I am going to bet only on Vallejos. I dont find this event much exiting, decent but nothing more. Dont see fights that would really make me turn TV at night Emmett must retire soon. 41, lost two last fights. I dont think he is going to stay for long in UFC. I think Vallejos will have an easy win.

Jake Paul is offering Bones 30 millions for joining his MVP promotion. He already has Ngannou. If Jake organizes Ngannou vs Bones, Dana would have heart attack.
You would think that this fight between Emmett and Vallejos is a hands down win for the favorite.
But haven't we seen all underdogs in the main events so far this year win their fights?

Just seen the announcement for Strickland vs Chimaev and the other fights coming up in the next few months.
Think that is the biggest one out of all of them.
UFC has been getting alot of slack for the upcoming card at the white house and their competition are starting to get the fighters everybody wants to see.

Another guy we should be looking out for at HW is Pereira.

If Pereira takes heavyweight belt, that is going to be amazing. No only because he will be first tripple champ, but he will be a guy who is first, without elite wrestling and grappling skills, are going to be best current MMA fighter.

Remember when Pereira first appeared in UFC 5 years ago, we were talking that kickboxer will quickly be dominated by wrestlers-grapplers. We talked that he is in UFC to bring more challenge for Izzy (because he became bored). Now this guy is dominating every opponent.

Ffs, 5 years have already passed…

Does anyone here think Strickland has any chance of winning? He would have to be able to keep the fight standing, but I have my doubts if he can do that.
Anyhow, it's still a good match-up and probably more entertaining than Khamzat Vs Imanov. The build-up before the event should be pretty intense. Strickland will probably try to get into Khamzat's head as far as possible.
In my personal opinion, Chimaev has an explosive fighting style, almost always pressuring his opponents from the first second. Chimaev is very dangerous on the ground, especially in rounds 1 and 2, where he will try to target and take his opponent to the ground, then pressure them with wrestling while trying to finish them. So, I think if Strickland wants to increase his chances, he should keep the fight standing and keep Chimaev at arm's length in the early rounds.

Remember when Pereira first appeared in UFC 5 years ago, we were talking that kickboxer will quickly be dominated by wrestlers-grapplers. We talked that he is in UFC to bring more challenge for Izzy (because he became bored). Now this guy is dominating every opponent.

It's been five years since Pereira's UFC debut. I still remember Izzy was in his prime, and Pereira was brought in with a ghost story from Adesanya's past. As far as I can remember, it didn't take long for Alex to get his first title shot. Alex has achieved the highest level of success in the UFC and his name is already part of the UFC's legend. If Alex actually fights in HW and wins a world title, he will become the first triple champion and a true triple champion in the UFC.

I want Strickland to win. Will he? We’ll have to wait to find out. I do feel like Chimaev has lost a step from his days of just running people over, but maybe that is a result of facing better opponents. One thing I believe is that this won’t be a quick fight. Both guys will be punishing each other and this is the first fight I’ve looked forward to seeing in a while.

Chimaev and Strickland has been in same gym for a while and Strickland told that first he was impressed how Chimaev handled easy much heavier guys and Chimaev won him in playful manner all the time. I dont know why all of a sudden Strickland has become so much against Chimaev and that he can be on same level with him. Year or more ago, Strickland was talking that nobody is even close to same strength and skill as Chimaev. Now as Khamzat moved to middleweight, Strickland no longer talk friendly Cheesy Hyping their fight? Strickland would better be at White House event with mic on Cheesy He would make some show there for sure Cheesy

The Strickland vs. Khamzat fight will be great. The question on everyone's mind is whether Khamzat will be able to take down Strickland. I remember the Gilbert Buns fight; when Khamzat wanted to fight standing up, he almost got knocked out. He definitely won't make that decision in this fight; he'll try to get Strickland to submit with a takedown. If Strickland can defend against the takedown, he could finish Khamzat with his economical standing fight, but I don't think that will happen Khamzat will take him to the ground.

