Because they have either moved most of their industrial complex to countries which are poor or been able to shut it down completely by exporting things from those poor countries. Note, I don't make a value judgment here as this is how things stand in a world like ours

Suicidal goes by how dangerous life is. In countries where is war or lot of criminal and poverty no one will suicide. Because they see dying and what comes with that all the time. In countries with high living standards there is tones of suicides, because people simply dont cherish the life.

From OP's example,if people get less healthier and getting sick from time to time then it will make the economy more stronger only because people have to take medicine too often if they fall sick too often and many countries still have high tax rate for the medical products as well so governments will make more money but the people will be still in poor.

They will be ill and use medical services, but at the same time, many of them will not be able to work and will be treated at home. Same thing with alcohol. Addicted people buy it constantly, but because of this bad habit they lose their jobs. Hence the harm to the economy.

The OP is thinking is very far fetched , if you are thinking of those things then we can talk about mental health as well.
If the schools are not teaching to kids to do sports on daily basis, to be active and so on then children have higher possibilty to develop addictions and mental health problems which leads to smaller productivity and bad economy

but something more solid and overlooked in my mind is high and complicated TAXES on small companies and individuals which discourages them to start bussines and pay their taxes.

Correct,government has so many projects which are redundant or not really needed.Like a road being replaced eve that road  still looks new and  being used. They are doing this because of projects. When there a project, there is a budget, a money going out from government coffers, and lastly there is a commission or kickback.

Free stuff doesn't mean a bad thing in many cases, if a government can manage its resources to increase the GDP growth then it's not a problem, that's what every government should do.

I am thinking about the same thing too. The morbidity rate increases as people keep on tolerating unhealthy lifestyle through patronizing and abusing fast food chains which has all the most unhealthy foods in the world due to the additives being inserted on it. I think if we are going to promote proper orientation on how to have a proper lifestyle and also a proper mindset in business, we can help in raising the economy of our country. Most of the people nowadays spent most of their time in social media and I think that needs to be regulated too for the country to improve.

Economic growth is associated with progress and advancement. It is a capacity of an economy to satisfy individuals necessity by producing enough products and services, thus, government and those individuals plays a vital roles as well. The mistake there is not the freebies that they are giving away to the people or to the voters but the lack of awareness of the voters for voting those officials just because they spend some of their money into freebies. Like road widening in a provincial land which barely cars passed by, that causes houses to be demolish? Why not in urban place. It is like shotgun project just to have government project as well to have a commission. The economic progress of the country will depend on governments project to lessen the problem not to add a problem. There should be solution first in existing problems so they can move forward to another plan, but they tend to escape it and do other project to mislead the project. The use of government fund should be address to solve economic issues.

Suicide is low in the UK and in Greece, which indicates it's down to culture. The UK is a chatty country where people talk to strangers all the time. Greece is a country with a strong family culture.

Scandinavia doesn't have a strong family culture, and people there tend to be reserved and not as chatty or friendly as the Brits. So loneliness is a thing. Suicide is a function of loneliness.

The economy in your country go positive way, maybe by using local products. So whatever you do, use local products, so that the selling value of your country's economy goes up.

Trivial things that have an impact on the economy, maybe people who prefer to play games or social media and other things that make unemployment increase. High unemployment rates can destroy the economic aspects of the country.

In my own personal opinion, the not so obvious things that damage a country's economy is population growth or human overpopulation because some people do not care about the increase of number of people who lives in a country which can lead to a problem like increased in immigration, unsustainable biomes and depletion of resources, that is why we should control our population or limit giving births by making a law like one-child or two-child policy.
