TBH it seems ethereum is only being used for its smart contracts which is initially it's purpose  and people are using less for it for everyday use like paying for goods and services, so what's happening is other alts on the ethereum blockchain are benefiting from any of its progress and leaving it with scrubs to feed on. Those times of altcoins going up because bitcoin rose seem to be fading.

I'm analyzing the price and the time you posted it, I don't see any reason why you are complaining, you posted when the price was 173.14
two days after you posted it the price was    194.30 now it settled to $187, you just have to be more patient, Eth will go to the moon, that's for sure.

yes, and ethereum already hit $200 before corrections, and bitcoin now run above $7000
i believe ethereum price will growing more, big investors already come back to buy a good cryptocurrencies, because a lot of positive news show up now

I doubt that they convert their ethereum into bitcoin that's why eth is crawling, but at least the price is increasing even it's moving like a snail,  well many people still believe the potential of eth.

I can not say that there are any reasons for such growth and it did not surprise me at all when the ethereum returned to the level of $ 170. now ethereum has shown growth only because there was an increase in Bitcoin price and there are no other reasons anymore. ETH is overrated and I guess it's simply because of its ERC contract. Minus that, ETH is nothing but a shitcoin like most altcoins. The general market crash of 2018 seems to have really exposed it much more as no match for Bitcoin (for those who compare it with Bitcoin, anyway.) From an ATH of $1,432.88 on Jan 13, 2018 to below $200 now, one only hopes that the current bull run of Bitcoin drags ETH up back.

I see it is reasonable growth
so nothing really grows high before bitcoin is really stable.
but if you have trade knowledge, you can take advantage of this situation by trading daily. this can make a small profit
