No, it won't destroy or replace other coins.
Facebook is a data mining company. Their interest in crypto is as a means to harvest yet more data to use for behavioural profiling (and modification) and to sell on to third parties for advertising and further profiling.
Facebook is a plague, and the antithesis of privacy. Avoid at all costs.

What if the world's largest exchanges claimed not to support Libra on their platform? Libra may be the upgrade platform of all the powerful platforms currently in place, but if whales resist it, it is unlikely to grow. Libra's development depends on whales.

Here
To drive widespread adoption, Libra is designed to be a currency where any user will know that the value of a Libra today will be close to its value tomorrow and in the future. The reserve is the key mechanism for achieving value preservation. Through the reserve, each coin is fully backed with a set of stable and liquid assets. With the presence of a competitive group of liquidity providers that interface with the reserve, users can have confidence that any coin they hold can be sold for fiat currency at a narrow spread above or below the value of the underlying assets. This gives the coin intrinsic value from the start and helps protect against the speculative swings that are experienced by existing cryptocurrencies.
There's no speculation in Libra. So, it would not compete with the said coins.
Essentially a stable coin, value adjusted according to the underlying asset which are a mostly bags of government issued garbage such as bonds, treasury bills...it is in no way near the above mentioned in a free market.I suppose they will focus on payments systems only

no because most of the altcoins you named here like ETH and XRP are already dead so there is nothing left to kill. they are going to continue to exist however and get pumped and dumped because that is their whole purpose.
Libra on the other hand will continue to grow only because it has a big company behind it with billions to spend on it and to advertise their stable coin. but it still won't be able to compete with anything that is decentralized.

If you ask me I will never trust Libra in the long term.. too much-centralized power. I mean if I had to choose a currency controlled by a central authority why not stick to fiat currency and trade in forex?? And did you read their whitepaper? they can overturn some delegated decisions. I'm not being part of that crap.

If paypal is partnering with them Libra might not be used for gambling, that's ain't the selling point of real coin. And I read this in a related facebook coin thread that Libra may probably be reversible just like paypal. That's yet not a confirmed information but I got that hunch too. These points may not be a characteristic of a coin that will kill ETH, EOS and TRON. These 3 are in the major success in the making and Libra is just one that will compete these 3.

I am sure that they can still survive by their own unique strategy and marketing techniques as the team behind that big projects are more seasoned compare to the coming Libra coin by Facebook.
Even if Facebook is very popular right now, there is a big chance that they cannot do more in crypto industry especially that they are going to comply most of the papers by different countries unlike the current crypto currencies right now that has given us the freedom in crypto world without asking for documents.

It possible Libra to take down the most 2-10 altcoins. Because Facebook is very popular in the all country.
popular doesn't mean good and safe right ? so, thats not a reasonable reason for libra to take down the old and great crypto project such as Ethereum my friend

There are some things about libras whitepaper that really annoy me. For example, they state very clearly that they will work within the existing institutions. Basically, they will be fully centralized. Annoying, but not surprising from something like facebook.
Also, when you take a step back and look at it, it is basically just paypal with blockchain attached to it. It doesn't seem to do anything that paypal already does. It doesn't even take full advatange of what blockchain can do.
So actually, I see traditional payment methods as its biggest competition, not eth, ripple, eos, etc. And in that scope, actually, I don't think it can compete. Even big companies like google have had failed product launches you know.

The proposed facebook coin is a stable coin, the coins you referred to has different use case from the proposed libra coin, ripple is used by bank, ethereum is smart contract for virtually all tokens. Libra is not their killer in any way.

Very big excitement around Libra, at the moment it is difficult to make any predictions about how this coin will show itself. (ETH, TRX, Ripple, EOS) these coins have worked well in the cryptocurrency market and the developers are constantly working to improve their product. I do not think that Libra can create strong competition to the above coins, and certainly not at the initial stage.

All projects are good, you would still from the TOP 100 took all the projects and said that they all kill each other,or each other's enemies! There is no more successful projects, the more successful the market itself, and of course the most important thing is to buy different projects and not one, since how many times it was that take one project, and then he babah and the bottom, and all the investments cat under the smark

All this coins I listed will now get real competition. A company that does a promotion and buys off competition. Bitcoin and Monero dont do that. So so far Tron, XRP and co had no fear. Now they should be afraid.

Libra will be direct competitor to usdt, tusd, usdc, gemini dollar and other fiat backed stablecoins so the companies behind all these stablecoins could be in stress due to libra but as far as real cryptocurrencies like ethereum are concerned they got no competition will libra rather they will get the boost as new money will move to crypto from large fb userbase.
