maybe write some factually sourced material next time. not the speculative 'too da moon' stuff and the blanket stories that are just copy and pastes from other media.
if these media sites actually not only used the quote of other media, but actually found the original source and investigated the legitimacy. then people would actually enjoy reading stories from them. and as such not become reliant on google to drag in new readers by googles search engine.
as for the 'blame google' the stats graph show an up shoot to 1.2 where 1.2 only hit once.. and then retreated back down to the 0.6 average. yet ccn wants to cry that it dropped to 0.6 as if 1.2 was the norm
"As data from SEO analyzer Sistrix shows, our visibility on Google dropped from 1.2 to less than 0.6. You might say we ought not to face any issues since we’ve been at those levels and lower, in the past. What you need to realize is that
we have added more people to the team, both full-timers and part-timers. We do not want to downsize the team, we do not want to break the morale of the team. So yes, this change by Google is directly having a significant impact on us as a small independent news organization that has never received any outside funding.
The money we make made on advertisements was directly funneled back into growing the team"
P.S
"funneled" ..funnelled
in short. they had one good day in june, employed some people then realised their stats went back to normal averages.
so instead of blaming spending income to 'add more people'.. 'grow the team' they want to blame google
so forget media.. this is a tip for business. if you cant fund an employee for a year, you shouldn't be hiring.
offering a full time job, but not guaranteeing their income is bad business practice
anyways
take a look how long it sat at 1.2 for. then look at the whole year and look at the average
pro tips:
improve content
include valid sources
exclude speculative stories
increase content that matters
