Be careful and stay away from telegram groups, most of them are scammers. If the talk is all about OTC and bitcoin trades, they'll come to you as if they've found another person to scam.

Let me share a few I found:

You do not need to share any OTC Bitcoin telegram groups. There is no purpose of such groups but to collect bitcoins and money from the innocent people of the group and then exit scam. If you are new to it, i will advise to stay away from it.

Telegram is maybe the worst place to trade. Accounts can be changed completely by changing the normal username and @name. I don't see that feature as a bad thing but it's clear that such features don't guarantee a safe trade.
And I'm sure the scammers use trash sms to create new accounts, the majority of scammers which are PMing me all the time are deleting their accounts very soon after they contacted me. I don't know if there are more real users or scammers in Telegram right now.

If you want to do OTC trades you can use Bitcointalk with a trusted escrow service. That's safer because the escrow will collect the crypto first and then, if both of you sent it to the escrow, the escrow will sent the exchnged crypto to you. That prevents the other party from running away with the funds.

I think telegram is very scam.

Telegram is a messaging app and it's good as other messaging app but the problem right now, it's being used and taken advantage by many scammers.

I'm just correcting you in a sense that telegram isn't a scam because it's a good app and platform for communicating. But users are abusing the good use of it and is being flooded by scammers, so if someone has been attracted doing transactions there, think again for so many times before dealing.

@1miau - has explained how someone can pull a exit scam on the OP.

And recently, Telegram now lets people delete every message sent or received. So now it make things complicated. Imagine if the scammer just deleted both your messages and you don't have any proof whatsoever. So don't take that chances if I'm in your shoes, just go OTC on exchanges, IMHO.

it's quite difficult right now to find OTC, I think it's better to just use Dobiexchange. The market has an OTC feature, of course to make a withdrawal will require KYC.
But for me that was the better choice than just trust to the people on the telegram group which has 90% of being scammed.

What the hell is Dobiexchange? Never heard of it, so I have my skepticism as well. There's a lot of reputable exchanges which has OTC, so I'm the OP, I wouldn't just go and used exchanges that seems to be new or there's no enough reviews on it. But I would echo the sentiments of what majority of the members are advising, stay away from Telegram groups, chances are you might be another victim of scammers out there.

If you feel the need to go on Telegram to do a deal with anonymous strangers when there are exchanges, exchanges with dark pools, professional OTC desks and P2P options like Bisq then balls to you and you deserve to be ravaged from every conceivable angle.

telegram is where most scammers hide, they will use fake identities or profiles just scam other people.  Everyday i recieved messages coming from different projects ,asking me to invest but i know they are all scammers.

Trading of any form on telegram group is pretty risky. You can easily get scammed and lose your money. I wouldn't advice on that. Even though there are a few legit ones, but it boils down to being very careful. If a deal is too good/cheap to be true, then, it's definitely a Scam.

I have seen many people pays to such telegram groups and loose their funds for fake information. I really do not suggest to anyone to go with such OTC telegram groups.

If someone reports there is a scammer, they ban.  If you have deals, message the admin and he is quick to facilitate.  Good luck!

Trading your cryptocurrencies on such platforms will surely lead you to being scammed bro. Take the pain, register on a registered dealer's site, pass kyc if needed and do your trades safe and sound. I have been scammed of about $150 BTC on such platforms hence i chose not to use those platforms again. Stay away from them if you value your money. Also, don't be too stingy paying off some small transaction fee for the safety of your money. This is what sometimes most people look at to use such telegram trading groups.

Please don't share, that will surely get another noob like you scammed one of these days and the next minute we see is a ranting thread screaming of loss of bitcoins which we can't help recover! Stay way from telegram trades and all form of p2p trade when cashing out your cryptocurrencies. It's best to sell to a recognised and registered company like Coinbase etc.

There are many legit sites available for OTC trades so better using them than trusting the telegram group members reputation because you have high chance of getting scammed.

I would agree so if you think you're dealing important matter then the least you can do is take a screenshot of your conversation. Just in case that person deleted it. So far, the best place to chat people is through slack.
