it already smells like some kind of dependence on cryptocurrency and trading.  As for me, this is really a profitable topic.  but you are also right very often and you can lose a lot in this game. I you stopped your trading activities then you are not going to recover your losses,you are just conservative from further losses but as real trader these losses are just common so continue to concentrate on crypto trading then keep making more profits will actually nullifies your current loss.

well it really hard to trade when im still trading i loss a lot of time in some trade
sometime you need to accept it and look for better opportunity
trading give a lot of stress when you lose some money but it also fun when you gain some profit

I haven't lost during trading too much but I lost during the holding periods. For example I had a decent chunk of money during the 2017 peak and sold all my coins close to the all time high which was the best thing I have ever done in my life, after that I earned and got some more bitcoins during the bear market until summer as well and then the price started to drop, so from last years June to almost couple months ago I worked and earned and got bitcoins but since it went down in price I lost money from it.

It wasn't trading but it was still a huge loss since I didn't do anything to lose money, I was just holding my bitcoins doing nothing and just gathering more bitcoins yet even though I had more bitcoins I lost more dollars every week. Unfortunately I had some bad things and had to sell all my coins which meant I lost money and couldn't even recover.

I've been thinking about leaving cryptocurrency all 2018 and I had no interest in cryptoindustry. But I stayed and just watched the cryptocurrency. I ended up making a good profit now.

This was happen me and i think we should thinking about building strategy. I am believe when people trading, they had losses experience and with that losses we knew our mistake and build new trading strategy

That has gone way past dependence and into addiction territory my friend,,, if you are really a friend it is time to tell him that you and others should intervene. Trading is not as easy and profitable as everyone claims. Get this into his head and make him accept it.

And then show him what the money can also buy. Good memories, experiences,,, buy a few crypto and forget about it and enjoy life.

taking brake when made loss is good just dont do trading with that lost mind chill for some days observe for some days and start trading again

I loss big in trading by investing in the wrong coin, but am just buying low price coin now and hoping I hit big on them. I bought some BOMBs and sold too quickly and all of a sudden it shot up to $10 per coin. I will hit soon. Still buying low price coins.

If you have to stop, just try to at least hold the coins you see that is still keeping the price and development going. Stop trading will be a wise decision because there is no assurance yet where the market is going. It could actually go below $5k this time if they really will push those holders to sell.

It's up to you on your tactic, however I consider crypto trading a brilliant way to make money. You lose on trades on a regular basis, this sort of experience would be extremely frustrating. A break may fulfill your lost enthusiasm. I do practice the same wahy as I had some awful history!
