then what makes you so sure about this project? but I personally don't think that this is IMMEDIATELY, while Bitcoin is very decentralized and Lybra is more focused on finance.
so I think this is just about developing the adoption of blockchain technology in the future and cannot be compared to the investment aspects of the value of bitcoin. because bitcoin has been around for a long time and will remain the cryptoqurrency market leader.

How is it safe? First it doesn't exist yet. Second, for a blockchain to be safe it has to be decentralized (at least to a certain degree) and have a huge hash power plugged into it preferably from different entities that don't collude together. If Facebook is going to provide the hashpower for that blockchain, what happens if/when one day they decide to pull the plug? We have seen companies as big as Facebook rise and fall, so it may happen.

Just a reminder, Bitcoin (and its blockchain) is not dependent on any single company and that's what makes it safe and valuable. Moreover, it has been around for 10 years and has already proven its reliability.

It is really silly comparing a future centralized questionable coin with bitcoin.

It would be a big mistake to compare Bitcoin with a crypto currency released by Facebook. Note that Bitcoin is decentralized. Facebook is completely centralized!

This is exactly what Mark wants the general public to think. He wants them to think that he has created a more safer bitcoin when actually what he just did isn't any difference from PayPal maybe they should have called the Libra project PayPal 2.0 that way the message would had been clearer. The two projects (Libra and bitcoin) has different market target and shouldn't be compared with each other instead Libra is a threat to other stablecoins as those interested in privacy and decentralized will still choose bitcoin over Libra.

Cheers! Libra is made of cooperation's who are currently controlling the electronic payment systems + others with already large social impact.
Most notable are VISA and PayPal who are protecting their positions with this project. Libra seems to use block-chain only to drive attention, tit will be backed by fiat and will be stable currency. In addition as far as I understand there will be no decentralization what so ever.

Guys, stop spreading the fomo about Libra before researching what it actually is.

Both very very early to compare them and also not even needed. I mean if you want to compare them both on strength and how successful they will be then it is very early since libra is not even out yet but only the idea and the project is out, its like comparing it to 2008 bitcoin and even that is not properly compared since bitcoin was the first one to exist in cryptocurrency and created this whole market whereas libra is coming to an already decade old crypto world.

On the other hand you do not even have to compared them both because bitcoin is bitcoin and it has a cryptocurrency support behind it whereas libra is facebook coin which makes it centralized at the very least and there is probably a lot more differences as well, that is why I honestly think that there is no comparison between them.

And there's nothing to worry about that consider about libra is much more focussed to be an alternative payment system.
But not so many countries are liking libra too. It will come next years.

It's too early to make a comparative opinion between Libra and Bitcoin. Both have far differences.

If I try to make a comparison between BTC and what Facebook say they are offering, then I can't really see many similarities. They both use blockchain, but really that's about it. I think there is zero chance of Facebook's coin replacing bitcoin.

I agree, it is not balanced compared to Libra coin with bitcoin. Bitcoin is decentralized cryptocurrency that is supported by miners and also communities without fundraising or ICO. While Libra Coin is supported by large companies and collects funds from investors. I'm sure in the end bitcoin is the winner
