This should be mostly user generated list, bacause I have no time to browse the whole forum constantly.
I'm sure there's gonna be a lot of spam as well but I want to do a self-moderated thread to keep away the spammers.
Where is the drama A.K.A “weekly DT abuse” section?
I came for the technology, stayed for the drama.
But seriously, I support this. I don’t have as much time as I had back in the old days and I’ll be considerably busy this year, so that would really help me a lot (I like to stay tuned to what is happening, which is something I like about Reddit).
If you want drama, no problem we have plenty material already, but the post will be quite long then
A weekly two-line summary of the developments in the Wall Observer thread would be nice too, it has interesting posts but too much to read everything.
Then someone should report this as I barely look into it, full of jokes and fun but it's hard to find any valuable info there..
And I'm not sure which board would be most appropriate board for this newsletter.
Beginners & Help, why not? Ignoring the name of the board, and looking at the main targets of the newsletter, is to give weekly update on all interesting topics/ serious things happen in the forum.
The newsletter is definitely for all users, but there are reasons why I think we should publish it in B&H board.
- High rank users can more easily find what they need (mainly because they know where to find it, and have enough skills to effectively find what they need);
- High rank users don't care to visit B&H if there is a topic that they are interested in;
- Beginners & newbies actually have bigger demands on such newsletter and weekly updates on important stuffs;
- Self-moderation is available in this board.
Consequently, I believe that Beginners & Help is a good place for the newsletter.
Suggested local rules:- Spam posts will be deleted by OP without notifications.
- Readers should support OP by reporting any spam post they see in the topic to moderators
I was thinking about it too, I have a few other options.
Reputation- is full of different data so it's kind of OK there, and we have also the Off-topic section, bit there the thread won't be very popular and all the post "bots" will join and make quite a lot of work to clean the thread.
Topics usually lose their importance over time, so even if there is an important topic for everyone, it may end within a week.
I suggest that someone create an infographic that facilitates many topics in one place.
I wish there would be Bitcointalk Crossword Puzzle for some fun.
That would be great but I don's see who is going to do it. It's much more work than just copy and add to the OP.