Seems that the new format for these fight nights under the new deal for the UFC has them beginning very early.
Usually they begin around this time but when I tuned in they are already past the early preliminary fights and into the prelims.
So by the time the main event fight starts it will be in a couple of hours from now so barely into the night but early evening.
They are around five fights into the prelims. So the Tavares vs Anders fight just began.
Thought Anders would be finished after getting knocked out but he survived the second round and is being competitive again with takedowns on his opponent.
Looking at the odds for Vallejos didn't know there was such a wide gap between him and Emmett.
Think I saw the odds for the underdog at 4.80x last I checked.
I really do think Josh will put up a good fight and they have really made him look like someone without any experience with those odds.

But haven't we seen all underdogs in the main events so far this year win their fights?

We have seen how underdogs wins, you are right, but not this time. We have old guy who has taken a lot of damage in his career vs a guy who mostly win by KOes. Even if Emmett is more skilled, a punch to his chin will give x2 or x3 effect. With years, you cant train chin, only make it more vulnerable. If they both were more grappling oriented guys, the fight might be more close, no matter what odds were. It was enough for Vallejos to land one counter punch to turn whole fight.

Prolly it just depends from event to event.  And the US just recently removed the daylight saving time.  Before the removal, the matches start an hour later in other time zones outside the US.

Here are the results.  How did everybody do from a betting perspective?  As for me, I just had the thread's degen parlay which lost of course.  Cheesy Cheesy

Kevin Vallejos def. Josh Emmett via TKO (strikes) – Round 1, 3:33
Gillian Robertson def. Amanda Lemos via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)
Jose Delgado def. Andre Fili via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)
Marwan Rahiki def. Harry Hardwick via TKO (retirement) – Round 2, 5:00
Ion Cutelaba def. Oumar Sy via submission (guillotine choke) – Round 1, 4:21
Charles Johnson def. Bruno Silva via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 30-27)
Myktybek Orolbai def. Chris Curtis via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
Vitor Petrino def. Steven Asplund via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)
Elijah Smith def. SuYoung You via submission (rear-naked choke) – Round 2, 1:04
Manoel Sousa def. Bolaji Oki via knockout (punch) – Round 3, 4:12
Eryk Anders def. Brad Tavares via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)
Bia Mesquita def. Montserrat Rendon via submission (rear-naked choke) – Round 1, 2:07
Hecher Sosa def. Luan Lacerda via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)
Piera Rodriguez def. Sam Hughes via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

Jake Paul is offering Bones 30 millions for joining his MVP promotion. He already has Ngannou. If Jake organizes Ngannou vs Bones, Dana would have heart attack.
Haha, Dana White will really get a heart attack. I feel like Dana White doesn't care about UFC anymore and does his job as as employed person who can't wait to finish the work and go home.

You would think that this fight between Emmett and Vallejos is a hands down win for the favorite.
I love Emmett's boxing. Josh Emmett VS Ilia Topuria was an amazing fight. Honestly, I couldn't imagine if Topuria could beat him.

Pereira is an amazing fighter and his story is also very fascinating. The guy was addicted to alcohol and beat his addiction. He basically came from a tribe, came out of nothing, out of nowhere, started training at the age of 25 if I remember it well and managed to become one of the best fighter. I adore him for this. And his weight cuts are also something else (but Conor McGregor is a different beast when it comes to weight cuts).
I think that he can become the first 3 weight class champion and the next person with such potential might be Ilia Topuria.

Yup, that's the most likely outcome.  But would want to be surprised and it be a back and forth banger at least.  Lol.  Don't really care who wins.

Anyway here are my picks for the thread's degen parlay.  What do you guys think?  Need you guys to help me out and win one of these.  Grin Grin

Evloev
Riley
Page
Baraniewski
Duncan
Campbell
Jones
Keita
Pinto
Kondratavicius
Pericic
Al-Selwady
Dyer
Mullins

The total line is just at 115.30...  10 bucks wins just 1153 USD.  But the picks could change depending on your suggestions.  Won't make the bet til Friday.

