Is it possible to have a sticky threads for gambling discussions?

After reading this post I remember as a gambler that there should be a post in the likes of this to remind the gamblers about the responsibility of a good gambler. What I suggest is to create a sticky threads in the gambling discussions.

A lot of people wonder what is the criteria of a good gambler, here are some of my thought about good gambler

a good gambler never chase profit
Profit might be the first reason why people gamble, but a good gambler never attached to the profit, the most important thing in gambling is excitement and fun experience, having profit is just the bonus

a good gambler able to control himself / herself
Self controlling is very important in gambling, without a clear mind there will be a lot of mistakes in betting and even causing reckless betting and losing all of the money in split second

a good gambler know when to stop
Setting a limit is very important in gambling, setting a lost limit will prevent you to over spend your money and setting a win limit is  also important because in the long run the house got a bigger chance to win due to the house edge

a good gambler never cause any problem to the surrounding
A good gambler know that the chances of losing money in gambling is huge, so a gambler should never used daily needs money or borrowing money to gamble, and a gambler should never think of robbery or stealing to gamble

a good gambler can accept lost
When losing a good gambler won't blame the surrounding, cursing or accusing the  casino as fraud places, losing is the half part of gambling, if you can't accept lost then dont start to gamble

a good gambler should able to manage the time
A good gambler know how to split the time for family, for friends and for gambling, a good gambler never neglected family or friend just because of gambling

We must encourage people to become a good gambler, so people won't always have a bad judgement about gambler

Again it would be great to see sticky threads on gambling discussions just help out also some of the gamblers being brought down to deep addiction in playing gambling.

A responsible gambler is a good gambler.

Note: I just move this topic as suggested but this concern only is minimal and not really necessary. The objectives is only to remind every gamblers to be responsible by enjoying a game and not compromising other important matters of living life.

A sticky thread from a moderator would be great including different forms of gambling and how to act responsibly.
Still almost every gambler are aware of this yet some just can't follow their own rules which would lead to addiction and even ruins the life.
People should realize gambling won't make them rich or rectify their losses before it's too late.

It is true it wouldn't affect the gambler's they are already aware of it they have read it,
But still they couldn't apply it on their self.
The problem is some gambler's couldn't control their self .
It is all about self control no matter how many times you tell them or remind them it wouldn't matter if they couldn't control their own greed.

It is not a bad idea but I think this discussion should be moved to the Meta board. It is forum related and thus it could get the needed approval if it is on Meta.
I agree with Bitinity that no matter if there is a sticky thread or not users are simply too lazy to read what it says in the same way they are too lazy to read the rules.

Agree, even a gambling addict knows this and still cannot stop from ganbling. Bad habits are hard to break. It requires a great deal of discipline to avpid getting addicted to gambling. So, even with sticky posts on the thread, this will be useless if gamblers cannot control it's greed and addiction.

All these points have been repeated multiple times here in this Gambling discussion thread but still people do not follow them properly. If gamblers could only follow the rules stated above, they would never be end up in a terrible situations. Its good that you summarized them again.

Are you guys actually saying that the stickied threads in this forum are pointless? Hilarious. These stickied threads are invaluable sources of information for some people while some people don't care about such threads.

Overall, such threads will always be useful since some people find them very useful even if some others don't.

The idea is well come but I think having a sticky such as how to become a good gambler might be retrogressive to those that had gambling problems and would encourage affected users to go back to their old ways to prove they are "good gamblers".

Well, it's entirely depends on the mod to have a sticky thread in gambling discussions since they are the one's that can stick a thread but my prediction is that if there are lots of player agree to have a sticky thread then there will be a voting that will happen if you agree having sticky thread or not.

I don't know if putting a sticky would be helpful since not all people will choose to gamble since it has a bad effect in the long run. And i don't think someone wants to or the mods want someone to blame for putting something that is not so "righteous to the others.

Short answer is yes we can have sticky threads on the gambling discussion itself but just for the post you have recommended I don't think it fits very well to become a sticky thread on the gambling discussion. For one it does not relate to any kind of guideline or reminder on the gambling diccussion section itself. Most sticky threads we see are topics about the rules within those section and maybe a few guidelines (like this one) in which they remind members to avoid potential scams. The topic you recommended simply isn't about rules or guideline for me I can even call it as a mere opinion of him of what he thinks is a good gambler for him.

Most of the people might know it but every section have some sticky then why not here.

What gamblers need is not just to read a sticky thread or another thread because they really to know what they suppose to do in gambling because if they make one mistake, then they could losing their money.
The gamblers will learn or not it might depend on them itself because they should know what they did in gambling.
Playing gambling can give a big risk to them, and if they cannot control themselves, then the chance to lose the money will be big and wide open.

I mean a sticky thread should be a combination of certain common sense must be applied when a newbie enters into gambling. This list don't serve any better for the newbie. Some sorts of awareness to avoid being scammed would be a good idea.

Well regardless of the example used in this thread, we cannot deny the fact that the gambling discussion board should have a 'sticky feature' to highlight essential posts and also to prevent thread spamming. Most of the time, there are threads that are repeatedly being created and share the same vein as the other threads only with different wordings.
Implementing a sticky feature will address multiple problems at the same time while benefitting the board in general.

I doubt that sticky thread is needed there. People still wouldn't read it. But maybe we need warning message, something similar like we have in Securities or Investor based games sections (quotes below). Something like "Play responsible. Don't risk more than you afford to lose" would be fine.

I agree with you. Especially Gambling discussions is a big mess. There we have lot of discussion threads about various sports competitions - it's fun to discuss about sports, no doubts, I often post myself there, but I'm not sure that Bitcoin forum is the best place for such discussion.
But how about all these repeated topics and and stupid questions about gambling - it's the biggest problem of this section. For example -
"When is your perfect gambling time or day?"
"Can gambling turn an atheist to theist and superstitious?"
Do we really need threads like these?

The idea is good and for most people sticky threads are guides and really help to get some information. One thing is for sure I guess few will only read it on that board but it still good to have it as a reminder as gambling is a serious matter for some here to earn bitcoins or other altcoins.
