It seems they are closing down their business, sorry to those who treat Cryptopia their wallet, all your coins stored here could be gone, I'm glad I have sold all my shitcoins here in Cryptopia who will be the next big exchange to fold, take care of your coins.

I don't know for sure, but most likely they are lost forever. That's very unfortunate for all those people still holding coins on their exchange. Even if that are shitcoins they should have been allowed to withdraw them to a wallet they control. I myself had some very low amounts of ETN (not that I consider ETN a shitcoin), trading it just for fun, so I'm not really affected. But I can imagine people holding there huge amounts of coins, which would translate into huge losses.
Just another case showing us that exchanges should be used either for a quick trade, or you should put there the amount you are comfortable losing.

Cryptopia had became a dumping place of shit coins specially the mineable and POS once that people barely use. They were thinking of being a exchange for less used coins but traders and miners slowly started to realize that not every coin would get the a profit and moved towards the more popular options.

Good riddance though. If you have shitcoins in that exchanges, then definitely it's long gone.
I agree with @tsaroz, it's been a dumping ground for most shitcoins since 2017, although I have traded quite a few in past years, but I immediately get out of that exchanges, coz I know something is not right about their trading volumes.

Cryptopia was an exchange that many people participated in 2017 but after the attack of more than 15 million USD, this exchange was unable to control the situation and they declared bankruptcy. I think this will be a huge loss in the crypto community because many people are holding money here and they probably won't be able to get this money back in the future. Anyway, this is an exchange that I will keep in my memory because it helped me to earn a very high profit.

they have tried well, doing step by step treatments. but in the end if they leave forever, coin holders on their exchanges will be severely harmed. or they must provide clarification to the hodlers to withdraw coins from their exchanges even though they are called "shitcoin", at least so that their good name is maintained.

They have done everything just to save Cryptopia but it didn't work. They have done different remedies just to pursue it but they failed. The sad thing is some investments would really end up with nothing. We can't deny the fact that some exchanges might shut down anytime.

The interesting part is that they make use of a liquidator. I think this is a very bad sign for people who have their coins in cryptopia wallets. You wont be able to access this wallets anymore, cause they belong to cryptopia and may be used to cover funds from banks etc.

Well, I have a very small amount of couple of coins fortunately. But they should at least let the people withdraw what is left there.

Do y'all think some of these exchanges are behind some of these hacks, its going to be another hack most likely before the end of this year or next year.

I do not think cryptopia is gone entirely as their site even tells you that they are currently under maintenance and urge users not to panic as they will be back in less than no time. but in the long run all will be back to normal

i think cryptopia will be given time for every user that has a balance in their exchange to withdraw to their wallet

Hopefully so, I still left some funds in there, not very much though. But it is unfair if the exchange really doesn't give a chance for users to withdraw their assets.

Don't know what the better name to call this, an impressive problem solution or... a legal run. It seems, cryptopia itself is not able to recover the lost fund until today, and perhaps this is the best way or the fairest way to resolve the issue. Moreover, this can be a way for cryptopia to "wash their hands" and run, leave the investors far behind.

After hacking in January, the team tried to get out of the crisis. Possibly, the rising price of the BTC,ETH and other coins didn't allow them to succeed. This is an example of what you shouldn't trust and store your coins in exchanges wallets.

Well, it's good that they are out of business, they have been hacked two times, and we need not wait for the third time, which has a possibility to happen again, and besides there are more good exchange now in the market, far better than Cryptopia.
