I have just seen this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5139388
When I saw the negative trust I thought it was for loan default when I went details I saw the different reason. But 1 thing kept my attention. I saw the DT who gave negative trust also a negative trusted person.
The DT: IconFirm
The negative trust given by: dogie
Reference for the negative trust: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1064824
Negative trust received at: 2016-05-25
DT made by: lovesmayfamilis

If any DT1 make anyone's DT2 then why s/he cant give counter feedback if the person is legit. And if DT1 not sure the person is legit or not then how s/he can make that person DT2?

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

IconFirm is trusted by DT2 memeber tvplus006, who is trusted by DT1 member lovesmayfamilis.

I've noticed the DT1 members (three of them) who've voted for lovesmayfamilis have a lot of votes from members with negative trust.  A lot of their DT votes are a result of the Anti Lauda movement.

I am using Depth 2. You are also seeing the truth. In the meantime there is two change:
1. Lafu excluded.
2. lovesmayfamilis removed from DT.
That's why now you can't see him/her on DT list.

Removal of  lovesmayfamilis is sad because with that a lot of hopes of Anti Lauda  movement (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5103988.200) died away  Lips sealed

1. Lafu excluded.
2. lovesmayfamilis removed from DT.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;dtview shows they're both on DT1:
Lafu: 16
lovesmayfamilis: 1

I've noticed the DT1 members (three of them) who've voted for lovesmayfamilis have a lot of votes from members with negative trust.
I'm quoting myself into this topic:
The users with red trust don't have a deciding vote, and many of them have been blacklisted.

I don't plan to highlight the blacklisted users from my Trust list viewer, but starting next week I'll leave out their votes from the Rank up pipeline. My list might be incomplete though, there is no official public blacklist.

I mean Lafu excluded IconFirm on Lafu's trust list.
And lovesmayfamilis removed IconFirm from lovesmayfamilis trust list. Hopefully, think now it is clear.

**sigh**

So, tagging scam promoters on the forum is now a witchhunting offence is it?

I really can't be bothered getting into a monkeypoo fight over this, so I'l just copy/paste my reply to the original post:

Hello. Sorry for the lateness of my reply - I don't live on this forum & my online time is limited.

For the record, I have & always will tag scams & accounts that promote them, weather the accounts are spamming or not & weather they are noobs or legendary, as do all forum members who care about this forum & crypto in general. The main reason this is done is so that I can see that the account is not trustworthy, weather other members of the forum can see it or not is not my concern, but for those that can see it - I hope it helps them avoid being scammed.

If tagging scams & those that promote them is trust abuse then 95% of forum users are trust abusers. To repeat, I did not tag you for spamming, I tagged you for promoting a scam.

I get tagged myself a lot for tagging scammers & scam promoters, I even get accused of being 20, 30 or 40 other people because of it - but that's fine - it comes with the territory of course, but you won't see me starting threads all over the forum complaining about it & I certainly wouldn't think of getting ugly with anyone over it. Like I said, I have a life outside of this forum.

That being said, you are not the first person to contact me about the Yobit scam feedback. A few other forum members contacted me via PM after they had removed the Yobit sig asking if I would now remove the feedback & a couple of them actually apologised for promoting the Yobit scam.  Some have also thanked me.  Of course, once they were no longer promoting the Yobit scammers I readily & happily removed the feedback.

Then there are others who swear, scream, shout & go into meltdown because their beloved profile that means so much to them had somehow been eternally scarred for life. I say that if their profile meant so much to them, they probably shouldn't have used it to promote a scam exchange then.

Tl,Dr

Let's have a little etiquette please. It's never too late to repair your beloved profile, especially now that you're no longer promoting scams with it (thanks theymos!).

I am trying to find "spamming" part in feedbacks you have received, but I just don't see it.

Maybe to update topic with new details such as: "I am tagged because I advertised shady exchange"

Exactly - thank you marlboroza. You can expect to be accused of being me too now....lol

This post is not regarding whom and why you gave negative trust. This post is for how a negatively trusted person can be a Default Trusted person. Who has been tagged by another DT and the person who has made you DT not gave counter feedback? If s/he cant give counter feedback then why s/he can include you in DT?

What does it matter?
It's the trust system.
Are you bored or something?
There was something power misused/mistake that's why now you are not on DT if they were right and I am wrong then more people add you on DT. But now check your DT score last time I saw -2. Hopefully, think you got your answer.

So, tagging scam promoters on the forum is now a witchhunting offence is it?

You're entitled to tag whomever you want, and others are entitled to remove you from their trust network.  That's how the system works.

Theymos recommended against tagging the participants of that campaign for spamming, and to this point the assertions that the exchange in question is a scam have yet to be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.  So it's not surprising that many will find your reviews of the participants frivolous.

BTW; I tend to agree that the exchange in question is very likely a scam, but again I have not seen enough evidence to prove it beyond a reasonable doubt.  To tag someone based on my suspicion would be out of line.

Well this escalated very quickly  Shocked

Really ICOFirm IconFirm?
Is this the reason to tag someone?
Because they "seem upset" or they disagreed with you on something?
Well even if they seemed upset, I don't think a red tag is really necessary here otherwise this negative trust thing would lose meaning real quick if people started tagging other people they disagree with.

You don't just dish out negs every time you feel emotional otherwise what you are trying to fight for will no longer look credible to the members.

I'm just leaving this here:
Forgiveness and de-escalation are key to getting Trust working smoothly:
 - Forgiveness: Often people make fairly small mistakes, but then they seemingly get red-trusted for life. This isn't really fair, and it discourages participation due to paranoia: if you think that you have a 1% chance of running afoul of some unwritten rule and getting red-trusted for life, you might just avoid the marketplace altogether. Red trust should mostly be based on an evaluation of what the person is likely to do in the future moreso than a punishment/mark-of-shame.
 - De-escalation: If some people end up locked in a feud where they're only really giving negative trust to each other in retaliation for negative trust, then one of them should propose burying the hatchet and removing the negative trust. Otherwise it never gets resolved, and everyone is worse-off for it.
This is wat neutral feedback is meant for. And I mean that both ways Tongue

You will have to laugh if you see the reference and then match with the comment. On reference, I told about his/her DT power and on comment s/he told about the trust s/he has given to others.

I left Neutral feedback for this user (IconFirm) and also for blurryeyed based on this investigation: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1064824.0

According to the investigation both username (same person) are guilty for Ban evasion (I am not sure if this is red tag worthy so I give benefit of the doubt) and also tagging people to satisfy their own personal issue.

The bold and green font color;
I wonder how many of us really is following this instruction from theymos? If we would then we may not see all these negativity surrounding the Trust Feedback and we would not see people are losing interest on the forum.

I hope we do understand the instructions from theymos and execute the right one where it's needed.

I'd be extra careful with dogie's "investigations". I mean neutral is probably fine but the whole dogie/patman thing reeks of massive ego clash and both sides are using the trust system to settle personal scores. I have excluded dogie years ago for that nonsense but unfortunately he somehow made it back to DT.

I'd forgotten all about that thread, it's hilarious! Thanks for reminding me. Did you also forget that you first left me negative feedback before changing it?

I guess I had a sex change since that thread was started 4 years then? My daughter will be very upset when she finds out......
