During the 2017 price spikes, I experience an extreme high fees in bitcoin and it was totally alarming. I couldn't keep up with it so I had to explore every other possible means of transactions to minimize this fees. I had to switch to ethereum and most of my transactions with it. Ethereum also once had such high fee but currently it has bungee worked on I guess.
When we talk of high fees, there is always a time this happens which is usually during congestion, and I also move to a reliable altcoins temporarily too till the network becomes free, but we should not be making if feel as if it is every time we experience high fees in Bitcoin the way the OP is making it look like.
Bitcoin transaction is still not that bad even in a congested network compared to other fees we get and I will still prefer to rely more on using Bitcoin for payment except the high fee that is too outrageous which I don’t think any fee charge for BC transaction has ever been over outrageous..
