Gane Vs Pereira.

I hear Ronda also didn't hold back in criticising the UFC, but I don't know the details. Anyhow, it's not the best PR when two of the biggest former stars engage in social media beef against you.

And wherever the truth lies, I agree they should release Jones from his contract if they don't think he's fit (or trustworthy) enough to let him fight again.

tokeweed, how successful are you with your crazy degen parlays? Do you always make such huge bet combos? I remember on duelbits there were (I think there are now as well) UFC free pick competitions, and almost nobody was ever able to predict all fight correctly. Why dont you divide it into two parlays for prelims and main card? 5 out of 5 are more easy to predict than 10 out of 10. I think prelim prediction often ruin your bet, as fights are more unexpected.

Lately I feel like I've been repeating myself and might have derailed the topic a bit, but I still don't agree with you on this. The UFC, which previously gave Jones an old firefighter (Miocic), could give Alex an old greengrocer or an old butcher when the day comes, or even give him you or me...

It could be in December or in the following months, but if what you say turns out to be true, then all my words about the UFC will be invalid. Until that day, however, I will continue to think that the UFC's acronym stands for Ultimate Fighting Circus...

He said a while ago that he’s retired. I even saw an interview where he said he was only pretending he would fight again to keep his name relevant so he could continue earning money. If you believe what he said back then, you have to appreciate the success he has had in keeping his name in the discussion long after his last fight has ended.

I admit Jones deserves to be in the UFC Hall of Fame. He's one of the UFC's greatest fighters and legends. I love his fighting style, as he excels in both striking and grappling. But for some reason, I see Jones as playing in his comfort zone and unwilling to take risks by trying new things. He has an impressive record, with more than half of his fights being for belts. But in recent years, I think Jones has become very selective in his opponents, only willing to fight opponents he has a good chance of defeating. When he fought Miocic, I'm sure most fans thought Jones would win. Although the UFC labeled this fight as a GOAT fight at heavyweight, Miocic was already past his prime. His loss to Ngannou also made Miocic no longer the GOAT. Another fight was against Gane. Jones seemed unwilling to fight Ngannou, but when Ngannou left the UFC and Gane was the challenger, Jones accepted without hesitation. Gane hadn't been training in MMA for long. Even though he was a top 1 heavyweight at the time, Gane was very weak in wrestling and Jones beat him with wrestling and submissions.

Successful?  Lmao...  Winning full event parlays is like winning the lottery.  And I bet 10 bucks from time to time for the lulz.  But this year I'll try to bet every week.  And I'm getting busier doing other stuff irl and mostly trading perps at Hyperliquid for my cryptos stuff.  So I got less time looking into each match up for singles. 

Anyway, if you have confident picks to include in the weekly degen parlay, you guys can post them if you want.  Maybe for next week I'll wait until Friday before making the bet to give everybody enough time to make their suggestions.

His media presence only worsened the situation. It wasn't for positive things that he gained attention; it was precisely for quitting fights and making the UFC hesitant to sign any contracts. He's currently living off his past and will probably never fight again, whether due to physical problems or contractual issues.

I am going to bet only on Vallejos. I dont find this event much exiting, decent but nothing more. Dont see fights that would really make me turn TV at night Emmett must retire soon. 41, lost two last fights. I dont think he is going to stay for long in UFC. I think Vallejos will have an easy win.

It's confirmed. Sean Strickland is getting a title shot and will fight Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 328 on 9th May.

So far, the confirmed fights are:

Does anyone here think Strickland has any chance of winning? He would have to be able to keep the fight standing, but I have my doubts if he can do that.
Anyhow, it's still a good match-up and probably more entertaining than Khamzat Vs Imanov. The build-up before the event should be pretty intense. Strickland will probably try to get into Khamzat's head as far as possible.

Nice!  I hope it happens so we could finally see who the best HW MMA fighter is.  I mean let's keep it real between Jones, Ngannou and Aspinall, the top two guys are Jones and Ngannou.  Aspinall is mostly untested.

Yeah, I've seen it this morning.
Ngannou Vs Jones would be great and a perfect ending to their careers.
Unfortunately for Jon, he's still tied to the UFC contract and there's no way they would release him. It's not even a bad will from the UFC, it's just releasing him to fight for a competitor promotion (Jake Paul's MVP) would be acting against their interest. Such move could potentially expose them to a lawsuit from their shareholders.

If we are ever to see Jon Vs Francis, it would have to be either done by the UFC, or at least the UFC would have to be involved in some capacity, in such a way that they could make some profit from the fight. That scenario is not impossible. If they could still profit from Jon's and Francis' fame, then why not? Even if the UFC's profit would be small (due to the high financial expectations of both fighters), that would still be a good marketing move, i.e., burying the hatchet with Jon/Francis simultaneously and softening the bad reputation they have right now of being cheap and exploitative.
