(GUIDE) How to easy change the appearance of Bitcointalk to dark (Dark Theme)?

I just found how to change in a very simple way the appearance of Bitcointalk to the "Dark Theme".

I was looking for a way to do it for a long time, and even found tutorials, but scripts and quite advanced knowledge with additional programs were always needed.

Today, I accidentally came across a few of these threads about Dark Theme and in one posts, I read about a plugin, which is called STYLISH.

Literally, with just one click, one can change the look of each web page and there are a variety of themes to choose from.

As you can see, the Bitcointalk forum looks much better and reads better (at least for me).

What's more interesting, when one is writing a post or edit something, the text is yellow, which makes writing very easy and does not strain your eyes.



Here's how the post summary looks like, it is much more transparent and much better to read.



On the above screen, you can see how it looks like to write a new or edit an old post. These yellow letters are much more visible and don't make eyes tired after a few hours of reading. In my opinion, the posts are better visible and easy to read. In addition, there are several types of dark backgrounds and you can choose the one that suits you the best.



STYLISH - plugin for Chrome is simply great and very easy to use.

There are so many themes in STYLISH that you don't need to share URLs with the service for more, in the main settings, after the first download, deselect this function.

Uncheck this box after installing and starting for the first time!!! Don't lose your privacy if there is no need to.

I tried both settings and there is almost no difference. This is just a hook that gives STYLISH creators more ways to monetize on this plugin.

The themes are the same and there are a lot of them, I even think that the smaller choice is better. If there are too many themes, I scroll too long and I can not choose one. I thought it was worth adding.

In the end, once again look at the appearance of appearance, when it is changed to a dark color. In my opinion, it is much more transparent and does not strain your eyes. I think I'm starting to repeat, so it's definitely time to end.

I already mentioned that if you use Stylish, disable the collecting of data after the first download in the installation menu (there will be a popup), but I found that there are even more settings in the extension settings tab. I made a screen to make it as clear as possible. Please unselect these two settings to fully stop URL sharing.

I have read all of them and this is how I found this addon STYLISH.

There was no additional info about STYLISH, so I thought it would be good to share because I have been looking for some time on how to do this, with not too much headache and maybe there are members interested in an easy way to set up the dark theme.

I think Stylish is the best way to get any page you want to look like you wish with a single click.

I also had to get used to it after so many years with the default theme.

In my case, I am writing and reading a lot at night and the dark theme is a lot less tiring for eyes.

Sorry for multiposting but this is important info and should be easily visible.

As we know there are problems in Stylish addon which, I described in this article and despite, there is an option to stop links sharing fully, I don't like it.

I decided, to share here a fork of Stylish, which is called Stylus is open source and don't spy our links at all. The themes are almost this same because both addons use this same database.

Not exploring the STYLISH plugins yet but how to modify the font colors?

I like the dark theme but the font color on the provided screenshots seems hurting my eyes for I don't know what's the reason lol.

Find the one you want and install it. After that, go to BitcoinTalk, click on the extension icon next to your URL and click "Edit" on the installed theme. It will open an page with the CSS code of the theme. Just change the color hex to the one you want.

IMO, I don't like dark theme in the reading sites like forum.

Light colors with dark background can cause halation effect in our eyes especially for those who have astigmatism. Dark theme is being used in minimal texts only or for social media platforms. But for educational or reading purposes, It will just strain your eyes because the fonts are washed when it's light. (the halation effect thingy)

Well, It's just my opinion I hope this helps to those who are attracted to change the theme. Still, I like the color, I just don't want the effect in our body.

My eyes sometimes, pinch and tear after long session especially in the night on bright pages.

Everyone is different, it's obvious.

Nope, I need light when working at night. It's just my opinion and I know we have different cases. Do you have astigmatism? most of the people have it.

Adjusting the contrast is my solution than making it into dark theme.

After update to Windows 10 (not wanted, forced  ) my contrast doesn't work anymore. This is a common problem of this laptop after the update and no solution from 2 years.

And this one is my internet things laptop which I use only to browse the web. Nothing important on it when get hacked.

Anyways, a dark theme is the only option in my case.

That is why I was so happy with Stylish. Literally, with a click of a button super dark theme and many more others to choose.

This is very strange because I don't think that Reddit and especially Imgur block their potential customers.

Maybe you live in a country with restrictions on internet use? Maybe try to use VPN or Proxy if this is the case.

I will advise to this as soon as possible because only a small percentage of members reads your local board.

This is the reason why nobody knows about your theme, despite it is really nice and looks good when browsing the forum.

• Select fonts (without editing its CSS code)
• Choose text stroke (not referring to its font size)

- I'll switch ^{[from "Dark reader"]} if it has those abilities...
