Some countries have already run trials, it is a delicate subject and blockchain technology as any other new technology must be tested and since voting doesn't happen that often, I believe it will take some time before we see it as a reality. Check these articles about the trial in Switzerland and the plans in Japan to do so:

In practice, the main issue will be the proof of identity, because even when the national id number can be use to identify the voter in the blockchain, there is no guarantee it will be used by the real citizen. If polls happen in a typical way, going to a physical place, then a standard procedure may be used to id a person, representative will check the official valid ID and then the voter can scan it in a device and vote on a screen instead of paper; if the polls are run on devices, such as personal computers or smartphones, some sort of biometrics recognition system must be used.

And then there is the politicians will... I believe all of them cheat, so, to authorize this technology is like shooting in their own foot.

Voting on devices like smartphones or computers will raise a lot of questions and the elections' integrity. Blockchain is very useful but people will still prefer to see themselves vote physically there with the officials ensuring they are real people listed in the designated precinct. In my country, people still don't trust automated elections entirely so I'm sure that blockchain system will sort that out.

As i know no, there is not any country who use blockchain for voting, maybe only if governments will see how blockchain works will make this possible on future if they want.

Based on what I read here in the forum, blockchain could be a good system for voting though it wasn't tested yet and proven to have work properly if we use it in voting. But I doubt it if the government will recommend bitcoin to be used in voting since most people in the government is against blockchain.

That is a breakthrough, if there is a country implementing a general election or presidential election with a blockchain system, that is a very good innovation. I think the budget or financial expenditure of a country will be more economical. I had heard that Estonia had implemented it (online voting). Large populated countries, such as Indonesia, deserve to implement a blockchain-based online voting system.

Does any country use blockchain for election or voting? I know there are many countries who afraid of implementing blockchain into its sytem because then everything will be clear. If voting systems are created on the basis of blockchain technologies, then it is possible and possible to obtain reliable voting results without falsification. All the same, the blockchain is precisely created so that it cannot be changed from the outside, and in order to ensure complete security and confidentiality of data. It would be interesting to participate in the elections via the online voting platform.

Using a Decentralized Voting system might show a transparent yet safe way of voting. Present technologies on third world countries like their voting systems might lead to Corruption. Voting systems should be at least one of the most high-end technology in a country and should have the best quality of components that is used. Machines in some countries are easily broken and manipulated due to corrupt politicians that wants to win so bad. Having a Decentralized System can help us keep track of every voting that has happened and the security of this systems are very high.

You can still physically go there. You can have a voting machine like a btc ATM but for voting. I also agree doing it from any location online might not work. People will prefer to do it in person. Also in person it is under suraliance and offials are around. Also the vote will be done through an official machine not just anyones phone.

Nope. That's why in my country, you already won't expect for a clean election and voting. They will still win the election even though they already have bad records. Using blockchain is definitely a great thing but my country is slow when it comes to advancement of technology.

in the future the blockchain could really be an excellent economic solution for voting. it would also be very safe and fast, there are many obstacles, such as the previous generation that is not very familiar with technology. but with some modifications it could really be the best solution

Because it is a new technology, the chances of being used at the national level, such as in an election of a country, are low. If it is used it will be at a lower level, as in an election at a university and so on.

I think no company has tried to use Blockchain technology in their vote counting machines. It woukd be a nice project however, imagine that it will be used only if there are elections and elections dont happen every year or every other year so I guess they would rather stick to what they have right now.
Definitely not. But the issue in the elections of fake accounts is generated a lot with the information provided by ico houses. blockchan has not yet found an election, but using blockchan to manipulate elections will be available. because they bought user information and mail from ico projects

At the moment there is no ( as far as I know) countries who have implemented any electronic elections so far, because of the security fears.
Block-chain could be a solution but first it should be implemented in private sectors.

The idea is not bad, but i believe that we are far from seeing real world elections based on blockchain . If done properly, this could be a major win because it will also allow faster elections and maybe open doors to more referendums ecasue they would be a lot cheapaer and easier to make.

The Philippines is a leader in using the Blockchain platform to vote. Using the Blockchain platform restricts fraudulent censorship checks, and everyone in the country can check the number of votes they have chosen. Blockchain reduces censorship time and votes statistics for each participant. Many countries will use Blockchain to vote.
There are lots of people manipulating and tampering votes in the Philippines. Blockchain technology will be great to stop these things from happening. All the votes will be recorded and all people can see its results, no one can manipulate and tamper the results but, this will also be the reason why the government will not allow it. The people in the government here in the Philippines wants to control the voting system in order to get into the position they wanted, and with the blockchain technology, they will not be able to do that. That is why I think, it will not be implemented here. If ever it will, that person really wants a change in this country.

They need it in like African countries. People say ya but it will cost too much, not really. It is much cheaper than having to set up voting areas and pay for the pages required for each voter then still deliver and count them. Afterwards, you are left with a whole bunch of useless paper. It only gets used once. If we do it digitally this problem is solved and thus the price goes down too. No need to count manually so this saves much manpower and even more money. Not to talk about the security the blockchain provides us.

I haven't heard any country applying blockchain for elections. Maybe the lack of knowledge with the technology is the primary reason. I think it would be cool, though, if it would be put into application. However, it should be independent from corrupt officials. I mean, it should be put into good use for the betterment of all.

I think the government distrust the blockchain's usage since there are still fraud in election that they are keep doing it like it was fixed. The cost is not a deal since there are funds for elections and I think the commission should make the best out of the money but I think they are just buying cheap election materials for them to keep some funds and the fixing will not be exposed. I hope some greater countries implement it so there will be no choice for some corrupt government officials to fix the election again.

As it is a new and complicated technology, countries are not even thinking about it yet. But in small projects, which is a start for greater usability, the blockchain is already used as a form of voting.

of course it will be better, but the popularity of BTC for record every important event is still low.  and I did not find a country that uses blockchain for voting.
and at least we have to use two blockchain.  the first blockchain to record election participant data, and the second blockchain to record the results of the election.  we see that the blockchain has also been used to record the Panmunjom declaration agreement.

not only for voting, blockchain has great benefits for government order, the blockchain can minimize corruption, crime, and is very good for the state security department.  It seems like Japan has used the blockchain to vote.

I dont think there are any countries which are even coming close to using blockchain technology 100% to cast their votes. They just dont trust it to risk their own counties political landscape as of yet.
Maybe Japan as someone mentioned they were doing trial runs. But that is what those are just trial runs and not the real thing yet. Maybe for small municipalities at first but not for a major countries election for a presidential government official.

When its about politics, i think everything getting harder. Blockchain technology should can be solution because its very secure and hard to hack, but most politician always make thing become complicated
