Markiz73 could be given a second chance because the forum would be better with him, in my opinion. I think he learned the lesson and will not repeat this mistake.Edit: I've changed my mind because of the new circumstances.

Globals can now issue sig bans so it'll happen more often but isn't going to be a let off for everyone (so if half your posts are copy and pastes then forget about it but people who are getting banned for one or two posts from years ago will likely be shown some mercy).
It depends on how many times of plagiarism. If markiz73 only did it one or two times so far, especially did it years ago; and had good net effects, markiz73 surely will be considered and likely given a mercy, and can jump out from the grave. Above is stance of hilariousandco, that is clearly states that second chancce is not a common one for all permanent banned users due to plagiarism. As global mod wrote, each appeal will be considered carefully, by looking and finding past plagiarism, not only what already reported, but also global mod need time to dig deeply and find potential more plagiarism before making decision on a second chance. Past contributions and good net effects are clearly shown by supporters, so it is only takes time to find out more past plagiarism, I guess.

Well there are chances that this account will be retreive again. The system of banning has been twisted a little bit for the good of users. This is really good news to every users that want to continue discussing in cryptocurrency topics but without wearing signatures.
It is a privilege to be here in the forum and wearing a signature is just a bonus. The important thing is that we can learn and earn as an extra source of income. It is not really that bad now. Admins started to become a user friendly forum.

Try to push this case with support of your local mods Xandry and Xal0lex. They can vouch for him.
Xandry already merited (which means "support" i think) this topic. Also, 3 DT1 members TheFuzzStone, Alex_Sr, taikuri13 which all trusted members in russian and english boards, supports unban. Does it not enough? Are these 3 DT members are in Theymos trust list? I think theymos is trusting the moderators more than anyone else in this forum. Xandry meriting it and not writing anything does not clear the picture at all. I am not sure whether Xandry merited it for your effort or whether Xandry agree. (In real sense, Merit does not means I agree, Instead it means I appreciate your logic or reasoning.) PM Xandry, a personal vouch by him to theymos/Hilariousandco will definitely make things smooth.

~snip~
Already 5 DT1 members supporting unban: TheFuzzStone, Alex_Sr, taikuri13, Veleor (with comments) and MaoChao (with merit). Also many active russian members (who merited my OP post) supporting unban. Even xandry (I doubt that merit doesn't mean "support"). Admins, do you really think that we would support ordinary scammer and shitposter?

I also support the appeal to replace markiz73's permaban with a temporary ban and sig ban.

All the good things about this man have already been said above. In my humble opinion, it would be unfair to leave him in a permaban for long-standing plagiarism.
Please examine the possibility of replacing the Autoban with Signature Ban
I agree completely. I support and join the request.

I was asked to help both markiz73 and tvplus006 I ask for the 3 strike method for all members even newbies rather then the insta perm ban below is what I posted on other thread I was pm'd to help this member and to help markiz73 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5142628.0I would love to help but I don't speak russian can't look at his posts and do not know if he is bad or not bad. so for tvplus006 and for markiz73 my help would be as follows. I still like the 1,2,3 strikes you are out plan and consider it to be superior over the insta-perma bans being issued. I am going to quote and post this on the other thread. As I do advocate for: strike 1) 30 day full ban strike 2) 90 day full ban strike 3) by by you are out of here

There are two handled reports of you copy and pasting posts.
Dear admins. I know only about these violations. If I understand correctly, then you do not always publish complete information about violations. Can I get a complete list of my violations?

I cant say anything about ban, but i can say that his posts often were useful for me. He is skilled specialist and his advises helped to lots of people in russian community at least. If it`s possible - unban would be a good decision.

This probably was overlook by the Mods or if it is auto ban then a ban appeal here in the forum will do. Though Mods are busy taking care a lot of issues and concerns, this ban appeal might still be consider lifting the ban and instead prohibit the user to wear signature over a period of time.
My only concern with this matter is that there are other users also that are good and make an appeal.but not granted. Is it unfair for them? I hope that admin will be fair in lifting ban appeals.

In general terms, the number of earned merits as a numerical uncontextualized criteria, be it 30 or 300, is not a criteria to let people of the hook, or to allow them the benefit of a smaller punishment when breaking the rules. Even if we wanted to consider merits a sort of synonym to how useful the person is on the forum to its community, giving him another dimension to the appeal, then merits alone are not the best indicator due to the widespread criteria when awarding them (i.e. some people have managed to get those 30 merits by posting a witty onliner or a meme, whilst others may have needed 30 distinct posts to reach that amount). One would need to look at the nature of the posts behind those merits, which is inherently I figure part of the process of evaluating one as being (or not being) “net positive” for the forum. Some boards, such as Bitcoin Mining and Bitcoin Project Development, receive a very limited amount of merits, so here again the numerical value would be unbalanced versus regular posters on other boards with similar posting capabilities. Posting language can obviously make it harder when evaluating the intent behind, but earned merits is no substitute and should not be a sweetener directly when appealing. Local mods can help put clarify intent in these cases (although not all Local Boards have one).

I know markiz73 as a competent miner, who always shared information with newbies. Yeah, he broke the rules, but damn it, the punishment shouldn't be so hard. My opinion is that in his case it is possible to deviate from the General rules.

I, too, consider that markiz73 deserves a lighter punishment for his mistakes. He can still benefit to the forum.
