Many people say we have to learn about the project, know who is the team behind it... Actually it's not really possible: first, because all these projects look amazing at the beginning, as they bring innovations and solutions for different areas;
Second, because we don't know the people who are running it. They show their curriculum, their deeds, it looks perfect, but the scam happens anyway.

I think icos are more about luck than anything else. It's a speculative investment, and you need to be lucky to invest on the right project. However now it's not being advisable to invest in icos anymore, as the ieos are coming and bringing more security to investors.

Many ICOs hard to reach their target because many investor trauma because too many scam ICOs in 2018. IEOs could be good alternative right now and its already booming right now. But many ICOs have good project and have potential in the future

I suggest choosing an ICO that has a project that is already running and has a clear owner and vision, and read the whitepaper

I believe when you talk about project that is already running, you mean a working product and good use case. For a clear owner, it's hard to know this as most projects hide the actual team and developers or use images of other persons. Also, reading the whitepaper is good but to me can't guarantee of a good project as most whitepaper are copied.

The developers team behing the project is important thing before we make investment. The team lead project goal, beside developers team, i think we should consider the project itself, if the project are real and backup by reputable company, i think that project worth to invest

and most importantly we must also be aware that everything in the crypto industry is very risky, there is no guarantee that they are fraudsters or not, the rest we must be careful before joining the ico project, I feel scammers are always around us.

I'm not really good in choosing the right ICO project to invest with cause it can be hard now to look for legit project today, might be consider this as a tough decision. We actually been trap for fake and scam projects that makes me hardly to think of.

These common checks are often very easy to fake and we should not depend on that to evaluate a project. Personally, I only believe in myself and only select top projects from the judgment of the big experts because they can know which projects are the most potential but in fact everything is big change since the IEO was released. I believe that with this change, you do not need to spend too much time choosing because if it is sold on a large exchang then the chances of earning a high profit will be better.

I have voted (Have experience but may not be sufficient to judge the ICO project). Because it requires crypto world here only with qualification as well. The last one year, my luck is very bad because I did not get success after i invested the project. I have seen a lot of strong projects but it could not capture any popular exchange.

I have done very few ICO investments in my life and I am not an expert in anyway or shape but I can tell you that all of my investments came out as something that is legit and never a scam. I have heard so many of my friends invest into scam projects that they lost insane amount of money.

Even nano (raiblock when I invested) which dropped insanely in its price is actually not a scam but just a failed project so I have invested in projects that made me money but invested in stuff that I lost but never invested into something that was a scam.

As long as you find that perfect spot of never investing into scam there is two options, either you are going to wait a lot for a coin to go above the ICO levels you invested or you are profiting and no matter which one you end up with there is a chance you profit in the long term as long as its not a scam.

IMO its all about the viability of the project's product versus future trends, from my previous experiences, these do change time to time. Starting from card wallets, energy trading, businesses utilities, ecosystems, and eventually securities. I personally pick projects that already have a product, a professional, non-mockup interfaces that can attract users and investors. Note that competition is fierce and the existing one would most like get their deals more easily than new projects. I would choose niche financial projects, rather than those aim to serve the worldwide ecosystem. Websites or any PR regarding their viability is not important anymore as these could be done fair well but there's no progress on development or business team.

Now, to find a good ico is a very difficult thing. Since mid-2018, I have never invested in Ico again because I was disappointed after the project was finished  the team didn't want to put their coin into exchange. So my advice is better we just stay away from ico investment and better we just stick with stable investment (top 5 in CMC).

I also don't have good instincts in this matter. however, I did this based on research such as team background, concepts to be carried out, roadmap, and of course the products produced. sometimes things like that will make us know the quality of a project. however, scam or not, I think it depends on the team in question.
