Surprise, surprise right? I was so tempted to bet on a handicap on Bolivia but the odds were so shit even with +1 (5/1 or something) I looked away. Glad I did. I threw in a couple of upsets in this first round of matches but I'm still not sure.

Betting wise though, I'm going for a Venezuela+Argentina parlay. Them Peruvians are playing nice football, and actually so are the Colombians, but you know, Messi. 7/1 good?

It's halftime already between Venezuela and Peru, the score remains goalless as either team is yet to find the back of the net.

The match has not been a total boring game, both teams have had their fair chances and hopefully the 2nd 45 minutes will bring about some goal. Still rooting for Venezuela to steal the win, though.

I forgot to put the predictions on 14th June games so I start with a bit of handicap but I will not lose a single game now, I will put daily my predictions for the games. So far not really good games but it is just the beginning of the tournament, will get better in next games.

Game 1 is going to end with a 0 - 2 defeat for Argentina, a typical Argentina team we've always seen in recent years always lacking the cutting edge, the first was an absolute disappointment, No shot on goal from either side. Columbia however finally took the lead almost midway into the 2nd half and doubled their late with about 4 minutes left to play.

Can Argentina bounce back from this early defeat ? or is this going to be another disappointing tournament ?

Brazil won the game easily thanks to Coutinho scoring goals in the absense of Neymar, whose presence was missed as I felt Brazil struggled for long periods of the game. @LFC_Bitcoin congratulations on winning your bet with the exact score, it’s difficult to win with the exact score you’re very lucky.

I doubt they will be able to bounce back and keep up in this Copa season. They are a broken team, was not able to play better today as well. Evaluating their performance, I would exclude them from trophy winner list.

I didn't watch the match because of the time difference but after checking statistics a bit and looking at Colombia squad I think Colombia will come very far in this tournament. I have also predicted an Argentina win but it seems we heavily underestimated Colombia. They have a great team and player like D. Zapata who had an outstanding season in Italy was only given 10 minutes in the game.

Damn me, I changed my Draw prediction to a Peru win, and then I knew I should listen to the statistics of Messi being good for Barcelona but shit for Argentina. Shame on me for trying to outfox myself haha. @Pamoldar Messi carried the entire team in the last World Cup, they qualified by the tiniest margins too if I remember, his hattrick in the last qualifiying game. It's incredible how far international teams get because of Messi and Ronaldo... but they don't play together often enough for the players to really gel.

Those who locked picks probably saw I'm doing another risky upset prediction today.

You can hope for a better luck today, There are about 3 of us as the join lowest point scorers. but think can change so rapidly.

With Argentina losing their first game, I think Qatar's chances of qualifying is at stake now, unless they can come up with a win against Paraguay today, because Argentina will need to win their two remaining games now to stand a better chance to qualify.

I can't say that Argentina played bad in second half. Colombia had only few dangerous moments and managed to score 2 goals.

Despite this loss, I don't think that Argentina will struggle to qualify. Their remaining opponents Paraguay and Qatar are weaker on the paper. And also, in worst case scenario they can quslify to the next round as best third placed team.

Spotty internet so I missed first 15 mins. My take so far, the pitch is something Qatar don't seem to be doing too well with, ball seems stuck from midfield, but when it does get to the front men, they got Paraguay on the ropes for sure. That shot from Aziz... keeper didn't know what hit him it was a brilliant lob really. And then that save a couple of minutes from HT.

Two bad refereeing calls against Qatar too, the freekick from edge of penalty which was a beauty of a tackle, and then Paraguay got away without a card for an elbow body check? Damn.

Definitely far from over.

Edit: Eventful 2nd half! Paraguay goal disallowed after VAR offside, but they scored a beautiful goal anyway... and now Almoez just pulled one back with an even more beautiful goal... 2-1. It ain't over!
