At a point the team start given excuses to abide by what they promised to do or stop communicating with the community then I can sense the project is scam. How do you determine a project is gone bad and won't fulfil it promise? What criteria do you use ? or you wait for years thinking all will be well ?

When they are not transparent and keep changing their rules, of course, they have stipulated that they can change the rules anytime, but not to the point that the investors' and bounty hunters money and effort will go to waste, like what happens to IRONX,Likerworld and Dexage, they keep changing the rules to punish bounty hunters and traders.

I personally have my own standard in determining whether the project is a scam or not.
The main sign if the project will be a scam is they do not update the progress of their current project

The right way to avoid scam is to know how to determine it... Maybe this will help...
-If a company website, whitepaper, or project descriptions are also full of nothing more than fluff, buzzwords, and portray a lack of substance, this is a clear warning sign that all may not be as it seems.
-Another classic warning sign that an ICO may not be everything it promises is also a return on investment (ROI) which seems too good to be true.
-If the blockchain startup has no links to samples or code uploaded to repositories such as GitHub, this may be an indicator that there is no blockchain development to start with.
-If you can't find any public records of individuals linked to an ICO that could, realistically, help develop a valuable blockchain product, they may simply be scammers looking to make a quick buck.
And yet, still the best way is to do research carefully regarding the project..

Actually it is very easy if we want to be careful in paying attention to every phase that the development team does. One sign that a project is scam then we can see from the promise of the development team that is not realized. This promise for example giving a bonus early, working on each timeline in a timely manner, and making weekly stake updates regularly. If this simple thing is not fulfilled, then we must be suspicious. As a responsible development team, it is appropriate to do everything in accordance with the plan and promise. That's a small thing in my view.

Usually I have to known that project is scam or not, I always view in the chat of their telegram group. If the group many respons and discussion about this project, I think that project will be good. And if you just meet the chat with only introduce like hello, hi etc. You will know that. This is one of many factor. More important, always check the completeness and clear purpose in whitepaper and their roadmap project.

One of the key things to look out for is inability to implement structures based on the white paper. Another key indication is when unnecessary excuses are continuously being made. Inactivity of the forum can also be a good pointer.

I am guided primarily by fulfilled promises. If the project follows its roadmap without any problems, without delay and fraud, then the project can be trusted.

Most of the things You mentioned here are all the signs that a project is a scam project, it now depends on the level of patient that will make the participant accept it finally. For me, the moment I even see that the team is not transparent about their identity and if something looks fishy about their linked in page, then I just see them and a scam project which I avoid like plague.

I think the easiest way to know is when the project team stops communicating, but by that time, it would have been too late, investors would have dropped their money while hunter would have promoted the coin for long. We have to make sure it doesn’t get to that stage before discerning them by researching on them.

When there is something wrong in that project, such as no milestone achievements, or too many delays.
At this point, im afraid to continue holding the the token. Better to sell it and change my investment.

I realized when the project was completed and the team had no clarity on which exchange, when was the roadmap, when there was a development. if some of these things you never get, the project is a scam and should be avoided.

If the team was gone and delete their telegram. No update from official Socmed like Facebook or Twitter, not giving us community the progress about the project.
Not answer questions from community etc.

I see from the work of the team that began to stop providing information, And the worst thing on social media is that it cannot be accessed again, one of the characteristics of the project is to show fraud..

You can look at their github repository. If no new changes occurred within the past 2 months, the team is probably preparing for an exit scam. Also you can check random paragraphs in the net to check if the owner is legit and is not plagiarizing.

Usually it's too late, yes. When they stop communication the translations are already ready, social media campaigns are already running and people are already waiting to receive their first payments. It's very frustrating because there are many people working and they receive nothing for that.
It takes time to advertise and especially to make translations, it's a total lack of respect from these irresponsible developers.

If there are no more updates and informations it is for me a clear sign of scam or fraud. Also when the project team is promising many things and nothing happened.

Their telegram was abandoned by the team and admin.
They are not answering any query on their page.
They just send all the tokens and leave the project alone.

Actually there are a lot of signs they are becoming a scam, seen when their team starts rarely active, does not provide clarity on the future of their project, rarely responds to investor questions at ANN Thread, most of that signs are visible when the end of the time of ICO

There are many factors which depict that a project is scam -

1) Their telegram gets abandoned or the admins leave the group
2) their websie stops working and the server goes down
3) The coins/tokens get transferered form the projects' address to an exchange to dump everything
4) They stop posting on their social media and stop goiving more updates.
5) Your questions do not get answered by the admins
6) BitcoinTalk stops getting replies and stops getting updated.

and much more, bsaically the team does not considers the project and do not work more , most probably the project dies.
If you try to talk to the team in linkedin then they do not reply your messages.

Its quite difficult to realise a crypto project which is a scam or fraud however, there are some signs to pinpoint whether the project is scam. These are the inactiveness of the project and no progress of the project.
