I consider this industries are the pioneers they know that they mustn't miss the blockchain age, because they are sure it will bring earthshaking changes to every aspect in human life. i think you are mistaking by stating that "they merely hyping the technology".

It seems right, it is not hyping the technology cause that it the market adoption and everyone wants to make blockchain technology as a part of their life.
It is amazing how it works and it gives a place that everyone are giving a chance not only for the purpose to provide a better service but also giving an opportunity to become profitable.

Of course I do, in fact it is already empowering the future with the result being that most platforms are now adopting cryptocurrency into their platform. I don't think that they are hyping the technology, I mean it could really change the landscape of every industry of today, lots of them, pharmaceuticals, logistics and supply chain, private and public industries are at awe at what can it can bring to the table. Everything that plays data every day and make decisions based on it will have to used blockchain technology to harness it's power. Even countries like China and the US, two countries who are at the forefront and fighting it out as to who will have more patents files based on blockchain.

This blockchain technology actually have so much benefits in different fields and not just cryptocurrency. TBH, Cryptocurrency is actually just a tip of an iceberg to what the blockchain system could do. I've seen article discussing about this in the past and blockchain could be used in the field of medical, remmitances, governance and many more. It's not just a hyped technology but it's a really beneficial technology.
