Lets move on to next event, UFC 327. Finally a nice card. Jiri probably is going to take his belt back, who he vacated long time ago. Or Ulberg is going to continue his winning streak? Odds are almost even.

Costa vs Murzakanov in light heavyweight matchup. Paulo Costa debut in new division. Secret juice did not let him to stay in middleweight anymore Cheesy Nice opponent for a debut fight. Dude with 16-0 and 12 knockouts Cheesy There is a chance that Costa would screw things and cancel fight last second.

I think Prochazka should win this with relative ease. He's good at striking, he can throw some crazy punches, and the best thing about him is that you never know what he's going to do. He's unpredictable at times, and for me, that's more of an advantage than anything else.

Prochazka is gambling of UFC. You never know what this crazy samurai will do in the octagon.
I dont think Prochazka is gambling with UFC.
Just look at his fight record, he won most of his fights and he has much more experience than Ulberg, even if he is few years younger than him.
He only lost from Pereira in UFC and he had TKO wins against many other top guys.
And yes I know about his crazy preparations for fights  Grin

By gambling I meant that look at his fighting style. When was the last time you remember him losing by decision or not getting face smashed? He is testing his luck by going low defense and gamble if his chin is strong for this punch or not. Each exchange he goes in is a stress for his fans Cheesy Each time before attack he is throwing dice (like in AD&D Cheesy), then he either gets damage or not, or get it critical Cheesy

Pumared said that Prochazka is unpredictable, but I would say that he surprises his opponents with no defense and risky attacks. Like all-in or nothing Cheesy

I don't remember exactly, but if I'm not mistaken, Poatan kicked him precisely because he realized he was going to come forward without much defense in the head. It was something like that, and in a way, that's also surprising because in the middle of a fight, a great fighter not having that kind of defense is alarming.

I'm checking the odds and I see Prochazka Vs Ulberg is almost 50/50 fight with no clear favourite.
I honestly don't know who I would pick if I had to bet. Ulberg seems more disciplined and organised as compared to chaotic and unpredictable Jiri, but who knows if this will work in his favour or the opposite.
We can tell with near certainty that the fight will not go to a distance. Ulberg has a good finish ratio and only 4 out og his 14 fights went to judges. Prochazka is on another level. The last time any of his fights was resolved by decision was 10 years ago. He either KO's or gets KO'ed.
I'm rooting for Jiri, as I like him for his entertaining style, but it's anyone's fight.

Where is tokeweed? Few days left until next event, and he hasnt posted conference or previous fight video, nor havent announced his crazy-huge-parlay picks.

I would go with Prochazka. Murzakanov by KO, because only hope for Costa to win is to rely on his athletics and stamina. I dont think Murzakanov is experienced enough in long fights. Blaydes by KO/TKO. Because he is fighting unranked (again, UFC started to frequently put unranked with top5 guys) who has never been tested by real top opponent. Hokit is new to MMA. Any top guy must eat such opponents for breakfast. And probably Pico. Even though his opponent is former Bellator champ with numerous title defenses, and tons of experience. Pitbull isnt doing good in UFC. Kinda cursed.

It appears that everyone is predicting that it will be a victory for Jiri? Heheheh I speculate that the strange movements and tactics of Jiri will cause him to be very much tired and this will be the chance of Carlos Ulberg to cause a knockout with a kick on Jiri's head or give him a power pants hehehehe.

I very much agree on the odds for this, however!

Odds for the UFC 327 fights from 2up.io are as follows:

Jiri Prochazka x1.82 Vs Carlos Ulberg x1.90
Kevin Holland x1.88 Vs Randy Brown x1.84
Cub Swanson x1.82 Vs Nate Landwehr x1.90
Chris Padilla x1.57 Vs Marquel Mederos x2.28
Francisco Prado x2.38 Vs Charlie Radtke x1.53
Kelvin Gastelum x1.34 Vs Vicente Luque x3.04
Curtis Blaydes x1.76 Vs Josh Hokit x1.98
Mateusz Gamrot x1.47 Vs Esteban Ribovics x2.53
Patricio Freire x3.16 Vs Aaron Pico x1.32
Tatiana Suárez x1.60 Vs Lupita Godinez x2.23
Dominick Reyes x1.64 Vs Johnny Walker x2.15

The event looks promising, we have a few good pairs here. Apart from the main fight, the one that interests me the most is Gamrot Vs Ribovics. Gamrot is the clear favourite but it won't be easy. Argentinian is well-rounded with a good finish ratio, including 7 KO and 5 submissions (out of the total of 15 wins).
Gamrot announced that he's going to go with a different style in this fight. If that's true, there's a risk it could backfire.

