I realize this forum is no longer being developed, so my suggestion will probably be ignored, but I just wanted to put it out there...

How about a cool off period when leaving negative feedback?

Since a lot of feedback is left in the heat of the moment, I would suggest new negative feedback from DT members be "queued" to be verified again by the profile an amount of time later.  It certainly would contain sudden uprising of drama response and counter response and counter counter response.

You would have to explicitly have to make two choices at different times to apply the feedback.

Would lead to more people getting scammed during the time the feedback isn't visible, and in any case it would only delay the inevitable drama rather than reduce or eliminate it.

I tried to think of some better examples (DT to DT, or DT to Legendary) but you are right - a hacked account could do a lot of damage in that time...

I don't like the "heat of the moment" thing, and if I could choose, I would always choose to show the feedback instantly. It would be much better to stop caring what someone on the internet thinks about you, unless it's someone who's opinion you value.

If your feedback would be different after a "cool off period", you shouldn't have left it in the first place. I don't think any of the feedback I left would be different if I waited a few days, and I think that's how the system is supposed to be used.

I've also left some "time sensitive" scammer tags, mainly on accounts waiting to be Nuked. A delay in showing the tag would make it pointless.

Alternative that doesn't require theymos to make changes: Post-its Cheesy

On a more serious note: I'd love to see less DT-drama. I remember the words burrying the hatchet, de-escalation and forgiveness coming from theymos.

OK, it was a stupid, selfish suggestion.  I thought of it a while ago when I was so easily angered by trolls.  Sad