You again are making crazy parlay? Cheesy Split it into main and prelims at least. I havent yet thought who is going to win, but I am sure in Evloev and MVP. I see many local fighters there vs world mix, so I was in a rush to fill parlay, I would pick local fighters in every fight Cheesy

Pay attention to Dolidze vs Duncan fight. Ranked Dolidze with tons of experience vs unranked guy with 8-2 in UFC (but against filler fights, so not so many skulls in his career). Dolidze comes with +4.00 as underdog. Dunno why Duncan is such a favorite. Dolidze can pull an upset here. Risk 2.50 bucks and it might cover your crazy 10 bucks parlay loss Cheesy Cheesy

I would only change these fights:

Roman Dolidze wins because he has more experience and decent grappling.

Danny Silva wins because he has much more technical striking, better takedown defense, tends to land more strikes per minute, and has superior cardio.

Trócoli wins because he has superior grappling, can finish in various positions, and has experience against grapplers.

In the Louie Sutherland vs. Brandon Peričić fight, I think they are very evenly matched, but Sutherland can fight standing and on the ground, maintains his cardio throughout all rounds, and uses takedowns to win the round by control.

That's my opinion; I agree with the rest.

That would make sense.
As for making those degen parlays maybe try just betting singles instead.
Had this one hit and it was the more likely outcome after what everybody had said in here from the very start with Vallejos knocking out the old guy. Cheesy

You again are making crazy parlay? Split it into main and prelims at least. I havent yet thought who is going to win, but I am sure in Evloev and MVP. I see many local fighters there vs world mix, so I was in a rush to fill parlay, I would pick local fighters in every fight

Dolidze comes with +4.00 as underdog. Dunno why Duncan is such a favorite. Dolidze can pull an upset here. Risk 2.50 bucks and it might cover your crazy 10 bucks parlay loss.
I would have to agree with you on the way to place those bets.
Better to do them last minute just so to get the feel how the fight night is going then place those bets.
Some have even had success with putting their bets on live fights but the markets can close at anytime.

I think betting on fights is really risky.

Here’s how I see it: Khamzat will smash Strickland to pieces, but a lucky punch could make Strickland the winner. That would be a really unlucky situation for anyone who placed a bet.

For example, in a football match, if the favorite team scores an own goal, there might still be enough time to win the game; some teams can turn a 2-0 deficit into a 2-3 victory. But a fighter as weak as Strickland could end this fight or any other fight instantly with a lucky punch.

Of course, we don’t live in a completely predictable world in any area of life, but I think fights are riskier than most.

@everyone. Are we witnessing another main event MMA fighter who is being underestimated again? This Lerone is fighting in front of his countrymen which their cheers will give him more strength and stamina to protect himself from the attacks of this Mosvar the Russian wrestler. I reckon uncle Dana has declared that Lerone is ready to defeat this Russian wrestler!

I saw Strickland posting on social media that he was going to win. Promising victory seems like a cocky move but he’s been calling out Khamzat and talking shit for months now. He’s going to get the fight that he wanted and I’m hoping he gets the outcome he wants as well. It’ll be a fun fight to watch.

It is not that Lerone is underestimated, its Evloev who will turn fight again into boring wrestling-control-hold and will win by UD because he did not allow Lerone to do anything. Lerone is also a decision maker, but in a fight between two UD, the one who is more skilled and boring wins Cheesy Instead of cheers for Lerone, countrymen would boo Evloev every time he pushes Lerone to fence and takes him on the ground.

Evloev by another boring UD. Easy bet Cheesy

I like the Danny Silva lean as the underdog and I change one of my own leans to Natheniel Wood, another underdog.

So the updated roster for the degen parlay for this thread is now:

Evloev
Riley
Page
Baraniewski
Duncan
Silva
Jones
Wood
Pinto
Kondratavicius
Pericic
Al-Selwady
Dyer
Mullins

Updated line for the parlay is 507.24.  Grin  10 bucks wins 5072.40 USD...  Keep the suggestions coming guys.

Here's a vid to watch.