That was a really good event. I have only predicted correctly Aaron Pico. I think it was an easy pick. Rest of my predictions have failed. The most I was surprised by Costa performance. I though he was a dead man walking in this fight, but he has managed to land a nice high kick and finish the guy who was more dangerous. Wish to see him more in light heavyweight. And... Jiri, Jiri. 10 days in mountains did not teach him to keep hand high.

I think Prochazka should win this with relative ease. He's good at striking, he can throw some crazy punches, and the best thing about him is that you never know what he's going to do. He's unpredictable at times, and for me, that's more of an advantage than anything else.

I had no idea of what to do with this but I took a promotion at Jackpotter for a freebet and despite reading a LOT of comments like yours, I went for the older guy. I thought, well even if he loses, maybe go all the way.

Totally did not expect a super blow win in Round 1.

Respect for both these guys, at that age, I would knock myself out trying to throw a punch lol

Looks like there were some surprising results in some of these matches.  Grin  I didn't watch the event tho.

Surprising? Cheesy Jiri gave Ulberg early Bday and Xmas present by giving him champions belt Cheesy How stupid a person should be to try playing and showing off in the octagon? That is exactly what Jiri did. I think Jiri has killed Ulbergs cruciate ligaments aka destroyed his knee (if that is true, that bye-bye champ for half a year as minimum, what is really bad for UFC), and his task to throw low kicks and put belt on his waste in 5 or 10 minutes. But no, he has decided to put his hands low...

You should watch post fight conference also as Jiri was talking some bs there. I had time to watch it only translated into Russian, but he was talking something about honor and fairness. That he did not want to smash Ulber leg with lowkick and win because Ulbergs leg injury, he wanted to win it "fair". Talked some bs about samurai codex. Imho that was stupid from him if that was true. If that would be a title fight, I would do all to avoid gaining damage and will try to win as easy as possible.

UFC 327 might have been the best event we've had in a while. Not because of the match-ups but because of the outcomes and how the fights went.

Prochazka Vs Ulberg - people say Jiri gave away his win etc, but I'm not sure I buy that. He felt overconfident, invited Carlos to a brawl as he wanted to be entertaining and thought that was the easiest way to win, not because of some mercy. The hurt knee was Ulberg's outside leg, so not easy to hit with a low kick and Jiri was chomping at the other, inside leg after it was clear that Ulberg's knee was compromised, so he did try to take advantage of it.
But the story of being merciful works great for Jiri. This story is a perfect reason to make a re-match and a good excuse not to give a title shot to Ankalaev  Grin

As for other fights: a great brawl between Blaydes and Hokit, it looked like it could end any second but it lasted a full 15 minutes. A very good light heavyweight debut by Paolo Costa, who gave previously undefeated Murzakanov a proper beating.
Mateusz Gamrot, ranked 8th in the lightweight division, again took the risk of fighting a promising unranked fighter, Esteban Ribovics, and it paid off. He dominated the fight and got his first submission finish in a long time. Hopefully he will get a name from the top 10 for his next fight.

pawel7777 what makes Jiri even more stupid is that Ulberg by making step back has torn his ACL muscle by himself on right leg, but Jiri has destroyed or damaged his front left leg. Ulberg was completely out of movement (kinda remind me when O'Malley got his leg destroyed and was jumping whole fight, and still won because opponent was same stupid as Jiri). Keep distance, throw low kicks, add some strikes on upper level when opponents try to save leg, take belt home. But, Jiri has chosen different scenario Cheesy

Prochazka went at a strong opponent with a lot of determination, exposing himself too much in my view, and ended up suffering, I think in a similar way to the fight against Pereira. He should have played his game by going backwards, I honestly don't know what happened there.
