Absolutely incomparable things, Bitcoin is always in our hearts, and Libra is just another stable coin.

libra and bitcoin is different.. you cannot compare them as they have different use case .. libra is known just because of the famous mark zuckerberg and facebook.. while bitcoin was release 10 yrs ago and the number 1 crypto /digital asset in the market..you cannot compare a newbie to a legend  Grin

Its definitely too early to compare Libra with bitcoin. Bitcoin is already existing while Libra is just starting and no one knows what the project will deliver. I think we should wait for the full launch of Libra coin and then we can start comparing it with all sort existing Cryptos.

It is not about being too early to make comparison between Libra and Bitcoin, but the main point is that both of them should not be compared to each. You say they are built on blockchain so Libra is as safe as Bitcoin, reality is that Blockchain is transparent and so is Bitcoin, but Libra won't be, because it will be a closed source project.

yes it's still early, especially the Lybra is still young and hasn't even been launched. But my prediction of Lybra coins will affect the crypto market. but can't compare with bitcoin, bitcoin is still the top and can't compare with any altcoin including Lybra

Yeah! No matter how huge Libra is and how powerful the team behind it are, it will still be another altcoin, Bitcoin will surely remain the king of cryptocurrency!

will you compare apples with oranges?

then you shouldn't compare Libra with bitcoin either. instead you should compare Libra with Paypal and Visa and all the similar payment processors because those are in the same category as this token.
Properly explained. There's no point of comparing a centralized shit with bitcoin which is totally decentralized and no one have control over it. In fact, bitcoin has gained the popularity because of its decentralized nature. I don't think people will be mostly interested in a centralised shit.

When Libra appears, we will start comparing it with something, even Bitcoin. I do not see any sense to make these comparisons now. Moreover, it may happen that Facebook will say they decided to refuse the idea of launching Libra.

why people comparing libra with bitcoin? don't you know bitcoin yet? libra is just a start up and new project.. We don't know yet what it can do.. and also some blockchain enthusiast says that Libra is the most expensive failure

Libra is a simple global currency and financial infrastructure that empowers billions of people. Libra consists of three parts that will work together to create a more inclusive financial system:
1. It is built on a blockchain that is safe, measurable, and reliable.
2. This is supported by asset reserves designed to provide intrinsic value.
3. This is regulated by an independent Libra Association which is tasked with developing ecosystems.

Are you aware that when they are busy with this project and we are also busy promoting their projects through this post. yes oral indeed very quickly affects society.
then what makes you so sure about this project? but I personally don't think that this is IMMEDIATELY, while Bitcoin is very decentralized and Lybra is more focused on finance.
so I think this is just about developing the adoption of blockchain technology in the future and cannot be compared to the investment aspects of the value of bitcoin. because bitcoin has been around for a long time and will remain the cryptoqurrency market leader.

99% people  here uneducated in simple things in life not talking about complex things which they far away from understanding this....but in order to answer you this so you will know what wait us in the future without predicting and be sure we need to dive deep from where bitcoin come...

LETS GO..
bitcoin come from peer to peer file sharing with twist called blockchain.
now why peer to peer file sharing(decentralized tech) was burn because before this there was centrelized tech which mean there was few main servers that hold all the info like movies,mp3,software and computers around the world was downloading from this main servers without be depending on each other, what happen is the governmnets pretty fast locate this servers and shut down them.

then people became more smart

and build decentralized=peer to peer file sharing which mean our private computers are the servers, for example computer A download from computer B and computer B upload something to computer Z and so on...

BitTorrent is a peer-to-peer protocol, which means that the computers in a BitTorrent “swarm” (a group of computers downloading and uploading the same torrent) transfer data between each other without the need for a central server.

now the governmnet need to shut down more then 500 million private computers and its impossible ,,its called decentralized tech.

now bitcoin is peer to peer money and not file sharing compare to libra project which is centerlized tech and decentralized tech always win...

libra is not threat and will be huge failure for sure its stable coin.

stable coin its not investment its exchange nothing more because the price dont grow its like to exchange usd to euro nothing more but even more
libra stable coins its not real crypto stable coin its centralized and control by facebook ...real crypto its mean its peer to peer money and no central control exist and no body can lock your account or other shit

so fucking simple...

decentralized tech mixed with distributed tech will eat the entire system like peer to peer file sharing it cannot go the other way,

I wouldn't go as far as saying that Libra will be a huge failure. Being backed by such a huge social media giant, and with the libra association being founded by dozens of industry giants, I really can't see how you could say Libra will fail, while complete trash like Tether (USDT) somehow thrives?

Sure, Libra is not as decentralized as Bitcoin, but it will not fail. I am almost certain it will be in the top 5 by market capitalization, and should eventually knock XRP out of its number 4 spot. Not sure how much further it can go though.

It will be a huge on-ramp to crypto, and many will spillover into ETH and BTC.

On the contrary, we can say that it is already very successful for Libra. The US congress, the vice-president of the EU Central Bank and Trump, has already announced that the Libra could be dangerous.

If you asked me, it's too early to compare Libra coin to Bitcoin, Bitcoin has weathered when it comes to threats to it's being the most adopted, popular and profitable coin in the market, we'll have to see how it will have a direct impact on Bitcoin and another altcoin before we can judge if Libra coin is a threat or not.

Libra can also never appear in the market. It will depend on the governments as they want to be able to control it. And Facebook can't do anything without them.

Why is Libra being dangerous a good thing? Haven't you seen the regulatory uncertainty surrounding Libra?

Some governments have already discussed the issues such a cryptocurrency could raise, they could lay down some harsh regulations on Facebook's new coin.

Is it Lybra or Libra?

The American government is worried that the USD will be devalued if they allow Libra fly. It will leave too much power in the hands of one man, Zuckerberg. Libra will not see the light of day, not to talk of even getting anywhere near Bitcoin. If Mark Zuckerberg was from another country outside USA restrictions then maybe Libra may work

what ever you call that and it doesn't matter a lot. Not only with libra but US has already declared if that country is feeling worried with the progress of the crypto too. The bankers are the main party who didn't like about that.

Crypto community is not so excited for the Libra launch, because first of all, they need to be approved by governments and first talk with USA are not going well. Secondly the only common things with crypto currencies is the blockchain technology, nothing more.

no one can predict the future of crypto, especially if it is about libra and bitcoin, everything can happen, and it is not impossible libra can be better than bitcoin, and replace the position of bitcoin, or even coin libra is not as good as what most people expectations

Libra will never be better than Bitcoin. These are two different objects which can not be compared. Libra can not even be called cryptocurrency

This is the way I think about it, rough analogy...
Libra = Paypal 2.0
BTC = Gold

I think Libra will be fantastically liberating and empowering for billions of people, who can use it to make micro payments for their daily needs.

I think BTC will eventually be the worldwide reserve currency, that people turn to for keeping their capital safe. Note right now of course it is way too volatile for that, but I think that is the direction it will end up and I'm making my bets on it.
